Ch. 11-My Naruto Life-Mastering the Jutsu

When Yumi walked into the kitchen, Naruto was missing.
"Where's Naruto?" she asked.
"He stayed out last night," answered Sakura. "i wouldn't be surprised if he was dead."
Yumi gave a start. "That's horrible." she muttered.
Sakura glanced at her from the corner of her eye.
Sasuke stood up. "I'm going for a walk."
"We've only started eating!" said Sakura.
Yumi glanced at Sasuke's plate. It was already empty.
Yumi left with Sakura and Tazuna. When they passed the beach again she stopped and let Sakura and the bridge builder continue by themselves.
Yumi made the handsigns, concentrating deeply. The water stirred. This time. it took shape. First a head, then a body.
Concentrate, concentrate Yumi thought.
The water reared it's head. Yumi extended a hand. Carefully, she reached out with her chakra. She attached chakra strings to the water. Now she could control it easily.
She raised herright hand in a fast, swift movement, and the water flew up. She flicked her left hand and the water twisted.
Moving her right again, she directed the water around her head. Soon she was doing all kind of different movements, testing out how much control she had over the jutsu.
At lunch time, Yumi sat down on the sand. She panted heavily. Officially, this was the first jutsu she had learnt.
The water manipulation was not officially a jutsu, because you had to be born with the ability to do it. Yumi's mother had been able to control water, fire and air. Her father had been an Earth type.
Learning how to control water was nothing like learning a jutsu. Jutsu's had certain hand signs and the amount of chakra it used was fixed. Controling water varied on how much water there was and what she wanted to do with it.
Yumi looked at the water. She had mastered the jutsu, but that was not what she was planning to do.
Now she had mastered it, she could change and manipulate it by guessing. All she had to do was concentrate.
This time when she made the jutsu, she added more handsigns, changing something here and there.
That night, Yumi arrived back at Tsunami's for dinner as they were setting the table. They settled down to eat.
"Now Sasuke's staying outlate too," said Sakura.
Just as they were about to begin, the door opened. Sasuke came in, Naruto leaning on him.
"We did it!" said Naruto, "We climbed all the way to the top!"
"Good," said Kakashi. "Naruto, Sasuke. Starting tomorrow you will both be guarding Tazuna."
"Yes!" cried Naruto.
Yumi was impressed that all her teammates had mastered the chakra controlling lesson.
She smiled at Naruto and Sasuke as they took their places at the table.
"Good job guys," she said.
