One year had passed since you'd first gotten the Millennium Jewel, and you had entertained yourself a lot by using your powers of illusion. At the moment, you were creating things for Marik to enjoy. "Sami, can you make me a bird? I've always wanted to see a bird!" You smiled as Marik looked up at you with pleading eyes, and nodded. "Of course I'll make you a bird, Marik!" you said. And, using your powers, you made a miniature peregrine falcon. (They're the fastest birds in the world!) Marik laughed with joy as he watched it fly around your chamber, and looked on in awe as it landed gracefully in his hand, before disappearing in a confetti of sparkling lights. You both laughed as the confetti became fireworks that flew to the ceiling before exploding into many different colors. You sighed happily, thinking, 'If only every day could be this happy.' But unfortunately, today was never destined to be a happy day, but nothing prepared you for what was going to happen next. You heard noises, and turned to Marik, who didn't seem to hear the strange sounds coming from the end of the hall. "Marik, I think you need to get back to your chamber now!" you said urgently to him. He looked in your eyes, and even though he was only young, you could tell he knew there was something wrong, so without a word, he hopped off your bed and ran through the corridors to his chambers all the way at the other end of the tombs. You got up from your bed slowly, and began walking slowly towards the end of the hallway, your mind racing. 'What is going on? I haven't heard sounds like that before!'
Oh no, something really bad is going to happen isn't it? (Me: Gee, you think?!)
(Yawns) The news is on, maybe I'll watch that; it would be a lot more interesting! (Me: I hate the news, screw you, this fic IS interesting, and I am the quiz maker and you shall obey my every whim or face my deadly wrath! MWAHAHAHA!!)
Aw, Marik was so sweet! I want him, I want him, I want him, please can I adopt him and take him home? (Me: Depends if you send me a nice message or not.)
What the heck is going on in this crazy place we call a home? (Me: Um, nice way to think about your tomb, uh, I mean home!)
Cold to your blood, you gazed around the room. Taking in everything; your mother's corpse, your father's dead body, the blood... Something in you was broken that night. For someone only five years old, you had seen too much for your age. Your father's suicide had no effect on you, but he'd murdered your mother...that was what crushed you. But the room was in no condition to be seen by the Ishtars. You knew you had to clean up, so you gathered all your courage and strength and pushed your parent's bodies against the wall while you got water from the underground well and mopped the floor clean of blood. To keep yourself from vomiting while you did this, you sang to yourself, making up little songs in your head. "Sweet nothingness could take me away and I would welcome it with open arms. And though my mind would suffer temporarily it would stop the alarms. Are those bright lights I see at the end of the tunnel meant for me? Nothing makes sense other than the terrifying thought of endless eternity. Cold is my heart now that I am tired of putting on cheery facades. For even when my tortured mind is sleeping my conscience never fades." You discovered you had a beautiful voice, but you pushed that thought from your mind as you finished mopping. Now came the worst part. The bodies were still there. You had to do something. So you gathered your mother's body in your arms and dragged it to the place where the corpses of the elders over the generations were placed, and put it there. The place was an underground river that leaded to a secret location. You set the body of your mother on a raft that was tied there, and watched with tears in your eyes as she floated downstream. All your father deserved was to be buried in the desert, so that's what you did. You left the tomb for the first time in your life, and left your father's body on the ground, covering it with sand, before leaving to go back to your parent's chambers. You looked through your mothers things, and came across an address. Hiroshima Law Service, 142 Takahashi street, Japan. Reading through the documents that bore that address (Yes, you can read; you are a very bright five year old) you found out that they were your mother's lawyers. 'Of course!' you whispered, 'Mother is from Japan, and she came to Egypt and married father...she might have a will that these lawyers know of!' So you spent the rest of the night writing a letter to the address, informing them of your mother's death, but not including how she died. Making your way back outside of the tombs, you ran to some buildings you could see in the distance, which turned out to be a small village, and found a post office. You posted the letter, and, with a heavy heart, you walked back to your tombs and the chambers, collapsing asleep on your bed.
Jeez, how sad is this? We have to dispose of our own parent's CORPSES?! (Me: Well, no one else would help you; Marik is too young to handle corpses, his mother is dead too, Ishizu doesn't deserve to see dead bodies, and Marik's father couldnt give a stuff!)
This sucks. (Me: Point taken.)
We are so tortured inside, and we have dealt with so much...could it get any sadder? (Me: Well, I could kill Marik off if you wanted.)
You do realize how incredibly cruel you are to your main character? (Me: Well I'm very sorry, but it was in the works over a year ago and I'm not going to change everything I had planned to make it a happy ending!)
"NO, MOTHER!" you yelled, but it was too late to do anything; you were helpless, like a fly on the wall, and all you could do was watch. Watch as your father drew from his belt the same knife he had used to engrave the scars on your back, and raised it to your mothers throat. "Sami," she cried out, "I love you!" You couldnt move as, finally, your mother was silenced, her throat sliced open with the knife. You screamed as you saw the blood gushing from her neck, and her body fall, limp and cold, to the ground. Unable to comprehend what had just happened, you sank to the floor, crying, not even caring that your father could see this display of weakness. Hearing your father laugh maniacally, you looked up, hatred evident in your sapphire eyes. But you winced once more as you looked up. Your father was covered in blood. 'My mothers blood...' the words ran through your mind and made you feel sick. The only person who had ever loved you was dead; killed in cold-blooded murder, and this psycho was standing there, covered in her blood Which is why you felt happiness running through your mind when your father, mad with his own power, took the knife in his hands once more, and slit his own throat.
WTF?! Why did he do that? He must have been really mad! (Me: Your mother just died, focus on that!)
Well, this quiz just got a whole lot more interesting than before! (Me: I know!)
Good God...would you mind telling me why you did that?! (Me: I've been planning it for a month, do not question it!)
Oh my Ra...I think I'm about to be sick! How could he do that? He's the cruelest person in the world...thank Ra he's dead! (Me: I sympathize with you, it was really horrifying!)
You followed the noises until you reached a doorway at the end of the hall, and you hesitated, deciding whether or not to open the door or not. 'I have to! Mother may be in there, and I have to help her!' So with that thought, you slowly eased open the door. What you saw made you cry out in both fear and repulsion. There was blood all over the floor, and it was splashed on the bed in the room. "Sami, get away, he'll kill you!" Your mother was there, you realized, and you turned to face her. You hadn't seen her before because she too was covered in blood, and seemed to camouflage with the floor. "Mother! What has he done to you?!" You cried out, weeping. "Brat, what the hell are you doing here? Get out! Wait, actually, don't get out, this could work to my advantage," your father appeared in the door opposite the entrance of the room. "What have you done to her, you...you monster!" Hissing at your father, you rushed to help your mother. She was bleeding all over; in her stomach there were five gashes from a knife. "Don't bother," your father sneered, looking at you with a smirk on his face. "She's already dying, there's no point trying to help her!" You gazed at your mothers pale face, and saw he was right. Her life force was growing frail and weak. You stood up, and strode over to your father, who was laughing to himself about his success. "WHY?! WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL HER? GET HER OUT OF THIS TOMB AND TO A HOSPITAL!" No matter how much you shouted, your father still ignored you, instead, walking around to your mothers feeble body. "This should shut you up, brat," he yelled. And with that he pulled your mother's body from the floor, wrapping one arm around it so she was held up with her back facing your father.
What the hell is he going to do to her?! (Me: Read...just read)
This is not good! I mean the quiz, not the situation. (Me: I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves and I will sing it to you if you don't shut up!)
My eyes! My squeamish and blood-sensitive eyes! I'm blind! (Me: One would think this was a yaoi lemon quiz by the way you're acting!)
Well, this turned from good to bad all too soon for me! (Me: What about your mother? Sure you are mortally terrified but SHE is bleeding and dying! People, sheesh!)
Last question: Who do you want to be paired with? Rate, and message me with what answer you put to this question!
Marik! He is so cute and amazing!
Yugi! (WTF?! No way in heck are you going to be paired with Yugi!)
Mokuba! He is so sweet and cute, not to mention innocent!
Seto! He's so smart and those gravity-defying trench coats rock!

Well, this was probably the hardest thing I have ever had to write in my entire life, but I hope you got a good dose of angst...Next chapter is a little bit less angsty, I would hope... But please don't hate me for killing off the mother, please? She was going to die either way; either in a car crash or being killed, so I chose the more dramatic death. So sue me. At least the father is dead! Well, rate and message!
