Waking Up with a Ring on My Finger and a Bad Boy at My Side [12]
Sequel to the 'I Woke Up Next to a Half-Naked Bad Boy' story. Rate and messages would be appreciated! Thanks so much for reading~! (This is a filler chapter btw)Adelene Moss (or Adele for short) was one of my first clients, and I had so much fun planning her party that we somehow became friends afterward. She was a creative and visionary African-American. Adele was about a year older than me with black hair and brown eyes. She's the editor-in-chief at large for a popular magazine called Quixotic. The magazine was aimed for 20-something women.
Since she was busy all the time, we didn't get time to hang out for a few weeks.
But when I was finished with an event, she called me and invited me to this movie which debut this unknown director/actor. It was in LA and she literally dragged me into her extravagant private jet. I tried to call Brandon, but the line was busy. So I left him a message instead.
"They said that this is the next big thing," Adele said, rolling her eyes. "So I send my journalist for the Shooting Stars column, but I decided to make an appearance too."
Truth be told: I didn't read Quixotic much...mostly because I didn't have the mood to go buy magazines nowadays; but I knew for a fact that the column was about....of course, celebrity gossips and everything.
The thing was, Shooting Stars was notorious for dissing celebrities. There were some pretty cruel and harsh remarks in there, which was true nonetheless. They got sued because of that. Half a dozen times, but they still didn't care as they won all the cases. I shit you not.
"So how's the wedding planning going?" she asked, smirking. "Brandon's one lucky dude."
"Evelyn is a bitch."
I didn't mean that.
...okay fine I did. Giving me a quizzical look, I finally told her all about Evelyn and her sinister, evil plan. "I mean, the only thing she's missing is an evil laugh. All she's got is a giggle that doesn't sound evil at all...but rather, like a dying horse."
She shot me a sympathetic look. "Does Brandon knows about this?"
I hated that question with a passion.
"No, not yet," I finally answered, but in hopes to change the subject, I asked her, "So what is this movie all about?"

A part of LA experienced an earthquake...
...of snores.
"Oh my god. Shoot her, kill her, eat her. Who the fucking hell cares already?!" Adele muttered under her breath, gesturing towards the god forsaken 'movie'. "The man's a douchebag. An ugly douchebag."
"But Rowan! I can't never be with you, NEVER!" the main character in the movie said. "There he goes again," Adele and I said in unison. It's been like this for 30 minutes. The guy can't be with the girl because the guy was menacing and dangerous and BAAAD.
This movie was so bad it's bad.
"I think I'm going to take a nap," I whispered. Adele took out her phone and said, "I think I'm going to read this e-book. I've been putting it off for months."
Out of curiosity, I looked towards the back where two girls were fighting in a whisper with the security. The doors were still locked, apaprently. It was like they were keeping us in for torture.
I slumped back in my seat and after a while, I literally took a nap like many others did.
I even dreamed of something, I forgot the details though. But I remembered that I dreamed of Brandon, for some reason. Normally, people would think that when I woke up from that dream feeling ecstatic.
Oddly, I felt cold and anxious inside.
It was predictable, I suppose. I need to tell him about the contract, but I was too afraid of how he might react. But no matter, we can get to NYC by dinner (half of me was hoping that I could go shopping first but oh well).
And how would I tell him them?
Definitely not in the car. We'll might crash into a tree or something.
Oh god now I was really nervous, and I was not even in New York.
"Hey," Adele said when she noticed my mood. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, when is this movie going to freaking end?" I sighed, anxiously. "A couple of minutes left."
I didn't know what's worst. Having to sit in the middle of the cinema watching some Shitty Movie of the Century or telling Brandon that I screwed up AND I still want to pay the penalty because I hated Evelyn so much.
