Waking Up with a Ring on My Finger and a Bad Boy at My Side [10]
Sequel to the 'I Woke Up Next to a Half-Naked Bad Boy'. Sorry if there's grammar errors, I haven't had time to re-read it yet ;(I crossed my legs impatiently. Damn this maid of honor's speech was such a bore, sorry to say. But when someone repeats the same thing over and over again (only, in different sentences), it tends to be a bore.
I wasn't in the mood to get back to work again but it was the only way I could pay for the penalty crap. I couldn't even afford a lawyer currently for god's sake. Damn economy crisis, I thought bitterly as I checked my watch.
One second felt like an hour.
So today, I arranged 6 weddings in one day. This was the last, thankfully. And miraculously, I appeared as if I could be in two places at once. I know, it baffled me too. "--And I hope for nothing else but for these two lovebirds to be happily married."
"She said that before didn't she?" someone whispered behind me. "Four times," someone whispered back. I looked towards the bride, Ella Pierce who suddenly caught my eye and shot me a look of distress.
Oh now she was distress.
I immediately clapped my hand after she gave her blessings to Ella yet again. Getting the message, everyone else followed suit. I nodded towards one of my staff who smirked and winked as she clapped louder.
Finally the maid of honor giggled and sat back down.
I've got a very limited staff...which consist of only like what? 5 people? Two of them took time off for a couple of weeks, so things had been really hectic. But it was all fine now...despite the fact that Evelyn Bitchy Spencer was treating me as if I was a marionette.
Brandon would kill me if he ever found out. I couldn't sleep just thinking about it, and he was supposed to come an hour ago. Usually when he arrived, he would call me as soon as possible. For once, I prayed to god that his flight was delayed.
"Hey Sammy," a colleague of mine, Sharon whispered. "We have code...stripes near the cake."
"What? When the hell did I invented that code?"
"You didn't. It's a new one."
I quickly turned around to see what she was talking about and to my utter bewilderment, there was a racoon clawing the table cloth and the cake on top of it was...let's just say that it was not particularly stable.
I looked around for the sign of the caterers, but there were like 20 feet away arranging the buffet table for refills and things like that. Panicked, I moved away from the stage area calmly as if I was going to the bathroom or something.
Sharon was trailing beside me and when we were far enough, we broke into a run. "Wait, there's another tail!" I said. "Two raccoon?"
"Three," I said, feeling faint as I saw more.
"What on earth are there raccoons in the middle of the city?"
"How am I supposed to know?!" I answered.
Were these things dangerous?
"Aw, you guys are so cute..." I trailed off when I got closer. A black raccoon looked at me in curiosity. If I didn't know any better, I would've guessed that it was glaring at me.
Oh shit it was glaring at me.

"I still can't quite accept the fact that Brandon is getting married to that...orphan," Rachel spoke, restraining herself from cursing. "It's ridiculous. Why didn't he stayed with you?" she scoffed. Evelyn sighed, swirling her flute of champagne.
"I reckon it's because of her," she finally answered. "And after what I did to Compton Industries, I don't think Brandon would ever forgive me in that area. Good thing you've forced him to accept me as a wedding planner after all."
Evelyn was pushing Brandon too far, Rachel thought. He was a very impatient man anyway. He had no time to discuss petty things over. "Even if he was marrying her I want to make their wedding as spectacular as possible. Brandon is my son," Rachel added, almost sounding painful.
"If he was going to have a wedding, I won't allow him to have the kind of weddings that Bennett usually arranged. His reputation is on the line, possibly because of the girl."
"With all of that you might think that Brandon dearest would dump her straight away," Evelyn snickered. She realized that Rachel didn't even care about Compton Industries (as long as she got her share of the money, according to the divorce settlement) or how she almost got away with sabotaging it once.
All she cared was her own reputation. If Brandon rep went down, hers would follow too since Brandon was her son. "Make sure you'll arrange it accordingly," Rachel muttered, taking a sip of her champagne.

"I called Shirley..." Brandon trailed off, gesturing towards the black-haired girl who was busy calling the zoo. "...to find out where you are...to surprise you but apparently..."
His gaze went from me to Sharon. "I'll just...g-go," she said, staggering towards back towards the crowd. "They're all back huh?" he said. "Yeah but one wanted to quit since he have to take care of her grandmother back in Ohio," I said.
I wasn't complaining or anything. As weird as it sounds, I actually loved to work alone.
Looking Brandon face-to-face like this, one might thought I might be relieved that he actually showed up and went to all the trouble to get here. But right now, I was far from relieved. My heart thumped so fast that I thought it would burst out of my chest if it went any faster.
My palm grew sweaty as I thought about if I wanted to tell him or...just wait for a moment until I decided to...to have myself decapitated...err, figuratively.
"That's so sweet," I said, kissing his cheek. His finger rubbed a bit of frosting off my nose and licked it. "So tell me why is there a cake on the ground and not on the table?" he asked, laughing when I twirled around to show him how much damage was done.
My dress was ripped. No kidding. The freaking raccoon scratched it while I got a hold of it and I ended up screaming and letting it go.
He grabbed me by my waist and wrapped his arms around it as he pulled me closer to him. He brought his face down to kiss me and I kissed him back pasionately. "I miss you," he whispered, just holding me in his arms.
And at that moment, I swear to god I broke down into tears.
