The Third Wheel. {One-Shot for guaychica} A Jonathan Cook One-Shot
This is for guaychica hope ya like it! ok i changed the name when i realized just how retarded it soundedOne-shot for: guaychica -------------- July 1999------------- “I had a great time,” thirteen-year old Reeses said. “Me too,” smiled fourteen-year old Jonathan Cook. “Me too!” chimed in Reeses’ father. Reeses turned and frowned clearly still peeved her father had come in the first place. Reeses was only thirteen, so she wasn’t allowed to date. But she had begged her father to make an exception, for she really liked this boy, Jonathan. So, her father made in exception. But she didn’t get it that easy, oh no- the catch was, he could tag along. It was Christmas vacation, and Reeses’ family was vacationing in Florida, where she met Jonathan, who lived there with his family. She had met him on a trip to the beach, and liked him immediately. Ditto for Jonathan. “Dad, will you let me say goodbye to Jonathan?” Reeses asked, turning towards her father. He didn’t get the memo, for he just stood there. “Alone!” she urged. “Fine.” He grumbled. Reeses turned back to Jonathan and smiled. “Sorry about that, and a proper goodbye isn’t possible. That man has the eyes of a hawk. It’s just too bad, because I’m leaving today.” “It’s okay. And, we’ll make a pact. In ten years, when I am rich, famous, and a rock star, come to one of my concerts, and we will have that kiss goodbye we don’t have a chance to get today.” “Deal,” she smiled, shaking his hand.

-------------Present-July 2009-------------------------
“Dude, come on! You have to go!” Raven urged her best friend.
“What? No way! Ray, that was ten years ago. He couldn’t possibly remember me!” Reeses insisted.
“Who would’ve thought he would actually become famous? Not you! That’s why you had never worried about it! But, fate has twisted it so that he is, and there is a concert right here in Boston! Which is why you have to go! Besides, Forever The Sickest Kids are awesome!” Ray insisted.
“I told you, I’m just going to make a fool of myself. There’s no way he’ll remember me,” Reeses shook her head, her red hair swinging about.
“No, you wont, and if anything happens, I’ll cover for you and claim you’re drunk!” Ray smiled.
Reeses smiled back. “Fine, lets go before I change my mind.”
------------------At the concert------------------
“Whoa! It’s packed in here!” Ray exclaimed as soon as we got in.
Reeses gave her friend the classic, ‘What The F^ck Is Wrong With You?’ look.
“Duh!” Reeses yelled over the music. Apparently, it was quite loud because the couple in front of them turned around and glared.
“Oh, just turn around! I wasn’t talking to you so don’t glare at me you lousy bunch of…” Reeses snapped.
“Dang, that wasn’t nice!” Ray laughed.
“I know,” Reeses smiled.
They started singing along to the (very awesomeness) song, Whoa Oh! (Me Vs. Everyone)
“I candy coat and cover everything that I'm still hiding underneath. It's been a long time. It's been a long time.
A thousand faces looking up at me hands are pointing ceiling oh what a feeling.
I've got friends in highly low places
I'll stand up push it and push it up, can't afford to lose now.
I've got friends in highly low places
I'll go inside when I wanna party, grab a girl and dance (don't touch me).” Jonathan sang.
”Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
Why do I put myself in these situations
Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
I keep pushing myself even though I can't take it at all
”Girl, who taught you how to move like that?
At this pace your at you're going way to fast.
I, I saw you from across the room
It's me versus every guy it's your choice you choose.”
”I've got friends in highly low places
It's been a long time, it's been a long time
and maybe baby you can rise above the rest and meet me yeah”
”Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
Why do I put myself in these situations
Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
I keep pushing myself even though I can't take it at all”
”Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
Why do I put myself in these situations
Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
I keep pushing myself even though I can't take it at all”
”You're worth losing my self esteem
Your clever words mean nothing more to me than a lot I've heard in a movie
you're worth losing my, losing my, losing my self esteem
you're not worth putting myself in these situations”
”Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
Why do I put myself in these situations
Whoa oh whoa whoa oh
I keep pushing myself even though I can't take it at all” He finished.
While he was singing, “Hey Brittany” he locked eyes with Reeses. Her heart swooned as she considered the possibility of him having recognized her.
His eyes widened, knowing, and he smiled.
He HAD recognized her.
They were having such a blast the concert was over before they realized it.
“Come on! It’s now or never! He’s famous and a rock star, its been ten years, you’re at one of his concerts, what are you waiting for? And have you seen a picture of him?” Ray swooned.
Reeses sighed. “Yea, he did get hotter over the years. And he locked eyes with me during a song. He smiled, too.”
“Then why are you still standing here? Besides, your man is motioning you to come over!” Ray squealed.
“Who-?” Reeses cut herself off as she saw what Ray was talking about.
He was motioning her over.
Reeses trudged over to where the Jonathan was at backstage.
“Uh… hi,” she said awkwardly, still not sure if he had recognized her.
“Do you not remember me? Or our deal?” he asked her with a smile.
A smile crept up to Reeses’ lips. “Actually, I wasn’t sure you remembered me.”
“Of course, but, do you remember the deal we made ten years ago?” his smile grew.
Reeses’ smiled widened, too. “Yes.”
“You didn’t bring your dad again, did you? At thirteen, cute, twenty-three, a little bit of a turn off.”
Reeses laughed. “No, no, I stopped bringing my dad along a long time ago!”
“Well, that’s good, because now I can do this.” He said, leaning in for that much- awaited kiss.
Their lips locked, and Reeses could swear she was in heaven, for that man kissed like an angel.
“Aw, you two are so cute together! Ooh! We should so hang out tonight! What do you say guys?” Ray piped in.
They broke away from their kiss, for Ray had inter-locked her arms with theirs.
Reeses forced a smile.
“Sure,” she choked out.
Jonathan had a forced smile on his face, too.
This was just like ten years ago all over again.
Guess who’s now playing the role Reeses’ father played ten years ago?
Reeses and Jonathan both screamed, for this truly must be karma being a b!tch.
The End!
Author’s notes: Okay, guaychica, I hope you liked it! This was my first one-shot, EVER, so I’m sorry if it didn’t turn out like you’d hoped! But I had fun writing it. I LOVE irony!
