[Slytherin's Heir] - A Harry Potter Spinoff - ((Part 23)) Letters, diaries and memories

Note:This part is rather long. Hope you enjoy it! There's much of dialogue and perhaps less excitement, but it's nice to calm down a bit once in a while. Anyway, part 23 is much of dialogue, so is part 24. It's all a matter of taste really, some people like excitement, others love dialogue. So I'm giving you some of both! Hope you enjoy,

"Robyn! Where the hell were you?" I heard Blaise shout as soon as I entered the Slytherin common room.
Great. Now everyone's looking at me. How am I going to explain this?
"I got lost. Happends when it's still your first month at Hogwarts and this bloody castle seems to change every day," I lied.
Blaise laughed as he walked over to me. "That's why I'm never letting you go somewhere alone again," he said to me, still smiling.
"No way...Are you going to become my personal stalker now?"
"You bet," he said. "But only when you ask for one."
"I don't need one," I said, smiling. "But thanks for the offer."
"No problem. Care to study together tomorrow?" Blaise asked, as we both went to sit down on a couch.
I shoke my head. "No, sorry, I can't, I have an appointment already. Don't kill me."
"Who with?" Blaise asked, sounding curious.
"Harry," I admitted. "But don't tell Draco."
"Don't tell Draco what?" I heard someone ask.
I turned around to see Draco himself. I bit my lip. "Erm...don't tell Draco that I have been practising for the first Quidditch match already?" I asked.
Draco shoke his head. "That's not what you didn't want Blaise to tell me. Now speak the truth. Come on, I haven't got all day."
I sighed. "Fine. I didn't want Blaise to tell you that I'm going to study with Harry tomorrow."
Draco's jaw dropped. "WHAT? YOU'RE GOING TO STUDY WITH THAT PIECE OF SCUM?"
"Yes, as a matter a fact, I am," I said calmly. "And don't call my friends Scum, Draco. I don't appreciate that, you know."
"But...How can you betray me like that?"
"I'm not betraying you, Draco. I'm just studying with Harry, that's all. Personally I don't see what's wrong with studying with Harry."
"Everything!" Draco cried out, as he sat down on the other couch. "Potter is bad news. Potter sucks. He thinks he's all so great and can get everyone he wants, just because some filthy mudbloods adore him. I hate Potter, along with all other Slytherins, apart from you! Now tell me how in the world can you get along with that stupid mudbloodlover who thinks he can get away with everything?"
"Draco, you don't know Harry at all," I said. "So don't judge him like you know him. It's not because you and your followers dislike Harry that I should. I might be one of your friends, but that doesn't mean I have to have the same opinion as you do."
"Yes it does!" Draco shouted. "You're supposed to be on my side!"
"Keep your voice down," I ordered. "And I am on your side, but I'm also on Harry's. And I don't care whatever you say, I'm still going to study with Harry tomorrow. That's final."
"Fine," Draco said. "You'll regret it anyway. One of these days, Harry's gonna leave you for his mudblood friends."
"Whatever, Draco, lets just drop the subject okay? I'm really not in the mood for this. It's Friday evening and what are we doing? We're arguing about Harry Potter. I don't think that's the best way to spend a Friday evening now is it?"
"No it's not," Blaise said. "We should enjoy ourselves instead of having arguements."
"Fine," Draco said. "Goyle, Crabbe, think of something fun to do."
Crabbe and Goyle both looked at each other foolishly.
Smooth move to ask those two to think of something.
"Hey Nightinggale, that bloody owl of yours just left you a letter," someone said.
That someone was none other than Pansy who was standing next to Casey, who was holding my letter.
"Yes, and, what's your point?" I asked annoyed.
"Guess who the letter's from? Casey asked.
Seeing the look on her face, it would probably be someone I never expected it to be from.
"I have no idea," I answered thruthfully.
Pansy smiled a wicked smile. "It's from...Ronald Weasley."

Why the hell would Ron write to me? (me: Read on and find out!)
I gasped.
Ron? Why in the world would Ron send me a letter?

"Oh yes," Casey said. "And I bet you don't have any idea what's in the letter either..."
Great. Not only they have stolen my letters, they have also read them. Wonderful. Can today be any better?
"No," I said.
"Well, it says... Dear Robyn," Casey read out loud. This was followed by laughter, ofcourse.
"I have no idea what happened tonight between you and Harry, but it worries me a lot."
More laughter.
I swear the next moron who laughs will die.
"Harry seems very angry and tensed and I cannot figure out why. The only things I could pull out of him were that he has met you after your detention and that he is going to study with you tomorrow, but I know something must have happened that has made him be like this."
Casey made an ugly face. "Ewww Nightinggale, you didn't fuck Potter did you?" she asked me.
I rolled my eyes. "We're not all whores like you Johnson," I shot back at her.
Some people laughed at my comment, some others didn't. They were looking at Casey worryingly, because she seemed to turn into the colour of a tomato.
"Whatever Nighttingale," she eventually said. "I'm not finished yet. Anyway, the rest of the letter... Harry's distracted, angry, and he seems to have a lot on his mind. He doesn't want to tell me nor Hermione. Hermione's blamed you and then Harry said she didn't know what she was talking about and should keep the hell out of his business. You know that's totally not something Harry would say. I'm worried about him, especially because I think his scar has started to hurt again, he's suffering from a major head ache. He just got back for about ten minutes and he's already gone up to his room, spending some time alone he said, but I think something has happened between the two of you that made him feel like this. Is that true or am I wrong? Can you please inform me what happened? I want to help Harry. He's also been saying something about the Chamber of Secrets and the diary, but I couldn't figure that out. Anyway, Hermione is even more angry with you now and it wouldn't surprise me if Harry keeps acting this way that Hermione will confront you anytime soon, she's actually furious now. Even more than before. She looks like a bloody banshee, I swear. Greets, Ron."
Casey smirked. "And here I was, thinking he would say 'Love, Ron' but no, just Greets. Oh well."
I looked at her furiously. "You had no right to read that letter in the first place, Johnson," I said to her.
"What's wrong, Nigtinggale? Didn't you want us to find out about your secret love affaire with Saint Potter?"
"Casey, you're going too far," Blaise said warningly, but she ignored him and kept looking at me.

"Sorry to ruin your dream, Johnson, but I haven't got a secret love affaire with Harry Potter," I said calmly. "And about what happened between Harry and I, I don't think I owe you an explenation for what I do in my spare time."
Even though I sounded calm and relaxed, inside I was boiling of fear. Chamber of Secrets...Diary? If Harry found out I took Tom Riddle's diary from the Chamber of Secrets, then I was in deeper trouble than I could even imagine. That would mean everything was ruined. All the plans Voldemort had so carefully made, all the things I had been going true to get to this point would also prove useless...Everything would be lost. And I had no idea how to save myself out of this one.
"What's wrong Nightinggale? Too chicken to actually face the truth?" That was Pansy speaking.
I sighed. "Parkinson, Jonhson, like it's not bad enough that you have no interest in living a life of your own but cannot stop interfering in my life, you also read through letters that were meant for me, probably only because you people never get letters, and now you're seeing ghosts. Why do you want Harry and I to have a relationship so badly? Is it because you have never had any relationship before or something?" I shot back.
The whole Slytherin common room was laughing at that comment.
Pansy and Casey looked at me furious.
"Whatever!" Casey suddenly cried out. "I'd rather be single than be a Gryffindor whore like you!"
Most people gasped at that comment and Blaise got up.
"I said you were going too far Johnson," he said to Casey, as he walked closer to her. "And I meant it. Back off and leave Robyn alone."
Casey just smirked. "And what are you going to do to defend that slutty girlfriend of yours?" she asked.
Blaise didn't even mind answering, he just hit her. Right into her face.
Hitting Casey had almost the same effect as hitting Hermione: she burst out crying too.
"Oh my god, Casey you alright?" Pansy asked, as she and several other Slytherin girls helped Casey up.
They left the common room rather angry.
I sighed.
How the hell am I ever going to get out of this if Harry knows about the diary? Fuck fuck fuck! How could I mess up things like that?
"Robyn," Blaise said, handing me the letter Ron had written to me. Appereantly Casey had dropped it. "Here. Now tell me what really happened."
"Yes, i'd like to know that too," Draco said.
The bastard. He had not said one word of defense when Casey was attacking me like that, what gives him the right to ask what really happened?
I shouldn't be too hard on Draco though. He hates Harry, that's all...
"Fine," I shortly said. "I'll explain to you too...But later. I have to go see Harry first."
Blaise raised his eyebrows. "You're going to see Potter...now? It's nearly eleven!"
"So what?" I asked. "I have to explain what happened to him. I have to explain him that I got lost...He might be worried!"
"Who cares?" Draco asked. "Aren't we somewhat more important than Potter?"
I rolled my eyes. "Draco, Blaise, you know you too are important to me, but you know I'm safe and sound and Harry doesn't know that. He might think Voldemort has managed to kidnap me or whatever...I have to go see him first. I won't stay away long."
"How do you know the way to the Gryffindor common room in the first place?" Blaise asked.
"Fred and George Weasley showed me," I quickly lied.
"Fine then," Draco said. "Go off to see Potter. But I swear you'll better be back before midnight or I'll go find that bloody common room myself and throw Potter out of the highest tower you can find in Hogwarts!"
"That would be the Astrology tower. And fine," I said as I got up and grabbed my schoolbag. "I'll be back before midnight...Wait...Why do I feel like Cinderella now?" I asked Draco.
"Oh shut up and get your ass out of here," he jokingly said. "And don't let Weasley send stupid letters like that to you ever again."
I smiled. "I won't!" Then I ran out of the Slytherin common room, more worried than I had been ever before in my entire life.

Oh my god I hope Harry didn't find out! That would be so bad.
I walked into the Gryffindor common room and then slowly made my way into the boys dorm. Thank god all Gryffindors were off to bed already. I didn't make any noise at all, but I could feel how my muscles tensed every step I came closer to Harry's bed.
What if he knows? What if I ruined it all?
"Harry," I whispered. "Harry, wake up."
I hardly could get those words over my lips. Firstly, I was nervous like hell, Secondly, Harry seemed so cute when he was asleep.
Did I actually say that Harry was cute? My mind is so messed up thanks to all this tension...

"What?" Harry asked. "Why? I'm slee..." Then he noticed me. "Robyn? What the hell are you doing here?" he asked me.
"I got a letter from Ron, saying that there was something wrong with you and I wanted to find out what," I said. "Ron told me you mentioned my name and such...Lets go to the common room to discuss this, okay?"
"Fine," Harry said, as he grabbed his glasses and got out of bed.
His pyjamas were cute too.
STOP THINKING HARRY IS CUTE.
Harry and I walked to the Gryffindor common room.
"Tell me what's going on," I ordered.
"Fine. We had been talking, but I forgot to ask you something. I wanted to know if you had the Marauder's Map or the twins, so I went back to ask you, but you were gone, obviously. I ran after you, or where I thought you had been going, but I couldn't find you. Then I came back to the place we talked, and I noticed a secret passage that had just opened. I don't know if it was open already when I passed there the first time, because I didn't pay attention to it...Well anyway, I got into the passage, and it led directly to the Chamber of Secrets. You know, where Voldemort kidnapped Ginny four years ago. I went in and noticed the diary of Voldemort was gone."
My jaw dropped.
He has noticed all that? I'm doomed! Wait...I'm not...He didn't see me in the Chamber of Secrets...He didn't notice Moloki was still alive...Plus the so-called return of Slytherin's Heir...Lying hour, Robyn!
"You're kidding me?" I asked.
"Do you see me laughing?" Harry asked.
"I swear to you Harry, I haven't seen that passage you're talking about at all! I went directly after we stopped talking, but I got lost, took the wrong corridor of something. It took me until 10 o'clock or something to get to the Slytherin common room! Everyone was worried to death and then I got Ron's letter... I was so worried about you that I inmediately went to here..."
"How did you know where the Gryffindor common room was anyway?" Harry asked suspiciously.
I sighed. "The twins showed me before...You're not angry with me Harry, are you?"
"I'm not," Harry said. "I'm worried. I believe you when you say you haven't been into the Chamber of Secrets, but the diary of Tom Riddle is gone and I have no idea where it is. The diary is very dangerous, Robyn, last time it took posession of Ginny, who knows who it might control this time. I don't feel like going through the whole Chamber of Secrets-adventure again."
"I get what you mean, Harry," I said thruthfully. "It worries me too that the diary is missing...we must find out who has it or what has happened. Regarding the message on the wall the other week, I think it probably has been missing since the beginning of the year.."
Harry nodded. "History is repeating itself. It's very worrying. We better figure out what's going on...Or well, I will, if you don't want to get involved in this, I'll do it on my own..."
"No, Harry," I said. "I want to help you if I can. Listen, the diary is most probably after you and you're my friend: I don't want anything to happen to you. So tell me what I can do and I'll help you, alright?"
Harry smiled. "Alright. But it's no use worrying about things like this at midnight, we better worry about it tomorrow...The study-date still going on?"
"Sure," I said, smiling. "Wait a second...It's midnight already?"
"Yes," Harry said. "Why?"
I sighed. "Great, Draco's going to kill me. Help me find a good subject we were talking about that got you upset?"
"Huh? You told him?" Harry asked.
I shoke my head. "No, hell no! Casey did. She got Ron's letter before I did and read it out loud. Now Draco and Blaise want to know why you were upset and all...You know what, I'll tell them that you found out I was a Slytherin Seeker and was worried because you're afraid I'm going to be a better Seeker than you are..."
"But," Harry objected.
"No buts, Mr. Potter," I said. "I gotta run now. See you tomorrow, Harry!"
I ran out of the Gryffindor Common Room and barely managed to make it to the Slytherin Common Room before it's was quarter past twelve.

Oops I'm like way too late...Hope Draco won't be angry with me!
"I WAS WORRIED TO DEATH!"
"Get a hold of yourself, Draco," I said. "You're waking everyone up. It took a little more time than expected, but..."
"Robyn, don't you get that everytime you go out the common room late at night, that's just another chance for the Heir of Slytherin to kidnap you or kill you or worse?"

Blaise looked at Draco and I questioningly. "The Heir of Slytherin?"

"It was just a stupid children's joke, Draco, don't get all high upon it," I said. "Voldemort's diary got destroyed by Harry. It's dead. D-E-A-D. And I'm in totally no danger when I go out late."
"You are! What if the diary is not destroyed, eh? Knowing Potter, that wouldn't surprise me!" Draco said.
"Goddamnit, Malfoy, what are you? My freaking dad? CALM DOWN A LITTLE!" I yelled.
Luckily Blaise, Draco and I were the only ones left in the Slytherin common room, because the noise would have certainly woke some people up.
"I'm not! I'm just worried!" Draco said defending himself.
"Well don't be! I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself."
I sighed. "I'm off to bed."
"No you're not. First you gotta tell us what happened between you and Potter."
"Harry's upset because he thinks I'm a better Seeker than he is. And you know how much he loves Quidditch."
"Hell yeah you're a better Seeker than Potter!" Draco cried out. "Everyone knows that."
"You sure that's all he was upset about?" Blaise asked suspiciously.
"Yes!" I said. "Yes! Now excuse me, I have to wake up early tomorrow...See you!"
I ran off to my dorm, ignoring both Blaise and Draco's comments on me leaving them standing there.
I opened my bookbag and got the diary out.

Sorry that took me so long. Harry got suspicious. I had to make sure he didn't suspect me.
It is good...that Potter trusts you. We can use that in our advantage...You are still planning on killing Potter, aren't you?
Yes. But not the first months. I gotta keep low, so people trust me, Tom. Voldemort's idea. He wants me to stick around in the Wizarding World, even after Harry's death.
Stop calling him Harry...It's like you...you are his friend...when you say that.
I am his friend, Tom. Or so he thinks...It's really stunning to see how easily he trusts someone.
You don't have to tell me that. He trusted me...right away...and I'm a talking diary!
I smiled.
I see you still have your old humour, Tom. That's good.
Ha, yes, I know...What month is it? What date?
September, 21st. We still have about 9 months to kill Harry, so I wouldn't stress it.
It is a good idea...to own his trust first...Then we can break him...Before we kill him...
You have never murdered anyone before, have you, Tom?
No, I haven't. It was only later on that Voldemort killed his...my father. But I would not mind killing Potter...I would not mind it at all.
There's something you should know. After killing his father, Voldemort completely changed. He got darker, more mysterious, more dangerous, he changed into a snake lying in the grass, able to kill anyone at any time. He was never the same again after he killed his father.

Did you miss him?
I don't get what you mean, Tom?
Did you miss the person he was...before he killed his father...The person he was and...the person I am?
Honestly? Yes. I missed that person a lot. But he's back now, isn't he?
I'm still...weak. It will take months...to get my strength back...
We have months. We have nine months. It will work. Don't worry. What can I do to help you get your strength back?
Write to me, Robyn...Feed me. It helps me if you write...Keep writing, long parts...About the reign of Voldemort...I enjoy those stories...
Alright, Tom.
So I wrote. Whole night long, until six thirty in the morning. Then I put the diary away and went to get a shower.
I had not slept in days and it was starting to weigh on me. Normally I could manage to get some sleep once in a few days, but since I came to Hogwarts, memories of my past, along with nightmares had been torturing me in my sleep and had been the reason to keep me up many nights.
My wrist hurt from all the writing, but I didn't care. I felt happy. As if I had refound an old friend I had lost ages ago.
Tom Riddle, the memory in the diary, that was the person I fell in love with, that was the man I would trust my life to. It was his dark side along with his innocence, the fact he was not yet a murderer, that made him so attractive for me.
I would have given my life to go back in time to when Tom Marvolo Riddle still existed and Voldemort was not yet born, but it is not in my power to go back in time.
Perhaps if I could, and make sure he never murdered his father, perhaps then the present life would be far more joyful. Perhaps Voldemort would have never reign the world and Harry would be happy with his parents. But I could not waste my time trying to guess what could have happened, I had to move on.

I got out of the shower and dryed my hair.
A part of me will always be missing, no matter what. That's the part that lives in the past, the part that still runs around Hogwarts with Sirius, collects pictures of James on his broom and practises the Dark Arts with Tom in the dungeons of Hogwarts. But the rest of me will have to go on, no matter what, because the future is too important to worry about the past.
Suddenly, I stopped moving, as I looked into the mirror and saw the reflection of myself.
I might not be able to change the past...But I can change the future...I have the chance to repay for my mistakes. I have the chance to save James' son...But will I take that chance or will I let fear guide me?
It's no matter of fear or courage, I decided. It's what will keep me alive or will kill me. And I'd rather stick around on this world for another while.
I sighed and put my clothes on. Sometimes worrying about the future is exactly the same as worrying about the past: useless.
That was deep. Rate and message please. <3 EM.
