Gotta Get Away From Me. [[Ryan O'Reily]] 6
So, while I was in Oklahoma, I watched Oz every single day and it gave me a lot of ideas for this story and I've even gotten some messages from a few people requesting I go on with it. So here it is folks after a long hiatus, part 6.When I was half-way home I called Tim McManus from my cellphone. "Yeah." he said when he answered, he always sounded stressed.
"Hi, Mr. McManus? It's Lucy Ray, I was just calling to ask you a question."
"Oh yeah, shoot." he said, almost sarcastically.
"Uhh, yeah. Anyway, today my interview with the O'Reily brothers was cut short because of a lock down in Emerald City, now, I understand that lock downs are pretty serious, especially in Em City, but I want to know if that is going to interfere with my scheduled interview tomorrow?"
"It might, it really depends on what we find and who's in trouble... or hell, if we decide to let them out again once the search is over."
"Well, sir, with all due respect, I really need you to maybe bend a rule or two because I am on a deadline and I need that interview." I said sternly.
"Well, since you're trying to do your job, I'll make an exception. Just come in the scheduled time and we'll figure something out." he said.
"Thank you so much, Mr. McManus. And... just out of curiosity, did you find anything in Ryan and Cyril's room?" I asked.
"Well, that's confidential, but since we didn't find anything, no." he responded.
"Oh, that's good. Alright, well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yep. Bye." he said, then hung up. I got back to my apartment and checked the answering machine, no messages. I didn't know why, but I was sort of hoping there would be a message from Ryan. I sat down at my computer and started reviewing my notes from the day before and attempting to atleast start my article. At some point I fell asleep because I was awaken by the sound of my phone ringing. "Hello??!" I answered, groggily and excitedly.
"Waiting for me?" I heard Ryan's familiar voice say.
"No, the phone just scared me, I was asleep." I said, I didn't want to sound desperate.
"Yeah, sure. I'm kind of sad that our time together was cut short. You're coming tomorrow right?" he asked.
"Yeah, I almost wasn't able to. Aren't you supposed to be in your pod right now? I thought the place was on lockdown."
"I told you I have my ways around. You'd be amazed at what you can get C.O.'s to do with a porn-o and 60 bucks." I sort of laughed that the statement.
"Well, I don't want you getting into too much trouble and getting yourself sent to the hole, then we won't be able to have our time together." I said, there I go again, flirting with a dangerous criminal.
"So you do like spending time with me? I'm telling you, Lucy, spending an hour with you is better than any congical I ever got with my ex wife." he said.
"Wow... I don't know if I should be flattered or creeped out."
"Well, I'm guessing you're flattered because you haven't hung up yet. I do have to go though, I'll see you tomorrow beautiful." he said, then hung up. I don't know why, but I was really smitten with him. None of this can possibly turn out good.
