Anger is one of the most destructive emotions humanity deals with on a regular basis. Anger, in and of its self, is not harmful however if anger is allowed to turn into resentment there is a problem. In addition, if anger is not expressed appropriately it can result in havoc in your life.

If you can focus your angry energy in a good way, not only will your anger dissipate, but you'll also be accomplishing something with the energy. Wasting your energy by ranting around or complaining a lot, is not going to help anyone, least of all you. It's much better to focus this energy and do something about your situation with anger management techniques.

After the intensity of emotion fades, your logical mind can take over and you can decide what's next. Since you know that the base reason you're angry is that you didn't get your way, you can start to think about exactly what isn't going your way and what you'd like to see happen instead. Then you can go a step further and decide if it's something to insist on, compromise about, or let go.

Play the diffuse game. Pausing to ask yourself a few questions helps reduce anger. For example: How much do I enjoy this feeling? How strongly do I want to feel this anger? How long do I want to feel it? Anger can prevent us from thinking.

Pausing long enough to answer these questions allows you to re-engage your brain and decide how you want to handle your anger. Accept that not everything in life can or needs to be set right. Many times when we try to set things right, we just muck it up that much more. Sometimes we just have to release it and move on. Treat it like the dust it is, shake it off your shoes and walk on into the rest of your life.

Expressing your feelings for self help anger management is healthy. However, expressing it in an angry and uncontrollable manner can be dangerous. You can learn to control your anger through free anger management classes and meetings. However, there are other techniques that you can use.
For some, recognizing and accepting that they have anger management issues are difficult. This is probably because they are afraid to receive negative feed backs from other people or they are too upset that they do not seem to realize that they are indeed angry. Either way, it is very important to initially accept and recognize that you are struggling with anger management so that you will realize what should be done and what are the solutions to prevent the possible effects.
