Aside from loud music, any other forms of noise like those coming from gunshots, explosives, factories, loud equipments, and even noise from traffic in the streets can contribute to temporary or permanent hearing damage.

Although hearing loss and ringing ears are two different conditions, it is important to note that most cases of tinnitus involve problems with hearing. Scientific research has actually pointed out that a person suffering from either temporary or permanent hearing loss can have a sure chance of developing tinnitus.

What can a person do if he starts to hear a ringing in the ears?

The very moment you hear a ringing in the ears, mild or severe, stop and think. What could be the factor causing your tinnitus at the moment. Have you been exposed to loud noise? Was there something that you did that may have triggered it? The moment you find the answers to your questions, stay away from that thing. If in case the ringing will still prevail, seek medical help ASAP.
