"Heads up!"
The two of us ducked as a quaffle ball flew right over our heads.
"Sorry!"
"You know there are some things I'm just not going to miss about Hogwarts." I told Olivia Beckenridge, as we walked by the quidditch pitch.
"Namely quidditch?" she offered.
"Namely quidditch." I nodded.
"Well you know we've only got a two week break, so you best 'not miss' it as much as you can." she helpfully advised me.
"Ugh," I groaned. "Don't remind me."
"What?"
"While you're off basking, down in south of France, I'll be sitting in like, a dungeon, with Draco Malfoy, watching as my mother
shamelessly flirts with Lucious." I rolled my eyes.
"Draco Malfoy? Ooh la la..." she grinned. I looked at her and shook my head.
"Eww, Olivia."
"What? You don't think he's sexy at all?"
"Looks and personality are two different things." I dodged her question.
"So you do think he's sexy."
"What I do think, is that Lucious and my mom are having an affair."
"Seriously?"
"Ever since my dad left us, Lucious has been extra nice to us. To my mom."
"Maybe he's just trying to be sensitive."
"You think inviting us for the holidays is suppossed to be sensitive?"
"It's hospitable..."
"It's an excuse to be together, that's what it is." I decided.
"Well what about Draco's mom?"
"Watch out!!"
The two of us ducked again.
"Sorry! It's hard to see in the snow!"
"It's red!!!" Olivia yelled back, talking about the quaffle ball. She went over to where it landed and picked it up, she winded up and threw it as
hard as she could back toward the pitch.
"Thanks!"
"I thought those things were suppossed to land slowly," I said.
"Who knows?" Olivia responded as we continued walking.
"We better head back to the tower. I've got to finish packing." I sighed, trying to figure out how many ways I could get out of staying at Draco's. My
count stands at zero.
[writer] Well personally, *I* wouldn't have any problems spending the holidays with Draco...
I muttered the password and Olivia and I stood back as a green and silver door appeared. We entered the Slytherin common room, where there were
mostly students packing to go home tomorrow.
"Goddamnit, Crabbe, close it already!" Draco commanded his chubby minion.
"I'm trying Draco!" he replied in a flustered tone. Olivia and I looked over to the left where the two stood. Well, Draco stood, Crabbe was
squatting over a black, leather luggage case, trying to shut it.
"Not like that, Crabbe!" Goyle walked over and shoved his friend out of the way.
"Ever try doing things for yourself, Draco?" I jested.
"Is it someone's time of the month?" he smirked, making his cohorts snicker.
"Go to hell." I folded my arms, looking in a different direction.
"Go to the mall."
"You don't even know what a mall is." I turned back to him.
"Either do you."
"Actually, a mall is a muggle term for-" a third-year cut in, who happened to be walking by. The two of us shot the same glare at him. He backed away
slowly.
"Fine. You go to hell too, then." Draco said back to me.
"Not if that's where you'll be."
"I'm inevitable, Ashley." he grinned, coming closer to me. Olivia had went off to the girls' dormitory by this time. "I can't wait for the
Holidays."
"Don't need a reminder, thanks." I sighed, rolling my eyes.
"It'll be you...me...and mistletoe. Who knows? If you're lucky, maybe more..." he said smugly. I made a disgusted face.
"You sicken me."
"You like it."
"You are conceited."
"You are uptight."
"You're a jerk."
"You're a tease."
"Am not!" My jaw dropped.
"You know you are," he grinned.
"Screw you, Malfoy." I began walking towards the girls' dormitory.
"Just tell me when and where!" He called as he and his friends laughed. I ignored him and walked up the stairs. "See? Tease!"
...
"Kill me now, please?" I asked Olivia and Francesca, another sixth-year, like us, as we brushed our teeth the next morning.
"Maybe it won't be as bad as you think." Olivia said. "I mean, it's not like he hates you or anything."
"Who?" Francesca asked while flossing.
"Draco Malfoy." Olivia answered for me.
"Draco the prefect?" Francesca's eyes went wide. "He's gooorgeous."
"I know!" Olivia agreed and two began giggling.
"So you're spending the holidays with him, eh?" Francesca kept raising her eyebrows, as if implying something.
"Yeah. But I'm being held there against my will." I informed her.
"There? You mean at his house? You are so lucky. I heard he lives in a palace...like a castle...like Hogwarts!"
"Great, maybe it won't be so hard to avoid him." I said, wiping my mouth with a towel.
"His home is quite breathtaking." Pansy Parkinson pranced into the bathroom. "His bedroom, especially."
Olivia, Francesca and I all looked at eachother, all thinking the same thing.
"So how have you and Draco been doing lately?" Olivia raised her eyebrows as Francesca and I turned to leave. Pansy glared at Olivia and turned
back to herself in the mirror. The three of us left.
"What was that all about?" I asked going over to my bed, where I left my outfit I picked to wear.
"You mean you don't know?" Olivia said, going over to her dresser.
"What?"
"Draco dumped Pansy at hogsmeade a few weeks ago."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Now that she's not associated with him anymore, no one really talks to her. She never really did talk about anything but Draco if you think about
it," Olivia said.
"I guess not." I shrugged, slipping a white turtleneck on over my camisole. My dark-blue jeans were next.
"So you think you'll hook up with him?" Francesca asked from her corner of the room.
"Uh, NO!" I exclaimed, pulling on the zipper of my jeans.
"Okay...then what was all that flirting yesterday?" Olivia inquired.
"What flirting?" I sat on my bed. I began unzipping my black, stiletto boots.
"In the common room, you know." she buttoned up a navy blouse.
"What you mean when he called me a tease? You call that flirting? And how would you know, you saw like two seconds of it." I defended.
"Two seconds of what?" Olivia grinned. "If it wasn't flirting, what was it?"
"It," I mimicked her tone. "...was just a preview of what will be going on all throughout the holidays."
"Woah, high heels Ashley? In the snow?" Francesca commented. I looked down at my boots which I tucked my jeans into. I shrugged.
"My mom told me I was suppossed to come dressed nicely." I scratched my head. "There is no way I'm putting on a skirt in this benumbing
weather."
The three of us finished getting ready and carried our bags down the stairs to the common room, where we set them down by some armchairs and
proceeded to go to the great hall for breakfast.
...
"Francesca!"
"Blaise!" Francesca's face litup as we walked by him. He was sitting near the center of the Slytherin table with Draco and of course, Crabbe and
Goyle.
"Why don't you ladies sit with us?" he offered, though he sounded like he was only talking to Francesca.
"Come on," Francesca pulled both of us towards the table. She sat right next to Blaise and Olivia sat next to her, so consideratly leaving me the
space inbetween herself and Draco.
"I knew you'd warm up to me." Draco smirked as I reluctantly seated myself. I gave him a dirty look and turned to Olivia who smiled.
"I think something's going on with Franny and Blaise," she whispered to me.
"You think?" I asked in a belittling way. She deserved it for making me have to eat near Draco. She frowned and started up a conversation with Goyle. I
began buttering a piece of toast when I felt an unwelcome hand brush against my thigh. I looked down and just as I expected, the hand belonged to Draco.
Without warning I jabbed his hand with the knife. The dull side though...I wasn't that cruel.
"Oww!" He winced, pulling his hand back. "Crazy bitch." he muttered. I turned back to my toast and continued buttering as if nothing happened. No one
else at the table seemed to notice anything either.

"You know what? Two weeks isn't even that long. It'll go by like that," Olivia snapped her fingers.
"Come on now, all aboard," Hagrid called, walking up and down the train platform.
"Have fun in France," Olivia and I hugged.
"You'll be okay, you'll tell me all about it when we get back." she said.
"If I survive..."
"Wait a minute, why are we hugging? We still have the whole train ride to King's Cross." she asked.
"Good call." I said, once I realized she was right. We broke apart and boarded the train, walking through the different cars with our bags, looking for
some friends. We walked past some Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs and even some younger Slytherins but we didn't find anyone our age so we sat
in an empty car we found and began talking about her vacation.
Too soon had the car doors slid open and Draco Malfoy walked in followed by his two parasites. It was a rare occasion when someone ever saw Draco in
school without those two.
"I just can't escape him, can I?" I whispered to Olivia.
"I heard that." He scowled. But then his face turned from bitter to mischief. He sat himself down next to me and placed his arm around my shoulders.
"You'll get used to me soon enough."
I hope you guys liked it. It took me a few hours to put everything together. I have big plans for this story so please give it a chance? Let me know what you think.
