Ronnie Puno - Women and Children Protection Desks in PNP Stations

DILG Secretary and Napolcom Chairman Ronnie Puno commented there is now a girls and children Protection Desks in each municipal station in the country.
'There is already a girls and children Protection Desk in each police station in each town in our country,' Ronnie Puno said. 'So in each municipality, our ladies and youth now have a place to turn to for help.'
These centers will be headed by female officers with the main purpose of providing a snug and relaxed feeling for women and youngsters when looking for police help. They're going to be the ones to handle cases of violence and abuse made against girls and children, which includes trafficking and exploitation under R.A. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against girls and kids Act of 2004.
The PNP's goal, Ronnie Puno claimed, is to be certain that these WCPDs are working in each municipality as'one-stop shops' for the investigation and treatment of victims of child abuse, violence against ladies and other similar crimes.
In Camp Crame, the WCPD center already established 1,830 WCPDs across the nation staffed with 2,728 female law enforcement officials, of whom 1,951 have experienced training on sex sensitivity and the basic investigative abilities in handling crimes against ladies and children.
