While the gift of prophecy is considered a wonderful calling and blessing, there is but another side of the coin -- an aspect that many people usually fail to take into consideration. As we seek to know the truth, there are also a number of false prophecies that are freely given to churches and people. This may bring untold harm, torment and serious misery to a misguided person who is trying to fiercely believe on the Lord. There are a lot of people out who carelessly and maliciously spread false teachings to mislead people. There are some unwritten rules of the game and people should not easily believe and succumb to false worship.
This book should be read by all pastors and anyone else who believes in the gift of prophecy.
On a scale of 1-10, this book is a solid 10 - especially in the end times we are now living in where the Bible tells us that that false teachers and false prophets will be coming our way. It is advisable to be armed with the right knowledge on the issue.
This is volume 1 of a 3 volume set by this author who is also a recognized prophet in the Body of Christ. He has written 3 fascinating and informative volumes on those who have been called to walk in this gift by the Lord. These 3 volumes go into very good detail of everything that the Lord will expect in the development of His prophets and what to look out for and how to really walk properly and effectively with this gift.
The author, in his personal life, learned much through trial and error about his gift. His teachings can provide knowledge for personal growth in this area if you have been called by the Lord to walk in this gift and office.

b) "Prophets Pitfalls and Principles: God' Prophetic People Today (Prophets 3)
For budding and developing prophets, these three volumes are recommended together with "Developing Your Prophetic Gifting" written by Graham Cooke.
