A Snake of Many Colors *1*
Lauren never thought of keeping the fact that she's a Metamorphagus a secret. She was always used to people just being used to it. She never did anything extreme. Something that she thought would get her in trouble. That wasn't like her. At least that's how she used to be. Now Lauren was sitting in her headmasters office, chewing on her lip with her eyes wide.
"Now Lauren, I'm going to ask you one more time. Did you impersonate Fleur Delacour and break into another Professor's office, and then stole several of that said Professor's items?" Her headmaster asks for the second time.
"No, Professor I didn't." Lauren answered simply.
The headmaster sighed, "I don't understand why you have become such a problem. You used to be so good when you were younger."
Lauren saw the look on her face. She had seen it many times before; when she was about to get kicked out of the school. "Ma'am I'll be on my best behavior. I-I promise."
"Miss Lopez you promised before, and yet you cause trouble. You must understand we shall not stand for your behavior here at Beauxbatons! I am sorry to say you shall not be returning!" and with that the headmaster stood and left. Leaving a very surprised and horrified Lauren behind.
Lauren sat outside the gates of her old school on her trunk. Waiting for her parents to come pick her up, since taking a train was not opptional. She sighed for about the tenth time. Knowing her parents would be in a foul mood when they arived. Particually her mother. Lauren's mother had been much more than proud to send her only daughter away to Beauxbatons. Since she had earned her degree of witchcraft from the same school. Lauren's father, however, had been not to thrilled about the idea. He had always thought the school was for stuck up little girls, that weren't tough enough to be at the same school as boys. That statement had never made Lauren very happy about attending Beauxbatons.
Just as Lauren started to drift off, she heard a faint "pop". She looked up to see her oldest brother standing in front of her a few feet away.
"Kaleb?" Lauren gawked. "They actually sent you to pick me up?"
"Yup. Mom was pretty upset. She wouldn't leave the house. And dad's at work so he didn't get the word. Yet." He said smirking.
"Man I hate you." Lauren said standing up dragging her trunk along. She grasped onto Kaleb's arm with one arm and held tightly onto her trunk with her other hand. She squeezed her eyes shut as he turned.
They appeared in their living room. Their mother was no where to be seen.
"Mom?" Kaleb called. Lauren promptly smacked him. "Ow." He mumbled.
"Kaleb? Are you back?" Their mother called from upstairs.
"Yes we are!" Kaleb sang back, trying not to laugh as Lauren buried her face in her hand.
Their mother stepped down the stairs, quickly. She wasn't looking very pleased. "Lauren." She started. "I hope you already know how upset I am to see you back from school so early."
Kaleb snickered. He almost had a right. Lauren didn't even make it through the first quarter of the year.
"I'm sorry mom. I just wasn't cut out for that school. They all have no sence of humor and if anyone has one they get it sucked out by the other girls." Lauren slightly regretted talking bad about Beauxbatons, since her mom was once a proud student.
"I see that you aren't cut out for that lifestyle. That is why you shall be transfered."
"Transfered?! Where?" Lauren gasped. She hoped it wasn't far away. Living in England made it rather hard to go to Beauxbatons since it's in France. Lauren hadn't heard of another school anywhere near by.
"You will be going to Hogwarts."
Of course! Hogwarts how could Lauren forget! Her own brother went to Hogwarts. But it was such a long time ago. And it didn't help that he never finished school. Or maybe she was right about the Beauxbatons professors brainwashing her.
"Alright I'll give it a shot." Lauren answered much more relaxed.
"No. You will not give it a shot. You will succed there. Because this is your last chance. Take it wisely." Her mother said, pointing a finger. Lauren nodded.
"When do I leave?"
"Tomorrow." Kaleb cut in rather quickly.
"Tomorrow?!" Lauren said looking back at her mother. She nodded.
Lauren flopped into a chair. Kaleb ruffled her short blonde hair. She knew this was her last chance. But could she really stay out of trouble? It was just her nature to be a bit show-off-y. She couldn't help it. She did have a fancy little power. It wasn't everyday you met a Metamorphagus. But Lauren had a feeling that might need to be a hidden characteristect.
