1. There are only a few pieces of gear that are proper for making Hip Hop tracks. Most of the software and hardware made today and pitched towards Rap music are knock-offs and plain wack.

2. I think hardware is the way to go. Its a superior workflow and I get an unbeatable sound. The Software based producers have no clue what they're missing.

4. I think all the programs and equipment meant to help producers is hurting Rap and Hip Hop. Music production is something you have to discover on your own and any hints, tips or tricks is letting wannabes in the game.

5. You're not a real producer until you sell a track.

6. Hip Hop/Rap music production is way better now. No one wants to hear old school Boom Bap. That era is over; its time for a new generation of producers to move the music forward.

8. The artist of today is way more skilled than in the past. They drop way more quality verses on mixtapes and live and show a greater range of song making ability. Back in the day rappers were one-dimensional. I'd rather produce for today's Rappers.

9. The Rappers of today are weak compared to the Rappers of the past. I wouldnt produce for anyone around today unless there was a lot of money in it.

10. Being a producer only means something when you do it for the love. You just make your beats and drop records for the heads that can appreciate it.

11. Youre only a real producer if you play an instrument.

12. This is the best era for being involved with music production. The way producers are getting noticed and finally paid what they are worth shows that the art is being elevated.

13. Music from the past was way harder to create. The restrictions imposed by the gear back then meant you had to be much smarter about how you approached production. We have it much easier now with VSTs and all the affordable synths on the market.

14. Music was way simpler in the past. All you needed was a good loop with some drums behind it. Now, as a producer you have to push yourself to create music to please a wider audience and get those record sales.

15. I would let someone rock over my beats if they met my price no matter what. I dont care what they rap about -I just collect for my production.

16. I would only work with someone if I thought they were hot. Even if they met my price. I don't want someone wack wasting my beats.

17. I think beat battles and producer showcases are a waste of time. The kind of beats that win or get the crowd excited never make good records. Plus, I dont want someone stealing my ideas. It's better to focus on my career than get caught up in that.
