Dark Nights 13, A Trick and Sudden Death

"I've found you my pretty," she hissed reaching in towards you. Koji jumped forward and pulled her away from you. "You stay away from her Clarice!" "And I suppose youre going to make me Koji? You are nothing but Daniels lapdog, and not a very good one at that. Im going to kill her now," she glanced at Daniel with a sickly sweet smile. "He doesnt care!" you shouted stepping forward. "Why would he care what happens to me? Im just a toy to him! Hes just happy you dont know the truth!" "What?" she hissed spinning around to face you. Both men were staring at you in confused shock from behind her shoulders.

Koji was in the library, sitting on the table and pouring himself a drink. "Whiskey?" you asked coming in. He glanced up, "Hmph, I need it right now." "So what happened? Where's Clarice?" you asked glancing around nervously. "Shes dead," Daniel said quietly. "I killed her." "What?" you exclaimed, "I thought-" "If you sit down, I'll explain."
argh! what happened? u can't stop there!
huh? what? is it over? yay! i mean- uh crap!
hrmph! i wanted to find out whats going on!
Clarice turned back to Koji, "Take me to this girl, I'll bring you back her heart, shall I Daniel? Thats what part you like, isnt it?" Daniel blinked and you saw him clench his fist at his side. Clarice swaggered towards the door and Koji stalked after her. Daniel glanced at you quickly before shoving you back into the closet and slamming the door in your face. "Bastard!" you muttered making your way back to the shelf-like seat. You sat there until you hear the house become utterly silent, quieter than a graveyard at midnight. There werent even the classic sounds of an old house, no the timbers settling, no floors squeaking, no mice skittering about. After what seemed like an eternity of this you couldnt stand it anymore and got up, stiff and achy from staying in a cramped position for so long. You staggered to the door and pushed on it, it wouldnt budge. You wanted out of the stuffy darkness, you wanted some sort of noise, you wanted to run into the library, turn on all the lights and blast the TV. You slammed your fist down but the panel didnt even shudder. You hit it again and again, until your hand was sore and tingling from the impact, but the door had shown no sings of giving. Taking a step back, you threw your weight into it and kicked the door, it twitched slightly. A scream of rage escaped you lips as you kicked the door again. "Open Goddamnit!!!" you shouted kicking again but this time your foot didnt connect. The door swung open just before your foot reached it, a brilliant rectangle of light assaulted your eyes as you fell forward into a pair of waiting arms. "I was afraid youd break it," came Daniels voice from somewhere above you. He pulled you up and you saw he looked tired. "Whats-" "Going on? Here, we just got back, come into the library and I'll explain ma cherie."
*looks around nervously* Is she gone for good?
*slap* Its about time you started talking to me and not about me again! (Daniel: *rubbing face* Hey! Would you rather be dead?)
Is Koji in there? *skips down the hall*
"What truth?" she said her eyes boring into your own. "Oh, he has a woman, you're right there, but its not me," you spat venomously. "He doesnt keep her here, she has her own place and he goes to see her there. I've heard him say so to Koji before slinking out at night." Daniel was staring at you in wide-eyed shock but Koji had quickly recovered and was obviously thinking. Clarice was still staring at you, as if trying to discern the truth. "I see," she drawled at last. "What is the name of this woman?" "I dont know, its not like they'd tell me or anything, Im like the dog here." She smirked evily, "that you are my dear, but what a clever dog. And I'd have gone on and thought everything was taken care of after I'd killed you." She reached out and pinched your cheek. "Today you shall keep your life, and she- she shall lose hers. Daniel, who is this girl?" "There is no one", he said, his face a stony mask. Clarice smiled broadly, "Oh, now I know you're lying, you're always lying when you make that face." "I can take you to her," Koji said darkly. "If it will keep you away from my woman." "She is safe from me now," Clarice said looking back at you, while she was distracted Koji took the opportunity to mouth two words to Daniel, just two words.

Daniel! How could you cheat on me like that!?! (Daniel: *anime sweatdrop* seriously girl! I dont know whats going on)
