"Ash...come on, wake up. We're about to pull into King's Cross."
"Huh?" I slowly opened my eyes. Olivia sat on the opposite seat, leaning in towards me.
"Nice sleep?" She whispered, grinning. I raised an eyebrow and sat up straight. That's when I realized what she had meant. I looked over and to my
horror, it was Draco's shoulder I had been sleeping on! But he was sleeping too...so I doubt he noticed. If he did, I'd never hear the end of it....
"Why didn't you wake me up before!!" I whisper-scolded her. I quickly jumped to another seat.
"You two looked so cute...I couldn't..." she grinned. I looked around. We were the only three in there.
"Where did everyone else go?" I asked, ignoring her comment.
"You mean Crabbe and Goyle? They've been gone for awhile now. I think they went to chase the food cart." she told me. "I was with Francesca and
Blaise for a bit, and when I got back, you two were just sleeping there. I wish I had a camera..." I glared at her.
I looked out the window and watched as we slowly pulled into the train station. This was the beginning of a very long, depressing, holiday.
"Maybe you should wake him," Olivia turned to me, beaming. I shot her an icy glare and her smile quickly faded.
Just then, Crabbe and Goyle stumbled back into the car, pushing eachother, trying to get through at the same time. Goyle forced himself in first, pushing
Crabbe off to the side. Off to Draco's side, causing Crabbe to fall ontop of him. Olivia and I watched as Crabbe struggled to get off. Draco was
now starting to wakeup.
"Wha..." he began saying, opening his eyes. "CRABBE?! What in bloody hell do you think you're doing??!" He exclaimed pushing Crabbe with all his
force. Crabbe fell onto the floor, making a loud thump.
"Don't be so cruel, Draco, he was just trying to take your guys' relationship to the next level." I smirked. Olivia and Goyle erupted into fits of laughter
until Draco shot them both cold stares. Goyle stopped, and Olivia tried, but she just couldn't stop giggling.
"You'll pay for that later." he hissed at me.
"I'm shaking."
"...and this is where I take off," Olivia cut in. The express had come to a stop and people were now getting off the train. We turned to eachother and
hugged tightly. "Good luck." she whispered to me.
"I'll need it." I whispered back. This was followed by a certain someone's perverted cat calls. Olivia and I broke apart and she was the first one to
go off. Crabbe, Goyle and Draco didn't have any proper goodbyes. Not that I would expect them too. They would probably be seeing eachother the next
day.
"Let's go." Draco told me, grabbing his luggage case. I rolled my eyes, taking my own stuff and followed him out of the car and down the aisle towards a
set of doors. He stepped off and stood there, waiting for me to.
Oh what a gentlemen. Sense the sarcasm.
"I'll help you," I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around and saw a guy who I only knew from one of my classes that that term. He was a Slytherin
and I think his name was Demetrius or something similar. Now he was handsome. Tall, tan skin, dark, curly, hair, piercing brown eyes... I could
go on forever.
"Thanks," I smiled, certain that my cheeks were dark red. He flashed me a quick smile and took my luggage from me. He got off and set his things and
my things down and held his hand out for me. I took it with pleasure as he helped me down. "Thanks again," I said, but he had already gone off. "Take
any notes?" I asked, coming up to Draco who was just rolling his eyes.
"Please," he muttered and began walking towards an exit. I followed him outside where I expected there to be a car waiting for us, but instead, he
kept walking. So I kept following.
"Where are we going?" I asked, but was left hanging. I followed him around a corner at the end of a street and straight into a shop I had never noticed to
be there before. It was a stationery store that seemed to be collecting dust. There was no one else in the shop...or I hadn't seen anyone else, anyway.
Draco and I walked to the back, behind the counter and into a dark backroom. He pulled out his wand and pointed straight out.
"Luminos!" The room was litup. It was an empty room made from brick, except for the fireplace standing at the far wall. He turned to me.
"The address is twenty Chilton Court."
"Address?? We're flooing?"
"No, we're singing."
"Well thanks for telling me, Draco, how the hell was I suppossed to know to bring-"
"Here." He shoved a small bag of floo powder to me.
"What, you just had this so conveniently in your pocket?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, actually."
...
He flooed first and I went after him. I felt like I was being thrown down by a powerful force and I landed face forward on something hard. It wasn't rock
hard though, so I didn't land on the floor, and the 'thing' under me began to move. I smiled, getting off.
"Thanks for breaking my fall, Draco." I patted his back. I stood up and saw...nothing. It was completely dark. "Well? Are you going to luminos or what?"
I asked.
"No."
"Well should I do it?"
"No."
"Mind telling me where we are, then?"
"The dun- the basement." he said, grabbing my hand.
"What do you think you're doing?" I pulled my hand back.
"Interested in getting lost?" He shot back. I sighed, putting my hand back. I couldn't really see him that well, but I could tell he was smirking.
"All the ladies want to get close with Draco..." he said. That was it. I gripped his hand as tight as possibly and jerked him towards me. I put both my
hands on his shoulders and looked up at him. I could hear him breathing. I moved my lips to his ear and whispered,
"Disrespect me one more time and you'll get another one."
"Another what?"
I grinned and kneed him in the groin as hard as I could. I heard him groan and saw his figure fall to the floor. I stood over him, laughing.
"Bitch!" he sobbed with pain in his voice.
"Get up pretty boy. It didn't hurt that bad." I rolled my eyes.
"You're a bitch." he muttered as he got up.
"So you keep saying." I sighed.
"Just come on." he grabbed my hand again, leading me straight. I didn't know how the hell he knew where he was going. I couldn't see a damn
thing. We turned a few times and continued walking for a good five minutes."Stairs up ahead." he warned and sure enough, we began climbing a long
flight of stairs. There must have been atleast thirty steps, it seemed neverending. Finally, at the top, I started to see a small gleam of light in the distance.
I followed him straight ahead until we reached what appeared to be a door. The light I saw came from the crack between the door and the floor. Draco
twisted the knob and pushed the door open to reveal a huge open field covered in snow.
"Wait a minute...what about our stuff?" I asked before anything else.
"Our house elves will get them." he replied.
"Ah. And where might this house be?" I inquired, seeing nothing but white fields ahead of me. He placed a hand on my shoulder and turned my body
about one-hundred and eighty degrees.
"There."
My jaw dropped. It was a frickin' castle! No exaggarations, honestly. It looked to be a quarter of a mile wide and atleast six stories high all made
of white brick. Draco smirked.
"Quite impressive, isn't it?" He asked as we began walking towards it. It turned out that we were in the backfields and that to get into the house, we'd
have to walk several more yards.
"How come the basement isn't attatched to the house?"
"Don't ask." he shook his head.
"Too late."
"Fine but I'm still not telling you."
"Fine. Be that way."
"I will."
"I can see that,"
"Good!"
"Okay."
"Alright."
"Why are you still holding my hand?" I asked, once I had realized that our hands were still binded.
"Why are you wearing high heels in the snow?" He said back, as if it were an insult. He still did not let go of my hand.
"Because I feel like it." I replied simply.
"Whatever."
"What about you?"
"What?"
"Why are you still holding my hand?" I asked again. He didn't answer, instead he just let go and kept moving forward.
...
We had walked through a set of big, black, gates and then through a number of gardens until we reached a door leading into the house. We walked
practically across the entire house to get to the living room, where Lucious and a very pregnant Narcissa were entertaining my mother. A house elf was
in the room, setting down a tray of wine glasses and a bottle of Chardonnay. Draco cleared his throat and the three looked up at us.
"Draco! You're home!" Narcissa struggled to get up. Draco bore a huge grin on his face and walked over to her himself, hugging her tightly.
"Mom!" I said, going over to her. She stood up and we hugged tightly.
"How was the trip? Alright?" she asked, as we broke apart.
"Was fine." I nodded. The Malfoys turned to me.
"Miss Ashley," Lucious smiled.
"Sir," I curtsied. "...and Mrs. Malfoy." I smiled graciously to both of them. "Thank you for inviting me into your home."
"It's a pleasure for such a lady such as yourself to grace us." Lucious told me. "Draco," he turned threateningly to his son. "...be a gentlemen and show
Miss Ashley her bedroom."
"Yes sir." Draco nodded in inferiority. He came to me and offered his arm, his father's eyes watching his every move. I smiled and took it, purely
because, as Lucious said, I was 'a lady'. And also maybe because my mom said I had to be.
The rest is in the results! Big dramatic part! --->
As soon as he led me into the hallway where we were out of sight from our parents, I took my arm back.
"Nice parents." I commented, following him towards another set of stairs.
"Nice mother." he said back to me.
"Yours is expecting...that's great." I said.
"Is it?"
"Isn't it?"
"Not when my father is just about one step away from walking out on her."
"What?"
"Don't bullshit. You know what I'm talking about."
"You've noticed too then, eh?" I said, feeling the tension.
"Yeah." he said as we reached the top of the steps.
"It sucks."
"Yeah."
"Maybe it doesn't have to happen?" I offered, following him down a narrow hallway lines with nothing but pictures of Malfoys past.
"How do you figure?" He asked, though he probably only did to humor me.
"If we talk to them,"
He laughed.
"You don't know my father." he told me. "If he wants something, it's his. There's no talking him out of it."
"Well maybe I have a better relationship with my mother!" I said defensivly.
"My father is a very convincing man, Ashley! If he gets through to your mother, that's the end!"
"What do you even care! You're his only son! Lineage to his deatheatery! He's not leaving you behind! You'll still have everything!" I yelled,
surprising myself even.
"Maybe you're okay with your father walking out on your mother, but I'm not!!" He shouted back. I drew my hand back and slapped him hard
across the cheek.
"How DARE you insult me like that?! You filthy sack of scum!!"
Ahh...drama...I love it. Well, if you did to, please rate and message! <3<3 and if anyone is interested in what Demetrius looks like...
