I coughed and sniffled for the milionth time that evening. Waiting was just a bit too much. How could anyone expected me to wait when screams from the labour room reached my ear? And to think the room was a few feet away.

Being in this hospital scared me. Normally, I walked in and out of a hospital carrying flowers and I didn't think of anything but about my friends well-being. I wanted them to get better, that was all I think. You could say that I was completely oblivious to my surroundings.

I've never been on the maternity floor too.

Angela let out another scream and I cursed for not bringing my iPod today.

How hard it was to deliver a baby anyway? I knew that it hurt like hell, but on scale 1-10? And how did it felt like? I coughed again and held my head in my hands. I think I had to excuse myself, I was not feeling that well in here.

Plus, Brandon was cooking for me tonight so I must see this with my own eyes.

After I told Mr and Mrs Strickland that I would be going home, I walked back to the apartment thinking about what to buy for Angela and her new baby tomorrow morning.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Dear Sammy,

I can't make it to dinner tonight. I don't think I would even make it home. I'm sorry, I know how much you were looking forward to have a night for only the two of us. I'll make it up to you later kay? And I missed lunch too. Sorry to say, you have an insensitive asshole as a fiance.

Call me if needed; but I would be in a meeting with various people. And there's the seminar, I'm sure I've told you about that.

Love,

Brandon."

It was a post-it on the fridge's door. I took it and threw it into the trash. I yawned and started to gather my notes. Well, I couldn't say that I was not disappointed. But look at the bright side, I had time to myself.

There was no weddings tomorrow, but the day after that I had two weddings to take care of. Fantastic. I began to punch in some numbers and check whether everything was okay, and if the menu was precise.

Last time the caterers made a mistake, I almost got strangled by the bride-zilla.

I took my event diary and went to the elevator. I was hungry, mind you. Staying in the hospital while eating a bread that felt as if it was made from rock made me even more famished, however that was possible. I wrapped a scarf around my neck tightly the moment I stepped foot on the streets.

There was this Thai restaurant at the corner, I could go there, I thought.

When I pushed the door open, the warm air immediately greeted me. The restaurant was decorated in warm colors and on the feature wall were mouth-watering pictures of an assortment of Thai foods. The atmosphere was lively too.

This was the exact reason why I'd rather go and eat here rather than order from Pizza Hut.

My eyes wandered to an available seat, but next to that seat was Brandon with some blond girl. Ooh, was that the senior CEO he was talking about? She looked awfully young. But if she was, then why did Brandon took her to such a cheap restaurant?

She threw her head back and laugh at something Brandon said.

But when I looked closely, I was pretty sure that I knew that girl from somewhere. About a few months ago, I've met her in Detroit. And I prayed that her business would stay there and not expand in New York.

The green-eyed monster growls inside of me when I saw Evelyn Spencer touching Brandon's arm lightly.
