A Matter of Trust
A ficlet, drabble, whatever. Just something I came up with to do during the hiatus. Angst-ish, as a friend put it.It was a matter of trust; but why should she trust him? Even with hands reaching down to her from the shining hole above, the only escape, it could be a trap. Against her nature, with hesitating hands -oh, how her instincts screamed.-, she reached up from the rubble to what might be a worse fate.
Trust no one. Love no one. You're the only person you can trust, and you're the only person who'll ever trust you. You will forever be alone.
That's what they told her as far back as she could remember. Trust was something that could bring her to her death. It happened several times before to others, especially to those in her position of power, so what would make her an exception? But when it comes down to it, to the point where she's on the brink of death, will she risk trusting someone enough to take their hand?
