Have you ever thought about how you want to die?
I used to think I wanted to die in my sleep.
Then I thought I'd rather drown at sea.
Or maybe go more violently
as opposed to dying silently.
But I came to the realization
that I'm no more than a creation
and that I should die (simply)
with only my dignity.
It doesn't matter the place from where I depart
as long as it's in the world where I had my start.
And that I don't cause any muffled cries
because people try to look into my eyes
and fail to see the shimmering light
that had once given them vibrant life.
So concerning my death I have only one plea:
When I am to enter eternal sleep
leave my memory pleasant to keep.
After I have died
please, please, close my eyes.
Rest In Peace.
Close My Eyes
Just something that I thought up when I was thinking about funerals and stuff. Not depressing, but definately profound. Short, with a meaning.Did you like this poem? Write one of your own!
