Awakening the Namimori Demon’s wrath was something you had a knack for doing with perfection ever since you joined Namimori Chuu. You knew ‘reason’ was a word that didn’t apply to Hibari Kyoya if he could choose to stay eternally among the students when he wanted, and you also didn’t understand why he’d ever like to do that, but this was only one of the mysteries surrounding the easily teased Discipline Committee Leader.
There was one day and one day only that said man looked at you with something different from the usual despise look in his blue-metal orbs. You’d never forget how quickly he stopped himself before biting you to death after realizing why you screamed his name in the middle of the corridor, running at him with a messy hair and red cheeks.
In your hands, a yellow feather ball with a broken wing (but already treated and duly bandaged by the splendid you), chirping sadly and looking down.
“Hibari-san!” You gasped for air, legs shaking dangerously after running with the best of your stamina, holding the poor bird in his direction, “Sawada-san told me it belongs to you… Please take care of it properly… I already did the basics…”
“…”
He carefully took the bird away from your trembling hands and left without a word. After that day, he seemed to be more tolerant with your disastrous actions; but being late, breaking a window after an unproductive try of learning baseball with Yamamoto and dropping your lunch on his pure white, perfectly ironed shirt on the same day was too much.
“I already ignored you long enough, stupid herbivore…” He growled, narrowing his eyes at you, weapons ready in hands. You braced yourself, closing your eyes in a desperate and foolish effort to make the hit hurt less, already waiting for the tonfas beating against your head.
“…?”
Nothing of the sort happened; instead, something very light and seemingly fluffy nested on the top of your head, snuggling against your hair locks.
When you opened your eyes, there was a very pissed off Hibari before you, glaring at… Your head?
“Move.”
“Chirp~”
“I said move.”
Hibird flapped its wings, puffing out its chest, pure black eyes staring right back at its owner.
“Chirp!”
“…Humph.”
Once again, Hibari left wordless, but alone this time; your legs gave into the pressure, tears of relief running free. Hibird went from your head to your left shoulder, tweeting worriedly.
“Thanks, Hibird! You’ve just saved my life!” You sobbed, catching the bird cautiously in your hands and covering the beautiful yellow feathers with lots and lots of kisses along with some teardrops.
It didn’t mind getting its feathers wet to receive your kisses as payment.
“____! ♪~”
You now had Hibird as your flawless protection, and Hibari’s wrath couldn’t reach you anymore when you were together.
