Black Rose (Chapter Seven)
It's ooooouuuuut! Yays!
Chapter Seven
Suzy's POV
Jason could really give Christopher a run for his money.
He was also an outstanding kisser. I think they're both tied. The twins were more alike than I thought.
We kissed for a while, and then I pulled away from him.
"Who won?" Jason asked.
"Uh, I'll get back to you on that," I muttered, and I dashed off to where Christopher was. He was leaning against the maple tree, frowning.
"Hello," I said, walking over to him.
"Hi," he muttered.
"Okay, okay, we can get back together 'till your week's up!" I said, flinging my arms around him.
"Good. Unless you wanted me to be grumpy," he said, kissing my forehead.
"Nope."
"So, when you come over Saturday, bring your bathing suit," Christopher said.
I raised my eyebrows and stared at him.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"We're going to the pool, silly," Christopher said.
"Hm... Me, in a pool, with two guys... Oh, what are the possibilities?" I mumbled to myself.
Christopher laughed and pecked my lips.
"It'll be fun, you'll see," he assured me.
"Meh... Will your mom be there?" I asked.
"My mom? What, do you need parental guidance?"
"Um, sure... Sorta... I'd rather not go to the pool with two guys without their mommy to make them behave," I taunted.
"Well, she's not coming. She trusts us."
"How silly of her."
He stared at me. I smiled.
"Well, I'll go. I think my mom might trust me," I said.
The bell rang, and we headed to class.
It was during Calculus, the last class of the day. I felt something soft hit my head, and then bounce off onto my desk. I picked it up. It was a crumbled ball of paper. I opened it, curious, and read the untidy scrawl.
I heard you're going to the pool with Jason and Chris tomorrow.
-Cassie
I scribbled down:
Yeah, what's it to you?
I threw it back at her.
Just think you're a bit... easy.
Excuse me??? At least I'm not a creep who has no life! Get lost!
I threw it at her head, very hard. She read it, and then ripped it to shreds. She flicked me off again, and then turned to whisper to her friend. I stuck out my toungue, then rolled my eyes.
Classes had ended, and Chris and I were walking over to his motorcycle.
"I don't understand Brian," he was saying.
"Why not?" I asked, glancing over at the back of Brian's head. I could seee his sandy brown hair.
"You know how he hates Cassie?" Chris asked.
"Mhm," I replied.
"Well, he got mad at me for cussing her out before," Chris said.
"Weird," I said. "Maybe he actually likes her."
"Nope. He likes someone else."
"Well, maybe he was mad about something," I said.
"Oh! I know! Maybe he's upset about the pool! He wants to come," Christopher said.
"Well, why doesn't he?"
"It's the pool in my backyard, silly."
"Oohhh..."
"Yeah."
"Well, whatever, he'll get over it," I said.
"Yeah, maybe."
We approached his motorcycle. We hopped on, and Christopher dropped me off at my house.
"K, well, bye," I said, hopping off.
"See you later," Chris said, kissing me goodbye.
I walked inside the house and closed the door behind me.
"Hey, honey," Mom called.
"Hey. Is it okay if I go to Chris's house?" I asked.
"Yeah. How's Jason?"
"A-okay. Happy as a clam," I chirped, walking up the stairs.
I had some new text messages on my phone. I slumped down onto my bed and read them.
Stop playing with their feelings, said one. Anomynous.
Jason and Chris deserve better, said another. Anomynous.
Cassie overheard your conversation, Suzy. She's spreading it around the school. You know, the one about Chris and Jason, said the last one. It was from Brian.
Okay.... This sucked.
Chris, Cassie's spreading our plan around the school, I wrote to Christopher.
Oh, God... That sucks, he wrote back.
Really? I didn't notice, I responded.
I'd have some trouble to face on Monday.
