.: Romeo & Cinderella :.
Dedicated to the one I hold most dearly to me.I pretend as though I'm going to sleep and turn off the light
My cellphone gleams in the darkness, and there is your name,
My heart flutters with joy, knowing tonight won't be the same
I open the curtains and let the moonlight sneak in,
I see you below the balcony, and I can feel this is sin
Mom and dad never approved, and they knew I would cry
So I met with you secretly, telling them lie after lie
You climbed up the balcony and I opened the door,
I carefully run to you, hoping no noise to escape the floor
You embrace me and smile and hold me in your arms,
I hold onto you dearly, knowing if I let go, my heart would be harmed
Our lips meet and I know this is right,
If my parents knew this, there'd be more than a fight
When you first met them, they felt threatened and scared,
Eventhough you had manners, looked nice, and seemed like you cared
I break the embrace and enter the house,
My feet feel so light, and I'm quiet as a mouse
Quiet as I can, I gather my things and pack them away,
Getting ready to flee this dreadful prison, and you'd show me the way
I stumble across a storybook, one I was read to every night,
The story of Cinderella; memories came soaring like a kite
I'd always wanted to be like Cinderella, but this story is wrong,
It's more like Romeo & Juliet, without the death; it's where our story belongs
So I change my story up a bit; I place the book on my bed,
I write a note and place the words that were running through my head
I grab my stuff and flee while holding your hand,
A smile played your lips, knowing my escape was grand
The next morning, mom and dad will see my empty bed,
Neatly made with a book and a note that read:
"Romeo & Cinderella"
