As You Walk Out The Door

I know, the title isn't the best, but it's a really good poem! You can judge a book by it's cover, you know!

I count your steps, as you walk out the door.

I’ve tried to talk it through,

But I just can’t get to you.

My world is changing so very fast,

But all I want is the past.

I want things to be the way they used to,

When you had me, and I had you.

When I close my eyes, it’s your face I see.

You never even said goodbye to me.

How could you leave me in such a state of mind?

And not even bother to remember what you left behind?

You’ve found someone new to love you,

But she’ll never love you like I do.

My world since you left is in slow motion,

Isn’t true love supposed to be filled with devotion?

But there’s nothing I can do now,

I’d bring you back, if only I knew how.

I count your steps as you walk out the door
