Best Friends!...Forever? !17?

I woke up to the phone ringing. After it rang for what seemed like forever I decided I should answer it. “Hello?” I said rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

“Hey Jessica.” Susie said.

“Hey what are you doing calling me so early in the morning?” I asked yawning.

“It’s not early. It must be the time change or something.” She said giggling.

“There’s time change in North Carolina.” I said smiling into the phone.

“Oh well. Don’t you want to know how my Christmas was?” she asked

“Yeah, Sure how was your Christmas?” I didn’t really sound interested but that was only because it was so early in the morning.

“It was great. I got a brand new cell phone. Now I have unlimited text. It is so awesome!” She gushed.

“That’s great. I got an ipod touch.” I said.

“That’s so cool. You have to let me see it when I get back.”

“Okay”

“So how was you Christmas? Did your family drive you insane like usual?” She asked. She had met most of my family and knew all about them especially my cousins.

“My family was cool and weird as usual. The only bad thing was Marisa. All she did was flirt with Hunter the whole time. She barely even acknowledged my existence.” I explained.

“Aww Your jealous of your own cousin hitting on Hunter.” Susie said.

“I am not jealous of Marisa. She and Hunter could go out for all I care I just wish she didn’t act like I’m nothing and Hunter’s a god or something because he’s not.”

“Sure he’s not and you so are jealous.” She was probably rolling her eyes.

“He’s not and I’m not jealous.”

“Whatever.” She said.

“Did you call Cody yet?” I asked curious.

“Yeah, I can’t wait till I get back to him and you of course.”

“Of Course. What is he doing over break? He’s not home is he?” I realized I had no clue where Cody was but he couldn’t have been home or else I would have seen him and hung out with him at Hunter’s.

“He’s with his family in New Jersey. He’s coming back the same day I am.”

“Oh. Well I can’t wait for you to get back. All I have to hang out with is Hunter. I need you and Cody.” I said.

“I’m sure you are loving every minute of it.”

“Whatever.” I said annoyed.

“I have to go we are packing up to head to Pennsylvania.” She said.

“Okay bye. See you soon.”

“Bye.” Then we hung up.

The next couple of days I spent mostly with Hunter we played video games and goofed off and even went sledding a few times. I got a whole bunch of song on my new I pod and got some games on it too. I absolutely loved it. It was the best present ever. New Year’s was coming up so Hunter and I got my mom to take us to the store to but stuff for our little party we have every year. It wasn’t a party since it was only Me and Hunter every year but we still needed to have junk food. What’s New year’s without snacks?

“I want chips.” Hunter said.

“If we get chips then we need dip.” I said walking over to the dip. Once I got the dip we went over to the chips and got original, sour cream and onion, and barbeque flavored chips. We also got popcorn, pretzels, and cheetos. WE headed to the drinks section and couldn’t decide on what to get.

“I want root beer.” Hunter said grabbing a six pack.

“I want orange soda.” I said grabbing a six pack of orange soda.

“Root beers better.” Hunter said as he placed the soda in the cart.

“No Orange soda is better.” I said.

“Root beer is so better than orange soda.” He said.

“I like root beer but orange soda is sooo better.” I said.

“See you like root beer so it’s better than orange soda.” He said sticking his tongue out at me.

“What ever.” I said sticking my tongue back at him.

We finished shopping after getting a few more snacks and things them headed back home. We unloaded all of the snacks into Hunter’s kitchen. The New Year was only a couple days a way and I couldn’t wait.
