It’s a bleak and black midwinter,
But snow still covers us all around,
Blinding with purity,
Unreal and deadly cold,
Just like these old forgotten teenage bones,
I’m waiting for my answer,
I sit below the moonlight,
I run behind the sunlight,
I’m waiting for some shelter,
All I want is your cover,
I don’t need the winter,
I now have what I desire.
Cigarette smoke dancing during midwinter,
It’s on the tip of your tongue,
The smell becomes part of you,
I want to kiss you,
I want to be that part of you,
Your black clothing resembles our nights together,
Dancing on cemetery graves,
Drinking until we knew we were crazy,
Laughing until we caught a glimpse of the morning,
Running back to the nightmares of reality,
Nothing else seems to be here,
Your touch is my Bible,
That’s all that really matters.
Your white flesh blends in with midwinter,
Red lips with saddened eyes,
I hold your hand against the glass,
But I don’t need to glance at the unknowing mirror,
Tears of these emotions,
I hold your smile and have it engraved,
My heart seems to have stopped beating,
My brain just stopped sending waves,
Hold me close in this midwinter,
Even if we’re falling from grace.
