One Shot Pete Wentz ft. Lore

Here is one of the three one shots I wrote for my dear friend Lore. The two following are about Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross.

I stand in front of the mirror. With nothing to wear but my underwear. My bed is piled with dresses, skirts and tops. Shoes are on the ground. Tonight is my senior prom. And… I have nothing to wear.
Suddenly there’s a knock on my door. I turn my head and see Saskia enter.
‘Geez, sis. Don’t tell me you’ve got nothing to wear!’ She says.
‘Well, I might as well go like this,’ I say while pointing at my underwear. ‘It’s not like I have a date or anything.’
And now, three years later I stand in front of another mirror. Again the bed is piles with dresses, skirts and tops. Shoes are on the ground. Only tonight is not my senior prom.
In a few hours I will be at the coolest concert of time. Fall Out Boy is in town and I will be there, joined by Saskia. And all though I’ve got all these new clothes since I moved to New York, but again I have nothing to wear.
There’s a knock on my door and my friend Saskia enters. In her hand she holds a beautiful red dress, with her finger she points at the shoes next to my bed.
‘You should wear this, with those black high heels,’ She says.
She walks closer and hands me the dress. She gets down on her knees and picks out the black high heels.
I put the dress on and Saskia helps me with the zipper. With the high heels on my feet I do my hair and put on some simple make up. I look at myself in the mirror and find myself looking quite elegant.
When I enter the living room I see Saskia on the couch. She wears a beautiful green layered dress with silver ballerinas on her feet. Her silver necklace and earrings make a perfect fit. Her hair is curly, opposite to mine which is straightened.
‘Sas, you look very pretty, I’m sure you’ll get lots of attention tonight!’ I tell her.
‘Thank you, I actually think I can wear these ballerinas all night. No heels for me with my feet,’ She says.
She looks at me with a smile and hugs me.
‘Oh and by the way, you don’t look so bad yourself!’ She says and smiles.
‘I got troubled thoughts.
And the self-esteem to match.
What a catch, what a catch.’

I dance until my feet are hurting. I find Saskia at the bar with a drink for me.
‘Man, this concert rocks!’ I yell at her, trying to top the music.
I get a smile from her and I know she’s enjoying herself as well.
Suddenly I get tabbed on my shoulder.
‘I’m sorry. But can I have this dance?’ The boy behind me asks. I see Saskia burst into laughter so I turn around.
Behind me stands a young boy, probably 5 years younger than I am. But he’s cute and I don’t want to spoil his mood so I say yes.
When I get back to the bar Saskia is smiling. She gets her phone out of her purse and starts texting, when she’s done I get her phone.
‘I’m leaving with a bartender. His name is Martin and he’s super cute! Will you be oke? ’
I delete her message and start texting back.
‘I’ll be fine. You go and have fun. Be sure to clean up after yourselves. Lol. I’ll take a cab home!’
I give her back the phone and a second later she smiles. She comes closer and gives me a hug.
Then she’s gone.
I decide to dance a bit more on the awesome songs. But at the end of the concert I just sit at the bar and drink some cocktails. I watch the boys on the stage, working their best. Just to enjoy the crowd.
I don’t think I could ever be in a rock band. I look at each of their faces, when I reach Pete’s face we lock eyes. It’s like an electric shock goes through my spine. Quickly I look away and take another sip of my drink.
The next morning Saskia comes running into my room. Since I was home late last night, her running gives me a headache.
She sits down on the side of my bed and shakes my arm.
‘Lore, you need to hear this!’ Saskia says. I open my eyes and see Saskia’s eyes all red.
‘Saskia, what’s wrong?’ I ask her while I sit up.
‘He’s dead… You know… Mr. nice guy from downstairs?’ She says.
‘How did he die?’ I ask her with shock.
‘He overdosed. And now Fall Out Boy doesn’t have a manager anymore,’ She says before she starts crying again.
‘I guess we should go to his funeral, he was always so kind. Never mean and he gave us all the information we needed. We even got concert tickets. He was a real nice guy…’ I say.
‘The funeral is in two days. I will miss the dude, I liked him!’ Saskia says.
Two days later we go to Mr. nice guy’s funeral.
When we enter the graveyard I immediately recognize the boys of Fall Out Boy.
I tell Saskia and a smile appears on her face. I hear that the Mr. reserved two seats for us.
Right across the Fall Out Boys. Suddenly I get the feeling he planned this whole thing.
The whole funeral seems too organized. Like he knew he was going to kill himself. And right before he did he made sure Saskia and I were seated across from the boys.
When the pastor asks if anyone would like to say something Saskia puts her hand in the air.
I immediately start blushing. Only Saskia could pull this off.
‘I just wanted to say that I really liked Mr. Nice guy. He was a nice guy. And I will miss him,’ She says.
The Fall Out Boys laugh at her. I kind of feel sorry for Saskia, but right now I dislike her for putting her hand up.
I start to wander throughout the graveyard.
I find all these old graves fascinating. The forgotten names, the ages of death.
‘Fascinating, huh?’ I hear someone ask.
‘Yes, I find it fascinating. That may sound freaky… but it’s the truth,’ I say.
‘I know what you mean,’ the voice says. I turn around and find Pete Wentz behind me.
‘So, are you like fans of ours? Or stalking? Or are you here because you really liked him?’ He asks.
‘Well, we’re here because we really liked him. He always helped us out. As for us fans…’ I tell him, trying to hide a vague smile.
‘So he gave you information about us? I already started to wonder why I saw you at a lot of concerts, but now I know,’ Pete says.
‘You noticed us?’ I ask.
‘Yeah, especially three days ago. I think they call it ‘locking of eyes’?’ He says.
I burst out into laughter.

I find myself across from Pete. At my kitchen table. Eating pasta.
‘Made it myself, do you like it?’ He asks.
‘Yes, I like it. Just as I liked your pancakes this morning, and the burritos last night,’ I say.
‘Your cooking skills are quite good,’
‘Don’t forget to tell Saskia that we’re all going out tonight!’ Pete says.
‘I won’t forget. I couldn’t forget my one year anniversary with you. Gosh, can you believe that it’s already a year?’ I ask him.
‘I’m glad I locked eyes with you that night. And I still find graves fascinating.’ He says with a smile.
Pete gets up from the chair and kisses me gentle on the lips.
‘I’ve got late band practice, but we’ll be here at eleven. Just in time to see you beautiful girls all dressed up for a night out,’ He says. I grab his head and kiss him back.
‘We’ll be ready when you get here!’ I say.
‘So, where are we going?’ Saskia asks.
‘I have no idea. The boys are taking us some place. Just let it be a surprise,’ I tell her.
‘But I don’t like surprises! And neither do you!’ She says.
‘But maybe I’ll like this one!’ I tell her.
And indeed I did. After we got all dressed up all the boys went wild.
They took us to some well known club in the city. We danced all night.
Especially when they turned on some Fall Out Boy music. The lyrics entered my head, I closed my eyes, and I danced and forgot the rest around me. My moment got disturbed when the music got disturbed. I open my eyes and find Pete standing in front of the microphone.
He sings a song. And for some reason, I think the song is about me.
‘The girl in the room is alone with her thoughts and the music.
The girl in the room is alone but lives with the sound in the air,
How could she pass by me? I see you everywhere…
Help me find a way of falling closer to you,
I’m half-way there, Girl in the room.
I see you everywhere….’

When Pete gets back to me I put my arms around his neck and rest my head against his chest.
‘You know… I’ve never told you this, but I think now is the right time,’ He says. ‘I love you.’
I smile and whisper the same words back. Pete kisses my hair. We dance together for the rest of the night.
When we’re heading home Saskia joins me on the street.
‘Are you happy, Lore?’ She asks. I put my arm around her and kiss her on the cheek.
‘Yes, Saskia. I’m happy. Are you happy?’ I ask her.
‘Yes, I am happy here. I’m glad we took the step together… leaving home and coming here,’ She says. ‘Oh and I’ve had a little too much to drink, so don’t wake me early… please.’
Pete and I say goodnight to the other guys and walk inside. I get undressed as we enter the bedroom.
Pete whistles. I smile.
‘Pete Wentz, have I told you…’ I start.
‘How sexy I look with my shirt of?’ He says. I smile and sit on his lap.
I kiss him and together we land on the bed. He kisses me with more passion. I can feel his desire.
He has his and I have mine. But before we dive in I finish my sentence.
‘I love you too, Pete.’ I finish. We kiss and fall asleep a few hours later, after a romantic night.
