Okay, this is a re-writing of One Piece with a new character, Cruz Vaughn (aka you). Just a few notes: 1)I'm following the manga, so it'll be a little different than the anime series 2)b/c it follows the manga, there will be some waiting until the next volume comes out for me to go by 3)I'm giving you a name, look and all that good stuff. You'll find out more about yourself as the story goes on. Also, in case you didn't notice, this is a Zolo story. Finally, I'd really appreciate it if you guys would rate and message me. This is my first real attempt at a story, so any comments or constructive criticism you have would help. Okay, now I'll shut up and get on with the quiz!
Okay, here's a little background of yourself:
Name: Cruz Vaughn (cruise vawn)
Age: 19
Height: 5' 9"
Looks: chin-length dark auburn hair w/2 pieces that fall in front of your ears to frame your face, fair skin, intense blue-hazel eyes, scar over your left eye that is several inches long. Long-sleeve purple button up, low-rise jeans, black leather low-heel knee-high boots w/3 buckles on the outside, black leather fingerless gloves that come up to your elbows.
Fighting: A genius of an illegal form of Taijutsu (hand-to-hand) which you mastered at 10. You also use a tetsugin, a knife attached to a wire. The wire wraps around your left glove from the wrist to the elbow, forming a plate of wire. >>The knife is like a kunai knife w/the wire attached to the handle< <
Personality: For the most part, your very calm and reserved. You're pretty laid back most of the time. You're also opinionated, confident, and soft-spoken, but you can quickly become ruthless, spiteful and vindictive. Since you're so controlled and cynical, you frown on excessive displays of emotion. You're very observant (you are a spy, after all) and analytical, and have an almost unhealthy love for explosives and a compulsive gambler (which isn't a problem since you usually win >>cheat< <).
Background: SECRET! You'll find you more as we go along.

~~~~~
On an uncharted island, a pirate ship was docked. The captain of this fine vessel was currently inspecting how well the crewmen were doing their jobs. The captain ran a finger along the bulwark, and was not at all pleased with what they saw. "Why is there dust on my bulwark?"
These words chilled the pirate's blood that was suppose to clean the ship and he immediately stammered out, "A thousand pardons Lady Alvida!! I-I though I'd cleaned every inch of this ship!" The captain, Lady Alvida, turned menacingly toward the man. "Please, not the iron mace!! I-I don't wanna die!!" His pleas went unheeded as Lady Alvida smashed him upside the head, sending the man -- hopefully just unconscious but most likely dead -- flying across the deck.
Alvida turned toward another crewman. "Koby! Who is the fairest throughout all the seas?"
Koby sweated and chuckled nervously while giving the answer all the crewman did... or at least those who valued their lives. "Why YOU are... Lady Alvida!! No one compares to you!!"
"Correct!! Which is why I will not tolerate ANYTHING dirty!! The ship I sail in must be as clean and beautiful as I am. Understand?" Alvida turned to face Koby and threatened, " Remember Koby, were it not for you vast knowledge of the seas, I would have feed you to the sharks! But don't push your luck!"
Truer words were never spoken. Even a blind man could tell that Koby was definitely not pirate material. A small pink-haired kid with round coke-bottle frame glasses and apparently no spine, as he was currently sitting on the deck and trembling like he was freezing. "Y-Yes... That's very kind of you," he replied shakingly.
"Other than that, you're worthless! Here, shine my shoes!!"
"Y-Yes Lady Alvida! Right away!"
Lady Alvida returned to tormenting- I mean instructing her crew. "I don't want to see even one speck of dust on this ship!!!"
"Aye aye!"
Now you're probably wondering what kind of person this Alvida is. Well, the lady pirate "Iron Mace" Alvida can be summed up in one word: conceited. Which you'd think would be hard to do considering how... unattractive she is. Guess that why she carries a large mace. Hell, let's face facts, she was ugly. Short and fat with a big mouth, she looked more like a blob than a woman. Her ability to swing a mace more than made up for this by allowing her to beat anyone who didn't agree with her into a bloody pulp. "That's enough!! You're pathetic!!" she yelled while kicking Koby away. Koby stammered out an apology. "If you've got time to grovel, then you've got time to scrub the toilet!!"
"Yes milady! Right away." As Koby turned to leave he fought to hold back his sobs. God, how he hated being here! And how he hated himself for not having the guts to leave!
"Yo," Koby heard someone say. He quickly turned to find fellow pirate, you, Cruz Vaughn walking toward him carrying what appeared to be a rum barrel, and he let out a sigh of relief. You were the closest thing to a friend he had here. You worked as a spy and occasionally oversaw the explosives, and you were also to only woman among the crew. Koby was unsure why Alvida would allow you to stay here, considering how much better you looked (of course that didn't take much).
"You okay Koby?" you asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little roughed up is all," he answered.
"Here," you said placing the barrel on the ground. "I found this barrel floating on the beach. Why don't you take it to the storage shack? Should keep ya out of Alvida's way."
A smile formed on his lips. "Sure, no problem."
You smiled slightly as Koby scurried away. Ever since the boy had been forced to join Alvida's crew, you'd taken it upon herself to look out for him. He hadn't chosen to be here, like you had. Deciding you'd best get back to work, you returned to patrolling the beach. As a spy, it was your job to make sure no one sneaked onto the island. Alvida had a pretty good sized bounty on her head, after all.
"Vaughn!"
The call could be heard over the entire beach, and you wasted no time answering the lady pirate. "Yes, Captain?" While you were confident you could take her (being a highly skilled martial artist) you didn't really want to worry with her right now.
Turning to you Alvida asked, "Were you aware that the bounty hunter Roronoa Zolo was on the island?"
You blinked. "No ma'am. I've been combing the beach and never saw any sign of a boat or anyone else. Besides, the marines locked him up not that long ago."
"Never underestimate your opponents, isn't that what you always say. If he's as clever as they say, he could have escaped. But whoever he is, apparently he showed up in a barrel." Immediately, you knew what had happened. You remembered the barrel you gave Koby had seemed a tad heavy and clunky for a rum barrel. Instantly you regretted giving Koby the barrel. You'd intended to keep him out of trouble, now he was in some serious hot water. "Him and that traitor Koby headed for the woods."
"Aye-aye Captain. I'll find them and deal with them immediately," you answered in a serious tone. Alvida nodded as you ran into the woods, determined to find Koby and the stranger before Alvida. Fortunately, it didn't take you long to find them. After all, you knew these woods quite well, and Koby and the "bounty hunter" weren't exactly being quiet. "Koby, I'm glad I found you," you called as you came through the trees. There you found Koby talking to some strange boy you'd never seen before. He looked a few years younger than you, maybe seventeen. He was a skinny looking boy with messy short black hair, dark eyes and a scar under his left eye. He was wearing a red button-up vest/shirt, cut-off blue shorts, sandals and an old-looking straw hat. Just by looking, you could tell that he was a pretty laid-back and outgoing person, but not exactly the brightest star in the sky. Roronoa Zolo, he was not.
"Vaughn!" Koby greeted. "Oh, Luffy this is Vaughn. She's one of Alvida's best pirates."
"Nice to meet you!" Luffy said as an impossible large grin spread across his face.
"Hi," you replied hesitantly. The boy didn't seem like bounty hunter material, so who was he? "Alvida's lookin' for the two of you. I'd suggest you high-tail it out of here."
"Don't worry about it, Vaughn," Koby replied. "Luffy's gonna help me escape."
You raised an eyebrow. "Oh is he now? And just how do you plan to do that?"
Luffy blinked. "What do ya' mean?"
"I mean, how are you gonna get yourselves outta here without Alvida pounding you into the ground?" Luffy just laughed, causing your brows to furrow. `Is this guy nuts?`
"Well, time to go," he announced.
"KOBY!"
"Well, there's your chance Mr. Luffy," you said. When Luffy looked at you funny you added, "That's Alvida now."
Alvida screamed as she came out of no where -- how that's possible considering how big she is I don't know -- and smashed Koby's ship to pieces. "You little sneak! Did you really think you could escape from me!?" You, Koby, and Luffy looked on at Alvida and her crew. "Is THAT the bounty hunter you hired? Well, he certainly isn't Roronoa Zolo."
"Zolo?" Luffy looked confused. He turned to Koby and asked "Hey, who's that tough-looking old biddy?" Everyone's jaws dropped, while you looked at Luffy like he'd grown two heads.
Alvida quickly recovered and raised her mace, preparing to attack Luffy with maximum rage, and smashed it down onto his head. But where there should have been a large bloody spot, Luffy only smirked and said, "That didn't hurt! 'Cause I'm made of rubber!" While everyone was gawking at him wondering what the hell was going on, Luffy prepared his own attack. "Gum-Gum Pistol!" His fist shot out, sending Alvida flying.
The crew stood over the body of their fallen captain, unable to believe what had just happened. "H-His arm stretched like rubber," one said while another screamed, "He beat Lady Alvida! He's not human!"
"Give Koby a dinghy!" Luffy demanded. "He's gonna join the marines!"
The men quickly agreed, since they were afraid of what would happen if they didn't. Koby was extremely grateful. As they both headed for the boat, Koby came up and grabbed your hand. "Vaughn, why don't you come with us?" He really hoped you would. He didn't want to leave his friend behind. "She can come too, can't she Luffy?"
Luffy gave his big goofy grin, "Sure can!"
You thought about it for a moment, then shrugged your shoulders and said, "Sure, why not. I was getting kinda tired of working for that woman." Koby looked downright ecstatic and practically dragged you onto the ship.
And so the small ship made its way into the sea carrying its three passengers. "You must have eaten the fruit of the Gum-Gum tree," you observed. "First time I've ever met anyone who has."
Luffy grinned at you. You'd only just met, but he already liked you. After all, you were smart, pretty, and a pirate -- what wasn't there to like? "Yup," he answered. "I accidentally ate it when I was a kid. Since then, I've been training real hard so I could become a great pirate, just like my idol, Red Haired Shanks."
"Incredible!" Koby said. "But Luffy, if you're going after One Piece that means you'll have to enter the Grand Line."
"Yep!" was Luffy's only answer.
"They call it the Pirates' Graveyard," Koby warned.
"That's why I'm assembling a super crew." He turned to face the others. "That guy imprisoned at the marine base... What's his name?"
"Roronoa Zolo," Koby answered.
"If he's a good guy I'll let him join my crew!"
"Now you're talking crazy again!" Koby cried while you just raised an eyebrow at the two boys. "Never, never, never! That'll NEVER happen! That guy's a demonic beast!"
"A demonic beast, huh?" Luffy asked.
"Roronoa Zolo is his real name, but they call him 'Zolo the Pirate Hunter'," you said.
"He's like a bloodthirsty hound," Koby interjected, "roaming the seas, hunting men for the bounties on their heads! They say he's a demon in human form."
"Hmm," Luffy pondered on this before turning to you. "You're a spy, right? Do you know anything about him?"
"People tend to exaggerate, so it's hard to tell facts from rumors." You thought before you continued, "All I know for certain is that he's a swordsman and is feared by many pirates." Of course you had heard many things about this man, but it was hard to tell what was real and what was just the result of sensationalism.
"Luffy you can't be serious!" Koby began again. "He's a pirate hunter! Pirate hunters don't mix well with pirates!"
"I haven't decided whether I'll invite him to join my crew or not. If he's a good guy, then I'll-"
"He's in prison because he's NOT a good guy!!" Koby cried.
You just shook your head in amusement at the two boys. `Or maybe he's made some powerful enemies.` You kept this to yourself however, because you didn't want to mess up Koby's vision of the marines. "So Koby," you interrupted, "are you really gonna join the marines when we get there?"
Koby's face broke into a huge smile. "Well, I'm gonna try. It is my dream, after all."
You smiled. "I'm glad. I'm sure you'll make a great marine."
Koby laughed nervously and blushed a bit at your comment. "I certainly hope so."
