Your Secret's Safe With Me (An Oliver Wood Story): Part One (The Summer Fun Begins)

Here is, as promised, the first of the revisions of my Oliver Wood series. It takes place in the summer, at the end of their sixth year, just like before. But I think you'll notice that a lot is different here...

"My mother is an insufferable prat who deserves to be fed to a hippogriff!" I remark loudly as I make my way out onto the large field behind my house. Five heads turn to look at me as I storm across the grass, my hands on my hips, my hair whipping around my face.
"What did she do this time?" Fred Weasley asks as I sit down on the dry grass beside my friends.
"Can you believe this- she told me that I needed to start on my homework now, since the summer will 'be over before I know it!' Then I told her I didn't need to start my homework yet, and she got all huffy and then-"
"And then the catfight started," Angelina Johnson says with a smile, giving me a knowing look. I nod.
"Exactly."
"So how much trouble did you get into?" George Weasley asks from where he's sitting a little bit away from the group with Lee Jordan. The two are tossing an old Quaffle back and forth lazily. I watch them for a minute, entranced by the red blur passing back and forth, the muggy heat outside calming me down from the argument I just had with my mother.
"Well, I was going to be grounded, but before she could say anything an owl flew in and she was distracted, so I ran out here." I stretch out on the grass, squinting against the bright sun that's now shining in my eyes. On my right and left I feel Angelina and Alicia Spinnet do the same.
"Working on your tan, girls?" George asks innocently. I open my eyes but don't get up. I feel too lazy to move.
"Uh-huh," Alicia mutters.
"Well you girls look like you could use a cool-down," Fred remarks. What is he talking about?
"Uh-huh," Alicia mutters again, trying to get the boys to go away and leave us alone. There's a pause where I can hear quiet laughter. Then I see the silhouettes of three figures standing above us.
"What are you doing?" I ask. "You're blocking the sun." The warm sun, I might add.
"Too much sun is bad for you," Lee says, snickering.
"Leave us alone," Angelina groans. "Just go awaAAAH!" she shrieks and I turn to see what's wrong when I suddenly feel icy cold water splash all over me.
"Fred!" I scream as I jump up and try to smack him. Alicia jumps up beside me, trying to wring the water out of her hair. Three empty red water bottles are lying on the ground now, missing their owners, who are running away down the field, laughing. I help Angelina up to her feet and we all try to brush the water off our clothes, but don't accomplish much.
"I'm wearing a white shirt!" I scream out to the boys, who are doubled over with laughter by a tree.
"We know!" Lee shouts back. Agh!
"We also know that you're wearing a blue bra," George calls out.
"That's it, I'm going to kill them," I say simply, starting to move towards the guys, who promptly start running away again. Angelina reaches out and grabs my arm, holding me back.
"Let 'em go, come on, let's go change before they come up with another way to see us naked," she jokes, and so Alicia, Angelina, and I all start to go back to my house.
"So how did you convince your mum to let us come stay here?" Alicia asks as we walk across the green field to my house.
"Well I told her that it was our seventh year next year and we would simply die if we couldn't see each other all summer...and of course I used the puppy dog face, so she said fine. And now-"
"And now we're all here for two weeks, right?" Angelina laughs. "That puppy dog face gets her every time." We go inside and up the stairs, water still dripping off of us. As soon as I reach the top, however, my mother's voice rings out.
"Ana! One of your friends is here!" I throw a confused look to Angelina and Alicia. Angelina suddenly becomes far too interested in the ceiling, and Alicia is looking intently at her fingernails.
"Who else did you invite here?" I ask suspiciously.
"Um...wemighthaveinvitedOliver," Angelina says quickly.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you right. Care to try again?"
"We might have invited uh...um...Oliver?" I freeze, my foot halfway to a step.
"And why would you do that?" I ask, false sweetness in my voice.
"Because he is our friend," Alicia says. "You said to invite our friends."
"I told you he didn't get to be invited! We were in the middle of a fight, remember?"
"Now what did he ever do to you?" Angelina teases.
"Wh-what?" I sputter. "Do I have to remind you? Got me detention, how many times was it? Ten times last year? And then made me fall off my broom, not to mention his arrogance and his-"
"Need I remind you that for our entire time at Hogwarts you two have been inseperable?"
"Well, that was before we had a fight," I say, repressing a grin. "And before he decided he likes to just get me angry!" It's true. That boy will go to any lengths to annoy me. Like last year, for example, when I was in Potions and he wouldn't stop flicking paper balls at me. I finally turned around and yelled at him, causing Professor Snape to quickly give me detention. "I can't stand the little...oh." I stop short as I see Oliver coming up the steps.
"Hey Oliver," Angelina says. "How's your summer been?"
"Good thanks. Hey 'Licia."
"Hey," she says, still grinning at me. Yeah, I do usually spend more time hating him than not, but we are usually pretty good friends. Okay, best friends, but that's only when I'm not annoyed at him.
"Hi Oliver," I say, my cheeks suddenly going red as I realize that I'm standing there, my hair soaking wet and my shirt soaked through...a white shirt at that. You can see right through it! "Fred, George, and Lee are outside," I mutter, twisting a strand of long blonde hair around my finger.
"Okay, thanks. Bye," Oliver says with a wink, disappearing back down the stairs and out the door. I stand there a moment before charging back down the steps.
"Where are you going?" Angelina asks, laughing hard as she follows me.
"To tell him that if he's staying here he is certainly not going to be so...so...so like himself!" Alicia and Angelina laugh and grab my arms, holding me back.
"Don't you think you should change first?" Oh, yeah. I laugh slightly and double back to head up the stairs.
"Good idea." Once we're upstairs and changing, I glance out my window, down onto the field where Fred, George, Lee, and Oliver are all now flying around on broomsticks, the red Quaffle shooting between them all. The four of them are inseperable when they get together. "I really don't like him," I mutter to Angelina and Alicia. "I really don't." I turn in time to see them exchanging knowing glances.
"Sure," Alicia says.
"Okay, well we're friends, but only until he annoys me. Which is all the time," I say, finally laughing as I start to brush out my long tangled hair. Alright, I love the little git, even if we are always fighting. In fact, there's usually a poll running between all our friends on when our next argument will be. All laughing, Alicia, Angelina, and I head down the steps and out the door, back into the bright sunlight and over to our friends. We reach the spot where they guys are now throwing a Bludger at each other's heads.
"Oh, you're dry now," Oliver says, smirking.
"Hey loser," I laugh, going over to give him a hug. "Long time no see." I break the hug, dodge a Bludger and run back to safety. The sun's rays beat down on my face, and I grin, happy that it's summer, happy that my friends are here...just happy.

Wow that was different! (Me: See I told you! Now was it boring?) Nooo, I guess not (me: yay!)
So what did you think? Message and rate please! The next one may be out tonight, depending on whether or not Quizilla is cooperating =)

Wonderful! *messages and rates 5*

So there's a lot of changes in this one! Ana and Oliver are best friends instead of enemies! But trust me, this is all going to turn out muuuch better in the end for them...and it doesn't mean they'll be getting together anytime soon *cue evil music* No, no, I have lots planned for this...although I do promise most of it is the same, the small plot lines are changing dramatically! Message and rate please I need the encouragement!
