Serpents and Roses-Being Draco Malfoy's sister-2- Hogwarts

Took my dairy from under my pillow, and my family album, I hid those deep within my trunk, and then closed it. Just as I closed it I heard a knock on the door, quickly followed by my mother coming into my room. "Evening mum" I said standing up, she smiled "Hello Darling, here, I got you some new robes and your books. Tomorrow we will be going to the station in ministry cars. I will be taking you and Draco" I couldnt help but smile a bit, I thanked her, and she left me to finish packing.
I did not go out of my room all night, and decided to turn in early. The next morning I awoke to the soft ruffling of a house elf taking my bags from my room. He saw me awake and bowed apologizing deeply for waking me. "Its ok, just take the bags and bring me some tea" it bowed again and left. I sighed, thinking today was the day I went back to school, and the day I went back to pretending I hated my brother. God, life just doesnt get better does it!? I asked myself as I got up to get dressed. I finished dressing and when I got out of my bathroom I found my tea and some waffles waiting for me near my dresser. I was about to sit and eat my breakfast when I heard a hard knock on the door "come..in?" I froze in my seat as I saw my father standing in the doorway "Good Morning Roxanne, I just wanted to wish you a good trip and tell you we will be expecting you for Christmas this year, the whole family." I nodded and answered firmly, trying to hide my fear and loathing "Yes Father" he looked at me as if he was going to curse me, but he just smirked and left banging the door behind him. I sighed and wondered what I had done in a past life, and begging that Dumbledore would understand and let me stay at Hogwarts for Christmas again. Hermione, Harry, and even Ron had offered more than once for me to come with them for Christmas, but I refused politely every time, I had to, if father found out he would hurt them, and me as well. Besides, spending it at Hogwarts meant I could keep healthy and spend some time with Draco.
I finished my breakfast in silence and looked at the time just as my mothers voice floated up to my room from downstairs "ROXANNA! DRACO! Lets go! Or you will miss the bloody train!" I sighed and got up ready for what would be a bumpy ride to King Cross Station. I made my way downstairs and saw my brother waiting there for me "ready?" I nodded and gave him a hug, as I hugged him I said "Draco, I dont want to.." he pulled away looking at me, his eyes as filled with tears as mine were "shh, Roxy, we have talked about this, now lets just enjoy our last minutes together" I smiled as a tear rolled down my cheek. He wiped it away with his thumb and smiled back. He whispered "lets go"he took my hand and we walked out the Manor. I looked back at the Manor as we stepped into the ministry car, it had been such a loving place such a welcoming house when I was little, and now all I could feel was hatred and fear when I looked at it. Draco pulled me into the car making me snap out of my reverie of thought. I smiled at him as the car pulled out of the long drive way, and onto the main street........
*sigh* well maybe Hoggywarts will be better!
The drive went by in silence, soon enough we were at the station. I was quite reluctant to get out of the car. Draco seem to notice, he pulled me into a tight hug "dont worry, think on the plus side, you will soon be sitting with Granger and her friends" I gave him a kiss on the cheek knowing he was truly happy for me, for he had no real friends like I did. "Thanks Draco, I love you brother." I hugged him again before taking my trolley and walking ahead like I always did, no one was to see us together. I saw him sigh as I walked into the barrier between platforms 9 and 10. ..
Aww....
I could feel a sad smile spread across my lips when I saw the red engine of the Express. Before I could move anywhere I head the familiar voice of my friend calling "Rox! ROX!! Over here!" and then bam, I was being hugged by what seemed to be a very excitable girl.. "Hello Hermy" she finally let go, she really seemed glad to see me, so I decided to try to be happy, at least for her sake. "I am so glad you are finally here, this two are driving me insane!" I couldnt help but smile as she pointed to Harry and Ron standing a few feet behind her, we walked towards them "ello boys!" they looked at me, stared for a few seconds then finally snapped out of it "hi Rox!" they said in unison, I smiled "should we go find ourselves a seat then?" with a nod we all made our way into the train, me and Hermione with linked arms, and the boys walking in front of us. We were close to the back of the train when Hermy remembered she had prefect duties, and so did Ron. I sighed and waved them goodbye, and kept walking along the corridor with Harry. "So Harry, how was your summer? Durselys bother you much?" I asked wanting to break the icy silence that had fallen between us. He shrugged "Nah, my summer was good, I did not spend more than a few days at the Durselys..."he trailed off, maybe because he was afraid to spill out something he was not supposed to say, or maybe because we had arrived at a free compartment. I went with the second one; I opened the door and sat down on my usual spot beside the window. I saw Harry come in and sit in front of me, again I tried to break the silence, "So, sixth year eh? Do you think anything interesting will happen this year? I mean I dont think many things can beat Umbridges final break down.." Harry laughed, I couldnt help but smile, H-"yea, oh did I tell you, I was made Quidditch Captain!" he beamed, he looked so proud of himself; I hugged him, "thats great Harry! Congratulations, the team will be splendid this year then!" As I sat back down I noticed he was looking a bit shocked. He shook his head as if to break out of a trance and continued to talk. We talked about Quidditch for a long time, and about what we thought our new year at Hogwarts would be like, we were talking about Defense Against The Dark Arts when Neville and Luna walked in. "Hey guys!" Ive always liked Luna and Neville in a they are so weird they are cute way really. They were not my style of friends, but they were nice to me. They sat down with us, Luna took out her Quibbler, Neville just sat there, so Harry and I went back to chatting. "as I was saying, what do you think for this year? Maybe a vampire would do nicely!" Harry laughed and shook his head "nah, I would love to have Lupin back for that matter, I think we might even have a normal teacher fo.." before he could finish his statement the compartment door slid open and in walked Hermy and Ron. Hello Hermy came to sit next to me and whispered "Sometimes I wonder why I bother" I was about to ask what she meant when I noticed she was looking at Ron, her long time crush. I looked at him, then back at Hermy "Dont worry, Im sure he will come around.." Ron-"what are you two whispering about?" Me and Hermy- "nothing!" Unintentionally we both burst out laughing...
See? it is at least a bit better!
Conversation seemed to come back slowly, Ron and Hermy now joining Harry and me talking about DADA, when suddenly I bolted up, checking the time, I noticed the trio was staring at me. "Um..I think I am going to go change into my robes now..." and with that excuse I left the compartment as quickly as I could manage without arising suspicion, and sure enough, as soon as I was within 2 steps of the compartment I saw my brother walking towards it with a fake sneer on his face. I saw him and made my way to the change rooms, "Oi! Rox, wait up!" I heard Hermy calling behind me, she had her robes in her hand, I stopped so she could catch on to me. "You left so quickly, whats wrong?" uhoh I couldnt tell her what really was going on. The fact that my brother visited their compartment at the same time every year, at the same time so that I could get out and he could get away with sneering at Harry and Ron and not looking suspicious, I had always been afraid the Trio would catch on, but after 5 years, it seems they havent, and I was not about to tell, no matter how much I really wanted to let it out, so I just looked at Hermy and smiled "no, Im good, just wanted to change with time thats all. Thanks for coming" she nodded, but looked unconvinced so I quickly looked for a more likely excuse while walking away so that she wouldnt notice my brother. "Besides, now that we are both out of there we can talk for a bit. So whats with the RW issue?" she went a bit red but answered me anyway "Well, I dont know what to do anymore, he just doesnt get. it!" she looked a bit frustrated, I laughed a bit. We were now at the change rooms, and I called though the wall.. "Well Hermy, he is a boy after all, and we all know he is not the brightest bulb. He will come around I am sure, if he doesnt, I will personally hit him while you go out and find someone better" I heard her laugh, "Thanks" we were now both in our robes, mine were new and a vibrant black, which made a nice contrast to the gold and red of the Gryffindor crest. We started to walk back and Hermy began to talk again "but anyway, how about Harry and you then?" I could feel my cheeks burning "what about us?" nice, play coy, it has never worked with Hermione, but I tried it anyway. She gave me a look. you know what "I mean....uhoh, look!" she pointed towards our compartment where I saw Draco and those two idiots that follow him around, standing outside of it laughing. Hermy grabbed my arm and pulled me forward. I had to think quick, but before I could do anything I heard my brother saying "well, I will be seeing you Potty, Weasel" and he turned around and was face to face with us. He sneered as Hermione pushed past him "watch it mudblood" he brushed past me and lightly touched my arm, I stood there for a second before following Hermione into the compartment, Harry and Ron looked angry, just like they did every time this happened, I sighed, now it was time to pretend like I hated Draco and shield my ego from the Malfoy insults I was about to hear...
That was close...
