What sort of extracurricular activities are/were you involved in at your high school?

Extracurriculars? Those are for suck-ups. I'm out of there as soon as the bell rings. Student council--I figured people would vote me in, and I like helping out the school in a behind-the-scenes sort of way. Social committees--so I can make sure the dances are a blast--and whatever the guy I'm after's doing. Who has time for extracurriculars when there's a beach to hit and parties to prep for? Well... Does writing graffiti on the school walls count? Anything to do with athletics, as long as I can be captain of the team.

How do you get along with your siblings?

We're too far apart in age--we never really got close. I don't see them any more--they're on to bigger and better things. S/he can be so clingy at times, but at the same time I'm kind of glad s/he wants to be like me. They can be a bit of a hassle--I wish I had more privacy. We used to be really close, but lately we've grown apart, which sucks. I'm an only child. Wish I had a brother or sister--it's a little lonely!

How do you get along with your parents?

They're around, they're okay. We don't talk much. I can hang out with my dad--my mom's hardly ever home, and when she is she's getting on my case. I'm really close with my mom. Sometimes we get into big fights, but she always cheers me up afterward. My dad... Let's just say you don't want to get him mad. My mom is always there for me, but my dad takes off when things get tough. As long as I'm bringing home the grades and making my college application look good, they let me do whatever.

What do you do in your free time?

Swim and rollerblade down by the beach with my friends, hang out with them at parties. Take a walk, grab a smoke if I can, doodle on bus seats, try to sneak into bars. Anything to avoid being at home, really. Watch old movies and TV shows, read graphic novels, listen to music, surf the 'net. Plan ways to come up with some quick cash, host parties at my house. Hang out with my friends, help my mom around the house. Scope out the latest fashions at the mall, make an appearance at the right parties, make out with my boyfriend.

What sort of clothes do you wear?

Anything that's trendy and shows off my body. Jeans, army surplus stuff, sneakers; cool and functional. Casual clothes from designer companies. Dark colors, baggy jeans and shirts, low profile stuff. Casual but cute and fun, like capris and a flirty tank top. Simple and classic, like khakis and a polo shirt.

How do you feel about dating?

Dating around can be fun, but it's best if you find that person who really gets you. Maybe it'd be okay, if I met an honest, non-judgmental guy... Who am I kidding--do those even exist? There are people interested in me, but I haven't found someone I really feel that way about, and I don't want to hurt anyone. If they're cute and they can hold their own, I'll give 'em a chance. I'm really curious about that scene, but I'm not sure how to even ask someone out. They've got to be popular and with it, and they'd better treat me right.

What would you do if you realized you'd forgotten to finish an assignment--and it's due right now?

Tell the teacher that with everything going on I hadn't had time--I'll get an extension, no problem. Smile coyly, lower my eyelashes, and apologize profusely--if the teacher's a guy, he'll go easy on me, anyway. Remind the teacher that I know one of his/her dark secrets--s/he'll let this one slide. Make up a solid explanation for why it was impossible for me to have it done on time, and say I'll hand it in tomorrow. Apologise to the teacher and laugh a little about how it slipped my mind, and accept any marks that get knocked off. Say nothing to the teacher. So I missed on assignment--no big deal.

A younger, clueless student is being manipulated by one of the popular kids. You:

Laugh, but feel a little uncomfortable. You remind yourself that if they tried harder to fit in, this wouldn't happen to them. Grumble to a friend about how much popular kids suck, and go somewhere else so you don't have to watch. Are the one doing the manipulating. Hey, clueless kids are there to be taken advantage of! Pretend you don't notice, but if you get a chance later when your friends aren't there, give the clueless kid some tips. March right on over to them, and challenge the popular kid in front of his/her victim so everyone sees what's really going on. Ignore it, but later tell my friend (who was the manipulative one) that it was kind of uncool.

What's the worst thing you've ever done?

I took out my frustration on people who didn't deserve it. I didn't stand up to someone who hurt me and my family. I cheated people who didn't know better out of their money. I spent a lot of time hanging out with people I've realized are actually kind of jerks. I snubbed someone who really needed my help. I betrayed someone close to me, and made sure everyone else hated him/her too.

What's the best thing you've ever done?

I struck back at someone who was hassling people in my circle. I talked to someone I dislike in order to get help for a friend. I made sure other kids didn't get preyed on the way I once was. I encouraged someone to come out of his/her shell and take a chance. I challenged the one person who always beat me down. I'm not sure... I'm starting to think a lot of the things I thought were good weren't so good after all.
