LEAVE THE WILDLIFE ALONE

Created by tinoskyhawk on Friday, August 03, 2007

A pretty koala sits up in a tree
A bulldozer comes along and starts the key
The engine roars and the tree is gone
The koala is not there, there is just grass torn.

A jumping kangaroo bouncing along
His eating grass like a lovely song
A car looses control and steers towards him
Nothing we can do the car wins.

A beautiful long snake
Baking in the sun
A 4wd comes along
After one tyre the snake is squashed
Another life lost.

A thorny devil lizard sitting frozen hot
A person starts taking pictures
The lizard moves not
The person pokes the thing and cries out in pain
As the lizard uses it's karate moves as if it is a game
The person wacks it with a broom
The poor thing died with one wack
And was chucked in the garden back.

This poem is so people notice
To just stop and notice
The number of animals that die each year
On our roads or in our trees
We are the main cause
They are just as scared
So stop and think before you glare.
