It was your first kiss, the one with Yuki, though, you werent sure if you actually considered it that. You brought your fingers to your lips, lightly brushing it against them.
I revived Kyo...does that count? I mouth to mouthed him...Yuki kissed me...
At this you blushed. "Are you feeling okay, Miss ________? You look a bit flustered." Yuki questioned, interrupting your thoughts, while he brought the back of his hand to your forehead. "It would be a shame if you had gotten a fever on my account." His eyebrows furrowed in concern, as if nothing had happened between the two of you. But...you liked it that way.
"Nope!" You gave him a reassuring smile. "I'm fine! Just thinking."
"If you say so," He nodded, turning toward you and returning the friendly gesture.
You gave him one last grin before your eyes dropped back to the worn dirt path, as you and Yuki made your way back to the house from the forest.
So I guess it evens out...They were both my first kiss. They were two half kisses! Which makes a first kiss!
You reasoned in you mind, finally coming up with a satisfactory result, just as you felt Yuki's hand on your arm.
"We're here," he whispered, pausing before the entrance of the house. Yuki turned his body toward you, as you did the same, staring into his violet eyes. "I will treasure tonight, Miss _______." He told you, a warm smile lining his lips. "My only regret is that it came to an end. I suppose this is goodby-"
You covered your ears and yelled "LALALALALA" at the top of your lungs, stopping him from going any further. A startled expression crossed his face, as he stared at you, your hands quickly dropping back to your side. "Goodbye...never say goodbye." You spoke softly, your eyes darting from the ground to Yuki. "Never say goodbye...because parting is never sweet."
"I'll remember that." He replied, his voice hushed, and a warm smile tugging at his lips. "Goodnight, Miss _______. Have sweet dreams."
You turned upon entering the house, calling over your shoulder, "I will! 'Night!"
Later that evening, you lay in your bed, unable to sleep. The room in which you resided was so dark, that you couldn't tell the difference when you closed your eyes, or opened them. For at least a half-hour you rested there, trying to drift into slumber. This was to no avail, as you sighed, flipping onto your side.
A light tapping above you caused you to freeze, listening to the nimble, yet distinctly audible sound above you. For a moment or two, the beat of footsteps startled you, but, upon remembering Kyo's favorite hobby, you immediately relaxed.
You listened as the beat abruptly stopped and a louder thump was heard. Waiting for another movement, you sat there in silence, but only heard the wispy sound of your own breathing.
You lightly dropped from your bed and stepped toward the closed window of your room. Prying the glass frame apart from the sill, you looked upward to find a sturdy tree erected right outside your window.
Carefully, you jumped out and shimmied up the slender trunk, hoping the frail boughs would not snap beneath your weight. Hand over hand, at last you reached the top, and, holding your breath, you leapt onto the shingles of the original Japanese roof.
Kyo had not noticed, for he lay on his back, staring at the night sky, as you and Yuki had done only a bit before. You crept forward, minding to be quiet and just as you reached him...
"BOO!!"
"CRAP!!" Kyo yelled, jumping upward and nearly falling off the roof. He turned angrily toward you, "Stupid woman! Do you want me to die?"
You leaned over the edge to stare at the ground below. "You wouldn't die Kyo, I have faith that you would've survived!" An innocent smile beamed of your face as you gripped the roof, still peering to the grassy floor.
"Let's see if you survive!" Kyo mocked, pushing you toward the edge. You let out a yelp and began to fall, only to be swung back toward the security of the roof by Kyos strong grip on your waist.
You breathed heavily as Kyo laughed. "You actually thought I was gonna let you fall? Dumb." He joked, conking you on your head.
"Idiot!!" You kicked him, angry that he had given you such a fright.
"Moron...What are you doing up here anyway?" He questioned leaning back.
"Why do you want to know?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"JUST BECAUSE! SO TELL ME YOU DAMN GIRL!"
"Well," You yawned, "I couldn't sleep."
It was warm and comfortable on that rooftop, in the company of that boy. You lazily closed your eyes and tucked your hands beneath your head, snuggling closer to Kyo. He flinched upon you motion, but attempted to relax as you fell in to a slumber, filled with wonderful dreams about...him.
But Kyo stared at the sleeping figure of that girl, gazing up to the stars hoping for an answer. But he did not expect a blessing from heaven, for God would not answer his prayers.
I have to tell her. No one will lead me through, stand by my side this time. Its up to me now. Even if it hurts her.
I dont care.
Even if she hates me...
I want to know how she reacts...to the true me...
Out of my own selfish intentions. I want to know.
Shes not as strong as Tohru...but...even if she hates me...I won't let her leave.
This is so selfish...
...but...
I'm through lying.
The last bell rung, signaling that the school day had finally come to a close. A few minutes later, you ran up to Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru, who stood near the school entrance waiting for you.
"What took you so long?" Kyo demanded, as you replied by shoving a flyer in his face.
"End of Year Festival? Why do I give a crap?"
You handed another flyer to Yuki as he read over it also. "See below?" You questioned, receiving a nod from both boys. "As of now you two are the last entries for the festival's show!" You Exclaimed, racing your arms in excitement.
"What?!" The two questioned in unison.
Tohru smiled from behind you, as she had already known.
"How do I get out of this damn thing?!" Kyo shot you a glare, his eyes darting back to the sheet of paper.
"You can't." You pointed to a line at the bottom of the flyer, turning it so both Yuki and Kyo could see. "All entries and withdraws must be submitted by May 7th, 2:40 PM" You read out loud.
Kyo thought for a moment, "What day is toady?" he questioned.
"May 7th."
"Time?"
"Umm...2:45 PM."
"Why you!!!" Kyo wrapped his hands around your neck.
"Miss ______, What do we have to do in this...show?" Yuki asked politely, but you could tell that he was rather shocked and agitated by this sudden news.
"You can do whatever you want, but I put you down as singing."
"What if we cant sing?!" Kyo interrogated, rage building up inside of him.
"Then it would be fun to watch you try!" You teased, as you ran out the school doors as fast as you could, Kyo chasing after. The ever-composed Yuki and Tohru bothered not, but merely walked slowly behind.
This night was not nearly as beautiful as the last. Gray clouds hung over the moon and there were no stars to be seen. A chilly wind blew through the trees, rustling the leaves in a foreboding, restless storm. It was tonight. He was going to reveal himself...tonight.
"Tohru...Don't go outside." Kyo warned, a questioning look obvious on her face. "I'm going to show _____ my true form...tonight" He explained, avoiding Tohrus stare. Her usually cheery face fell, as she looked to the floor, reminiscing the first and only time she had seen it. Her friend would be in pain. So much pain...
Kyo turned and walked away, turning at the door of ______'s room.
This was it.
