I Woke Up Next To A Half-Naked Bad Boy in School [26] And He Suddenly Made Me His Personal Slave?!

This chapter is a 'bridge' connecting to how Samantha could make her own decisions later in the story (that's as far as I'm revealing ;P). Rachel asked her to plan another party yet again and after the hectic week she went through the last time she did that, she wasn't too fond of the idea.

"Samantha," Rachel called out. I looked up from my new cookbook which I bought earlier today in town. I discovered that my type of cookbook was with the lots of pictures one, or else I wouldn't even know what cumin or coriander were.

The good news was that the kitchen didn't blew up yet...and there was no bad news.

Until Rachel told me something I really could do without.

Andrea had already left for her flight back to UK a few hours ago, and Brandon was still out jogging. So it was the only two of us in the household. "Thank you," I said sincerely, setting the temperature a bit higher and getting the wooden ladle.

"Arrange a party for me again for the next Sunday."

If I was the Incredible Hulk, I would turn green right now.

"But..." I said, trying to protest. When I turned around, she was gone, and the door was swinging back and forth. I gripped the ladle hard and firm. Even if I face her and said no, it would just be too hard. But I didn't want this either.

I covered the pot of stew after a while of stirring and walked glumly outside. I had not fully recovered from my fatigue from yesterday, and she wanted me to arrange another one?

"Oh, hi."

God, do you enjoy tempting me to do sins with this boy?

My cheeks tingled by heat when my eyes saw Brandon with a towel around his neck and his chest bare. This was ridiculous! It was just a human body for god's sake. I looked up again and forced my eyes to look directly into his eyes.

One mistake after another. Figures.

Maybe I should just be blind.

I wondered how I could break the news to him.

"Brandon! Your mother is a total bitch!"

No. NO!

"Hey," he replied. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," I replied in a hurry. "I was just cooking."

"Do I need to call the fire brigade now?" he asked, smirking. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "I'm doing just fine, thank you. And since your mother would be away to her lawyer's office this evening, it would be just the two of us."

That sounded so...weird.

"The two of us, huh?"

"Yes," I said. "And there's something else..."

"What is it?"

I was dying to tell someone about this. To tell someone other than Rachel herself that I didn't want to suffer two sleepless nights again just because of her. But realizing that Brandon loved her, I shut back my mouth, having second thoughts about it.

I could confront Rachel immediately before things screwed up, instead of backstabbing her to her own son. "You'll be the first to taste my dish," I finished, grinning slyly. He pulled a disappointed face and I punched him playfully.

Good, we were warming up to each other again.

Now. To find Rachel.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Rachel, I'm so sorry but I...I..."

She have the most menacing look that anyone ever gave me. "Yes?" she said tightly. It was as if she knew what I was going to say, and didn't want me to say it. "Any problem arranging the details, Samantha?"

"Not at all," I said before I could stop myself.

I seriously need to talk to someone before doing this again.

So two hours later in dinner, Brandon was my only bet. Not really safe, but worth a try.

The food came out great. Nothing got burn, nothing was damaged, and I was proud to say that nothing tasted like crap. It wasn't the best thing in the world, and judging by the presentation of my own good I thought it would taste utterly horrible in the first place.

"Surprisingly," Brandon cooed, and laughed when he saw my expression. "It's great, Sam."

"Thank you," I said stiffly. I wasn't eating much since I was too busy gathering my thoughts to make a proper speech between an unsatisfied..err...'employee' and her 'boss'. But so far I got nothing except, "Listen. I do not want to help your mother anymore. Not after what I've been through last week. Nu-uh! Why? You're asking me WHY?!"

Nervously, I brought the spoon up to my lips. Just tell him, I told myself. "Hey B," I said, giggling for no reason. I mentally slapped myself and brought my hand up to my forehead. "I...your mom. Believe it or not she asked me to arrange another party due to this Sunday!" I threw in casually, although it didn't sound casual at all.

"Oh yeah?" he said. "That's great news!"

No it was most certainly not!

"I don't...really think that it's great news," I said, not able to look at him in the eyes. We had such a lovely evening together, and I was the one who was going to have to spoil it. I even managed to convince Brandon to forget his phones.

That was a very hard thing to do as his BlackBerry and his phone were starting to look as if they were parts of vital organs in him.

"The thing is, I worked non-stop everyday for last week to complete her freakishly specific demands. I never thought anyone could make such a fuss over the invitation cards," I said. No seriously, I didn't understand why. I barely see any difference between ivory white color and light champagne-y color. And it was just for the invitation cards for god's sake!

He grimaced. "I thought you had so much fun with it," he said. "And my mother have her needs. It was her party, after all," he defended instantly. I could feel he would do or say anything to be defensive over his mother, so I just nodded and said, "Right."

"Come on, let's watch a movie," I said, in hopes to change the subject. I got up and washed my dishes. Ever since I did all of the dishes myself from the first moment I stepped into Compton's manor, I was getting my work done faster.

"Hey," he said, surprising me from behind. He placed the dishes in the sink, then placed his hands on either side of me. "Distance, Brandon," I said curtly, cracking my knuckles. It was not a form of threat. It was just that my hands felt tired.

He chuckled. "Bear with her for a couple of days okay? I could see how tired you are," he said, patting my head and messing my hair. I frowned and had the impulse to throw a hissy fit, but I didn't know what we were supposed to do after throwing one of those things. Stand there awkwardly, expecting results...or...disappear in a puff of smoke...?

I rubbed the back of my neck with my hand. "I suppose," I replied. I couldn't do anything about this, after all. But that didn't mean that I won't keep trying. I would only help Rachel as far as I could before I could 'resign' from being her event planner...

Which was basically a death wish in a way but still.

As I sat next to Brandon who reluctantly agreed to watch How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days, I was completely shut out my thoughts about the party. And the next couple of days for me was the most horrible days I could ever experience in my senior life.

I wished I was one of the girls who could stomp their foot down bravely if they mildly disagree with something, but I was not...at least...not yet.
