Dear God,
I think I finally understand love.
How it doesnt matter how many sins,
How many scars are left from the past,
Acceptance is where it all begins.
I finally understand true love.
I dont care how horrible he can be.
I dont care about all the simple mistakes,
Or even if he quits loving me.
If he decides that he hates me and walks away,
I will love him just the same.
I will go and look for him,
In hopes to bring him back home one day.
If he kills somebody Ill forgive him.
If he lies to me, Ill forget.
If he doesnt do everything perfectly,
My feelings wont change a bit.
When hes going through hard times,
Ill be there by his side.
Ill help him in everyway I can
Through his fate that You decide.
When times are tough and nothing seems right,
And all his hope seems lost,
Ill be the one to restore that hope,
To lead him through for not a cost.
Thanks to Jesus coming here
To wash my sins away,
I finally understand
What my love means today.
Although my love could never be as great,
Nor could it be as true,
At least I finally understand
