[Director: That's it! Your fired!]

Kankuro and Temari find out what their mission to the Leaf village is really about. They also find out Gaara has a mate, for the first time in his life. Naruto also hears about this, and goes wild. He never realized Tami could ever be social, and neither did she.

Naruto blinked. Never did Tami ever say anything to anyone. But right now, right on front of him, she spoke to him, his name, and two sentences.

Naruto looked Tami in the eye, half angrily and half pleadingly.

"I don't get it. I always talked to you, and you never reacted to any of it. And one day Gaara comes along and suddenly you guys are best friends?"

Tami looked helpless. "It's not what your thinking-"

"It's exactly what your thinking, Naruto," Gaara cut in. "I'm sorry, but you just got to get over the fact that she's taken."

"She's TAKEN?!?!" Naruto yelled.

Gaara narrowed his eyes. "Yeah, duh, we're holding hands, what else do-"

"NO...I'm not taken...Gaara stop it. Naruto, I am really sorry I never took notice of you. But, inside I really did realize you cared, I just couldn't show it...you know." Tami finished.

Naruto walked up to her. "So, we can be friends?"

Gaara stepped in, "Yah, you can be her first friend, while I am her her first friend boy-"

Tami pinched Gaara. "YEE OW!"

"Yes, Naruto, we can be friends."

Gaara and Naruto faced eachother and then looked at Tami.

"I'm not sure how well that's gonna work." They both said in unison.

Temari and Kankuro where in the Hokage's office, demanding attention.

"SO, what was the point of telling Kazekage to lie to us, eh?" Temari raised an eyebrow.

Hokage Tsunade was calm. "Because I did not want you guys to freak out about this mission. You might have thought it as huge deal, when it's really not, and that might
cause panic."

"You seriously don't know us. We would never get scared and back out of a mission-"

"Mhm, just 'cause Gaara's around." Kankuro said under his breath.

Temari nudged him hard with her elbow.

"Well, aparently I couldn't spent much time with you guys, so I never really knew how you guys were, now did I?" Lady Tsunade was getting angry now.

Kankuro picked this up. "C'mon Temari, let's keep on the look out."

After Temari and Kankuri where out of earshot, Tsunade said quietly to her assisstant Shizune, "Don't look at me like that. If I told them the real reason who knows what would happened. I'm doing this for their own good..."

Shizune pursed her lips and looked down.

The sun was setting. The remaing light of it spurting upwards, making it visible to see above the houses. Sakura was strolling down the street, heading home, when she saw Naruto with his hands in his pockets and head down. Her heart skipped a beat. Naruto? she thought. What happened to hyperactive and energized?

She ran upto him. "Hey, Naruto, you alright?"

Naruto looked up at her. She pretended to rub her cheeks in order to cover her blushing. "Sakura-chan. Yeah, I'm alright. But..." His voice trailed off.

"What is it? You can tell me." Sakura
insisted.

They both went and sat on a bench.
Naruto's hand brushed on Sakura multiple times, and she hard time stopping herself from squeeling.

"Well, you know Tami?" Naruto started.

"Er..*cough* yeah..." Sakura never really liked Tami. She disliked her attitude and lack of sociality, and despised her way of living.

"Well. I saw her with G-Gaara just now. They are really close now-"

"What did you say?" Sakura cut Naruto off.

"I know, I can't believe it either. I am happy for her talking and stuff, but...I dunno. I kinda like her, and I fink theya copelnnow..."

Sakura went mind deaf. No thought would enter her brain, and she wasn't aware of anything around her. She didn't hear or care about anything after "I kinda like her".

She couldn't come back to her sences untill Naruto was tapping her thigh.

"Sakura? Hey, what's up Sakura. Answer me, where are you?" Naruto was touching her, and she numbed where his hand hit.

Sakura shook her head, "OH!, sorry Naruto, I am just a bit tired. I'm sorry, so you were saying?"

Naruto went on with his story of his encounter with Gaara and Tami, but Sakura couldn't hear any of it.

Tami was sitting on the floor, back at home. She didn't want to be back at home. It made her remember what she used to feel before she met Gaara and threw all her pain away.

That was the thing. Why is the all her life she used to suffer uncontrolably, and out of the blue a boy comes and suddenly all her hurting stops? It can't be just coincidental. There had to be something...some thing set up for this to happen. But what?

As Tami pondered, she did not notice the standing before her.

"Tami," a sharp voice called.

Tami flinched, then looked up.

"Hokage Tsunade?" she stood up to pay her respects.

"I have an important subject to discuss with you. Let's sit down." Lady Tsunade said firmly.

The Hokage came to my house? This ought to be important.

Gaara never thought he would do much thing, but at the moment, he didn't see anything more sensible. He stood silently beside Tami's open window, and fixed himself so he can hear every word Lady Tsunade and Tami where saying. Hokage coming to Tami's house? He had to know what was going on.

"So, Tami, how are you feeling now." Lady Tsunade's voice said.

"Good..." Tami voice quivered.

"I see you've got over your usual self." Tsunade said.

"Um...I guess..." Tami replied.

Lady Tsunade heaved a sigh. "Tami, I think it's about time I be honest with you."..

Tami didn't say anything.

"When you brought to the Leaf village from the Land of Rice Patties, out medical ninja had a look at you. We found you have a half-activated curse mark on you. It is not visible, because it serves a different purpose then what usual curse marks do."

"Huh? What's a 'curse mark'?" Tami asked.

"The time you were in the Land of Rice Patties, the ruler of the place was a man named Orochimaru. He is as evil as it gets. When the former ruler of the place died, he killed most of the people who lived there. Your family was wealthy, and your father had a prized possesion that Orochimaru had his eyes on. When he would not give it to him by talk, Orochimaru took it by force. Then, that heartless demon he is, he killed your family, and saved your father for last. He held you in front of him, and told him he would spare you. Then, right on front of your fathers eyes, he gave you that curse mark that controls the brains emotions. He said you would live, but you would be depressed and your heart would be killed with pain, and you would never be able to do anything in your life. Telling him this, Orochimaru killed your father, and left you there. When we took you, we got information from the neighbors of what happened to you. This is how we found out."

Gaara couldn't tell how Tami's face looked right now, but he could she was speechless, because so was he.

Lady Tsunade continued, "As soon as we found this out, our medical ninja immediatly tried to find a way to stop the curse mark from working and make your brain back to normal. We found out, two days ago. On when your brain sences the presence of another person who has felt your same pain and desire, and who is hungry for the same love you are, it can be turned back to normal."

Lady Tsunade took a breath. "We thought Gaara was the one for you."
