Waking Up with a Ring on My Finger and a Bad Boy at My Side [17]

Sequel to 'I Woke Up Next to a Half-Naked Bad Boy'. It's just some sort of a filler chapter, I hope you'll bear with me :D

Hanging out with Logan was the best remedy for me...in London. But that's just the point. It's in London, and the next best thing to having at least a friend to talk to was stuffing your face with all sorts of sinful, guilty pleasure.

Trust me, the chocolates here looked sooo goood.

Plus, without him I wouldn't have a place to stay. I didn't bring a lot of money and I only had one credit card at me at the moment...that was almost maxed out. I was the kind of person who takes out a wallet and all spare changes and things I've used, I just shoved them back in the bag instead.

That's how lazy I was.

So the thing about Logan was that he was incredibly shy, despite his first impression. It was like he thought, "Oh I'm so freaking exhausted just talking on that show so I'd better shut my mouth up or my tongue would fall off or something."

But once you get him to laugh out loud, he was such a fun person. I could see this as the start of a good friendship. I looked at the blue, cloudless sky almost a bit happily, feeling 100 times lighter and happier in the entire week.

The only thing that was visible on the vast, blue canvas was an airplane. I think it was American Airlines. I squinted. Was it? Ah, I didn't know. Why the hell did I care anyway?

"So one day left till Megan's birthday," I sang and he smiled. "Yeah, we worked wonders didn't we?" he said. "Hey Logan," I started softly, remembering something. I stopped walking and turned to him. "Since you helped me and all, you can knock off 5,000 to 10,000 dollars or so off the fee," I told him.

I was pretty sure that I had that kind of money already. I silently thanked Megan for being such a ridiculously extravagant person, or else the fee wouldn't be that ridiculously outrageous. He shook his head stubbornly.

"I could tell," he said calmly, "that whatever reason you went to London, you're probably in a mess back at home," he said. I blushed. It was not like I was broke or anything...it was that I was in debt to the most evil wedding planner that I've ever met.

And I couldn't deal with it anymore.

"I'm serious, or else you would completely ignore my company's rules and regulations, err, terms and--"

"So you're saying that random people helping you everyday is a normal thing? I mean, or else you wouldn't even state the rule in the first place right?"

Fuck.

He smirked smugly. "Still I wouldn't feel comfortable accepting that much...just please do it," I said. For the sake of my pride. He looked me in the eyes intensely before eventually sighing and agreeing. "Just 7,000 though," he warned me after bargaining. I want higher, he wants lower.

"Good enough for me," I grinned.

When we started walking again I kind of felt...hollow...

"Regretting it yet?" he gloated and I stuck out my tongue childishly. "No, my decision is final," I said. "The flowers should be arriving today," I told him as he ran a hand through his dark hair. "And the arch and everything."

To pull this off, I need at least 60 million flowers, or probably more.

Okay maybe I was exaggerating but I need a lot of flowers and nature stuff too. Logan managed to make a friend of his casually ask this Megan woman some stuff regarding the party. She suspected there was a surprise party anyway, so why even bother anymore?

So, it was really not surprising to come to the huge-hall-made-into-a-birthday-party-venue (if you ask me the price was freakishly high just to have this hall for a couple of days) and had boxes of fake flowers piled up at the front.

I signed the papers as Logan pushed the boxes inside of the hall. It was a quaint hall made of stones and bricks. It gave me the feeling as if I was in a castle with its' high ceiling, stone walls and pillars and ancient-looking windows.

We didn't even knew the building existed until Logan's assistant found it via the net, and decided to call us a.s.a.p. Such a good assistant. Why didn't I get my own assistant, I wondered?

...Oh yeah that means more people to pay.

Wow, I really didn't know how Brandon manage all of his staff and offices. I had a new respect for him, but then I remembered that we had a fight and all and I left the ring...

And suddenly I went to happy and bright to anxious and upset. I missed him so much. I had sleepless nights just because I thought about the 'wedding' from hell for too long, and I couldn't stop worrying about the money.

Plus, it feels awkward now to not have Brandon's arms around me protectively and affectionately. I didn't know why, but I guess I was too used of having him next to me every time I woke up and now...

"Samantha?" Logan called out when he saw me still outside. "Sammy, what's the matter?" he asked, gently placing his hand on my shoulder. I shook my head and wiped the tears away with the back of my hand.

Fuck this, I would not break down now. The last thing I needed was to be fucking vulnerable and looked as if I was weak. Not in front of Logan, especially not now...when my goal was just one step away.

After this, it would be all fine again. Except for that one credit card of mine, I wasn't going to be in debt. And the more I stood outside of the building, the more outrageous plans Evelyn was going to make.

And that pissed me off.

"Open up all of the boxes!" I screamed, even though Logan was directly in front of me. Err, whoops.

For some reason he thought it was amusing and he started to laugh. "That's what I'm talking about," he said and we high-fived...me, rather awkwardly since I didn't do high-five often. He pushed me inside playfully and I smiled.

A couple of steps away to...er...almost 900k.
