SOPHIE'S POV

"Sophie! You've been in here all day! Why don't you go outside or something!" My mom said coming into my room with a basket of laundry. "Mom! I'm working on my new summer dress! It has to be perfect for Lauren's party this Friday!" I said. Lauren was my best friend since kindergarten. She was having a summer kick off party. I had to go! Tyler was going to be there and Lauren said she thinks he likes me too! I had to make this dress perfect or he might get back together with Hilary. "You can finish it later. You have been in your room for a week. How about you go to the mall or the library? You have 4 over due books. Go return them and then call a friend or something." my mom said and left. I sighed and gathered up my books. I walked down to the library and returned the books. *Why don't i get a few books while I'm here or at least look around* i thought and walked towards the horror books. There's a man who looks like he just bought an all a round ticket on the crazy train. He was wearing baggy purple pants, a tight red shirt, big black sunglasses, and a blond wig. I stood next to him and looked through the books. He kept staring at me which was starting to creep me out. "Uh can i help you?" I asked looking up at him. He picked up a random book and held it up. "Do you know if this is any good?" he said in a scratchy, high voice. He was holding the book Beautiful Dead. "Oh my Jonas I love that book!" I said "Jonas? So your a fan of those no talent losers?" he said in the same scratchy voice "I bet they have more talent than you!" I said defensively. "Thanks" he said quietly. Only this time his voice was deeper and more... natural. It sounded really familiar. "What's your name?" I asked him "Your not one of those crazy fan girls are you?" he asked "I don't think so." I said "Well my name is... Joe. As in the no talent one" he said and laughed. I laughed with him. "I think your full of talent" I said "Thanks. Hey, um are you doing anything this Friday?" he asked "Actually I'm going to my BFFs house for a party."I said "Oh." he said sadly and looked down. "But I don't have a date unfortunately."I said "Are you just saying that because you feel sorry for me?"he asked "Uh have you seen my room?" I asked and laughed "Ok how about I pick you up around... let's say 6:00?" he asked "Ok. The party starts at 6:30." i said "Ok see you then. Oh wait here's my number" he said and gave me a piece of paper. "Here's mine. And are you going to wear that to the party?" I asked "Only if you want me too." he said and smiled. I went back home and finished my dress. It was perfect!

THE PARTY

"Honey? There's a boy named Joe here to see you?" My mom yelled. I looked in the mirror one last time and then walked downstairs. "You look wonderful honey. Have a good time" my mom said "Ok. I will. Bye!" I said and walked out the door with Joe. We got to the party 15 minutes early and helped Lauren set up. She already knew about Joe coming. She almost had a heart attack when I told her. After awhile more people came and the girls were all over Joe. It was really ticking me off. I stayed by him until Tyler pulled me towards him. "Hey your friend you liked me and i was wondering if ya wanted to find a couch and make out!" he said and tugged on my arm "Ew! No ya perv!"I said while pulling my hand away and walking back over to Joe. Tyler ended up on the couch with Hilary after an hour or two. I stayed with Joe the rest of the night and a few years later we got married and had 3 kids. Life is good.
