"Is this really breathable?" Danny asked, a very stupid question mind you...considering that there was a sign saying it was 100% Breathable next to the Do Not Sit sign. "It doesn't look like it is..."

"Danny, what are you doing?" I hissed. "I assure you, sir, that it is breathable," the sales lady said. He cocked an eyebrow. "I don't believe you. If someone was to kill me and you lied to me about this pillow, I would die...and I would haunt you. My ghost would sue your fucking ass."

"Who the hell would kill you?" Amber asked, but Danny ignored her. "You could buy it and test it out sir, I'm sure--"

"But that would be a waste of money. And according to this shop's policy, items are not returnable. Is this some scam for your own selfish needs?!" he replied, glaring. "I demand to try it...NOW!"

Without waiting for an answer, he jumped on the bed face-down. We all gasped and the sales lady looked as if she could kill when Danny started to thrash about...as if he was choking. He managed to mess up the whole bed too.

"This is a very crap pillow. Let's go to Bed, Bath and Beyond," he said calmly.

"What's this?" Brandon asked, looking up from his work. "Are you blind or illiterate? Read it yourself," his father said coldly. He ripped the envelope open and started to read the gold and silver card. In the next 4 seconds, he was trying to find out who the hell was Hugh Reid.

"Oh that guy," he said, finally recalling who Reid was. Hugh Reid owned a series of companies, and a tabloid. "Well, err...have fun."

"I'm not going to that god forsaken dinner, you are."

He expected as much. His father hated Hugh Reid with a passion, but any person in the real estate business must admit that Hugh Reid's annual events were the perfect opportunity to network. And judging by their business status currently, Compton needed to get some investments going.

"Fine," he said. "I'm bringing Kemp with me though," Brandon muttered. Not like his father knew who Dahlia Kemp was. He...didn't really think that his father knew anyone's name in the Detroit office. "I can't deal with Hugh Reid alone."

A part of Brandon, he noticed with dread, didn't want to go. He wanted to stay home and play video games all night long like he used to when Andrea was in charge. The wish to stay was stronger than ever, and he started to frown at his own attitude.

The company's plummeting down and he suddenly wanted to go against his father's orders? That's new.

And Samantha's voice in his head kept repeating itself over and over again.

"You're just 17."

"Amber!" I exclaimed as she climbed on the platform that was 'guarded' with velvet ropes. On one pole, there was a sign reading, 'Do Not Sit'. In the middle of the platform was a piano. I knew Amber was a grade 8, but honestly...

I was expecting guards to throw us out of the mall by now, judging by the pranks we made. She started to play a very...eerie piece. I looked around and Danny was laughing, but other people were looking at us in curiosity. Some looked depressed.

A giggle escaped my throat when I saw Amber pounding the keys down with her tongue sticking out of her mouth while she head-banged. "Hey Sam," someone said, tapping my shoulder. Surprised, I turned to face whoever that person was.

"Jake! I should have cut out your tongue a long time ago," I teased and he laughed. "I'm sorry. I was just hanging around here with my friends," he said, motioning towards the huge group of people that was cheering and head-banging along with Amber.

Oh god, I wanted to laugh.

"Yeah well, this is practically everyone favorite place to hang out," I said, grinning. There were so many food franchise around here, what teenager wouldn't love it? "WOOO!" someone from Jake's crowd of friends cheered loudly.

"What...who is that?" Jake asked, and I finally laughed. "Amber, she's my friend," I said. "Excellent skills," he joked, and both of us laughed. Danny joined Amber on the platform, pounding on the other side of the piano loudly. He learned piano and violin when he was a kid, but he stopped playing, claming it was boring.

So he picked up bass guitar instead.

Maybe that was why when Amber played a complicated string of notes, he was playing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. More people seem to climb up on the platform though, and someone handed Danny a guitar while at the other platform was a set of drums.

Seriously, we were in luck when they announced that the musical instruments fair was open in the lobby. They played wonderfully great; I didn't know what the name of the song though, but I've heard it numerous of times on the radio.

"Come on, let's dance," he said, taking my hand and both of us started to dance in rhythm. People who saw this started to follow, and others started to take out their camera phones and started to record the whole thing.

I wished Brandon was here.

I looked around again, and even the guards didn't seem to mind much. There was no way that 2 men could stop this crowd. I cheered on and everyone followed. "We're making a scene!" I said loudly over the loud noises.

"You don't get to do this everyday," Jake replied, lightly taking my hand and twirling me around. I curtsied playfully and we laughed. I was having so much fun.

That was, until I caught sight of Evelyn who was staring at me with pure hatred.
