Unremembered Lover

This is to someone very important to me. Many will not understand the full meaning to this, but whatever I made it so I'm going to post it. I just hope he doesn't get a hold of it...

You're not forgotten
Simply unremembered
So, my lover, explain to me
What you look like
Tell me again
What it felt like for you to catch me when I stumbled
Let me know
What you smelled like in that store after being in the rain
Allow me to recall
The feeling in my heart when you stopped yet another fall
Explain it all to me
For I can not remember at all
If I did not thank you
I'm doing it now
It is obvious you deserve it
For protecting me for so long
I apologize for all the questions
But all the encounters were simply forgotten
Do you regret having my memory wiped clean?
Show me again, the fear in you eyes
When I recognized you for the first, yet millionth time
Hold me again
And please understand if I cry
because it is only from frustration with myself
I try so hard to remember, and survive with such a vain hope, that it will all come back
Speak slowly while you explain,
Only because your voice has dissapeared in my mind
So, my sweet unremembered lover
Make me recall everything that never happened
