Run, jump, dive
I wish I realized before
I didn't have nine lives
That my heart can be torn
That I can die inside
Just as easily as I was born
Holding onto a note
Wishing inside no one had to see
The inked words that I wrote
Finally letting go of it
But only to have to cry
And tell myself inside
That reality is just a lie
It's only a stupid love letter, after all
A silly heart that was struck
With Cupid's arrow that he let fall
Cupid is only the devil in disguise
The hearts he leaves behind
Are blood red like Macbeth
And that's why we call him a messenger of death
No thank you
I'd rather not have anymore
Of that nicotine milkshake
My heart is so sore
Just take the smile I fake
Everyone all around me
Questions my mood
I tell them I didn't know love had a fee
And they would say, "Love is blind"
But all I wanted was a romance
And that's just the way life is
Rejection, mortification, humuliation
No more, please
Just take back this fiction
And this horrible asphyxiation
