Small Town Girl, meets Big Dreams......and Hotter things (chapter 1)
Hey! So this is basically my first story. I hope you guys like it!! Please rate and message, i would appreciate it greatly. Thankies and enjoy :)I sat in the front seat of my mother's car and stared at the window. I didnt dare talk, to afraid that i might loose my breakfast.
Today was the day. Today was the day that all of my wildest dreams would start to become true. I was on the road to success, and that thought brought a smile to my nervous face.
As my mom drove up to the school at looked up at the huge iron gate in admiration. How did I, Taylor Parker, get accepted into this amazing school? I wasn't that lucky, and yet here i was about to walk into the most successful school for the performing arts. Malibu's School for the Performing Arts (or MSPA as the students like to call it) was like the Julliard of performing arts highschool. The best of the best came here, and usually went on to be very successful. And here I was, about to experience it all. Again, how did i get so lucky?
My mom had brought me here a few years back to see one of their professional shows, and i guess you could say I fell in love. I fell in love with the passion all of ther performers seemed to have, I fell in love with their dancing, their singing, and their acting. And since that one magical night, its been my dream to eventually be up on that stage with that kind of passion as well.
After that night, mom agreed to go online and apply, just on a whim. But she was dissapointed to see that you had to be mega rich to go to this school. My family, we aren't even close to being rich. We came from a small town in Nevada, my mom works as a waitress at a local diner, and my dad ran out on us when I was five. He left with all of the money, and all of our valuable possesions. All he left us was a large morgage payment, and a box of poptarts. We had to move into a smaller (much smaller) house that we could barely get around in. But hey, it was a roof over our heads and that all that mattered right? Thats what my mom said at least.
After my dad had left, I got depressed and lonely, and I didnt know how to deal with my emotions. Thats when my mom decided to put me into dance lessons. I was reluctant at first but gave in after the first couple of practices. Dancing amazed me, and it saved me from my emotions. I let me express myself in a way that no other activity could.
As years went on i got more and more passionate with it. Practicing five hours a day everyday. I was obsessed, always trying to make myself better and better. And when we found this school, if possible, I got more passionate about it, and practiced more. I wanted in so badly, but knew it would never happen because of the cost. Still, i practiced everyday, dreaming that someday i would be in the MSPA studio dancing.
One normal day me and my mom were sitting at the table having lunch, nothing special. But then we got a phone call and my mom got up to anser it, while i read a random article in Seventeen. I looked up when my mom's voice got all excited and sqeaky and her face lite up like a lightbulb. I remember wondering what all the fuss was about when she hung up the phone and did this little clap thing with her hands.
"You're going to Malibu, honey." She said with excitement.
It took me a moment to register this, but finally my face lit up as well and i covered my open jaw with my hands. "O my gosh, mom. Are you serious?? But...how?" I asked, my face then becoming serious. How could I have gotten accepted? Wasnt it too expensive?
My mom's expression then truned into a sheepish one. She looked down at her shoes as if she were embarressed. "Well, I took a video of you practicing one day and sent it into the Sholarship commity at the school. I thought it would be a good surprise for you.." She had said, trailing off.
I beamed at my mother. I couldn't belive that she would do that for me, and that i would get accepted into the school of my dreams. "Mom, I love you, thatnk you so much." I had said simply.
And now here i was with my bags in my hands, and my crying Mother in the car. I gave her a hug and kiss goodbye and turned towards the iron gates. This would be the start of my future, the start of my
dreams. Was I ready?
I nodded my head and stepped through the iron gates. I was so ready.
