For expenses incurred more or less often than monthly, convert the payment to a monthly amount when calculating the monthly budget. For instance, convert auto expense that's billed every six months to a monthly amount by dividing the six-month premium by six. This money should be kept separate from your other money so it's available when the bill becomes due.

Effective budget planning starts with knowing how much cash is left to spend and evaluating your current spending patterns. Our monthly budget planner simplifies your budget by allowing you to effectively create an allowance for all of your living expenses and helps you find effective ways to save money every month.
Record your income and expenses each month to track your savings. Fixed expenses are bills you pay every month (mortgage, cable, car payment, etc.), while extra expenses are one-time payments (car repair, new television, etc.). Subtract your expenses from your salary and extra income to determine how much you saved or lost each month. You can also use this chart to plan ahead by entering projected values for each month.
