Winged Truffles - Chapter Twelve : Resembool Prt.2

Lucy’s Past P.O.V.:

"H-hey Ed." I blushed and scratched my face,

"Lucy, what are you doing here?" he asked, I went over to the couch and grabbed the music box, and opened it and it played,

"You… forgot this…" I said, and closed it and gave it to him,

"You couldn’t have come all this way just to give me this!" he said, I knew he was going to say that,

"Ed!" Winry smacked him, "She came all this way to see you!"

"I’m sorry," he looked at me and smiled, "It’s just a surprise that she is here." He came over to me,

"C’mon I want to show you to my mom and brother!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me outside, it stopped raining but it was still dark outside, his house was bigger than Winry’s. He pulled me inside and yelled,

"Mom! Mom!, Lucy came all the way from central to here!" he yelled, I blushed, then a little boy came out of the kitchen, he had brown hair and brown eyes, he was smaller than Ed, he was his little brother.

"Nii-san, mom is making Lunch, Don’t yell!" He pouted then saw tiny little me. "MOM! NII-SAN BROUGHT A GIRL HOME!" then a long haired woman came out, she had brown hair and brown eyes, Ed went up and grabbed his mother’s hand and took her very short steps to me,

"So you must be Lucy, Edward talked about you." She said gently, I blushed,

"This is yours Miss Trisha," I held out the music box and she took it,

"Why don’t you stay for Lunch?" she asked, I saw Ed get Excited,

"Okay," I said, Ed smiled and Al stared at me, Ed saw and went to his baby brother and grabbed his cheek,

"Don’t stare at her horns, that’s rude!" he said, Al cried out in pain, I sighed,

"Ed don’t torture your Brother." I said, he looked at me, and made a face,

"Fine." He ran up and ran into the couch, I came beside him and sat down, he turned around and looked at me, "Lucy, why are you here anyways?"

"I ran away from my problems." I finally said, he looked up,

"Like what?" he said, I sighed,

"It’s a long story Ed, I just don’t want to go back…" I said, I looked at his little brother, he was still looking at me, "Something wrong Alphonse?"

"Why do you have horns coming out of your head, where you born like that?" I asked, I sighed, Ed growled at his brother, I covered Ed’s mouth,

"For as long as I can remember, Yes." I said, he smiled and came and sat beside me,

"Well," I looked up it was Miss Trisha, "Here’s the sandwiches, I hope you are hungry." She smiled, I nodded, I grabbed a sandwich and started to eat the sandwich, it was yummy and tasty.

"So Lucy," Miss Trisha sat down in a chair, "Why did you run away?" I stopped eating,

"Well, I ran away from the orphanage and the Military wanted something to do with me, and I disagree and somehow got away and I saw the killer in Central and it scared me badly and she killed my dorm advisor and I ran away…" I said, they looked at me and paused for a while until Miss Trisha spoke up,

"Well looks like you need a place to stay, how about you stay here?" she asked, then I felt Ed grab my hand,

"Yeah!" he smiled big grin,

"Okay, I got nothing to lose, I’ll also help around if I can." I said, Ed raised his arms in the air with his hands still holding my hand, Al did the same as his brother and I laughed. I was going to Enjoy here living with the Elrics,

"Then after you are done with the Sandwiches, would you help me with the dishes." She smiled,

"Of course." I said, and grabbed another sandwiches and started eating it. Ed and Al grabbed a sandwich and started eating, their mom smiled and went away. We finished after our third, Ed and Al where spread out on the couch. I smiled and laughed, I grabbed the plate and brought it to the kitchen and put it in the sink and started running the water and watched the dish. Then I saw Al come up to me, he seemed worried, I stopped washing.

"Is something wrong Al?" I asked,

"I think something is wrong with Nii-san. After we came back from the festival, he had been sad, could you cheer him up Lucy?" He asked, I put my hand on his head,

"Okay," I think I know what was wrong with him, I passed by him and went to the couch and sat beside Edward, "Hey Edward, you feeling ok?" he had his head hung low,

"I feel bad for lying to you…." He said,

"It’s okay Ed, I told you I forgave you…" I said,

He looked at me, he had a sad look on his face, "I really am…" I got up and stood on the couch,

"Cheer up!" I pouted, he seemed surprised, "If You live in the past, you can never move forward!" I pointed at him, "You got two good legs don’t cha?!" I smirked,

"Lucy," he got up and looked me in the eyes, "I’ll be the best I can be!" he said, his eyes shined, "And when I get the strength, I’ll show you I can move forward!"

"Alright then that’s two promises of the same!" I crossed my arms, he smiled and I grined, I looked back and saw Alphonse, smiling.

The next few months where the best of my life, Ed and Al became like siblings to me, and where always with me. Ed, Al, and I shared a room, it was like living with a real family, but that day, everything would go downhill… That day me and Miss Trisha where picking tomato’s from her garden, Ed and Al came home, and they had something in their hands, it looked like metal horses. They came up to me and miss Trisha,

"Mom, Lucy, look what we made!" they both said,

"What is it?" I asked with a basket full of tomato’s,

"We transmuted these!" Al said, "Alchemy!"

"I never heard of Alchemy," I said,

"Mom, can we show Lucy how?!" Ed said,

"Of course, enjoy." She smiled, I put down my tomato basket and followed them to some stone near a river, they had chalk, Ed Drew a symbol I watched. He put his hands on the symbol and I heard the same ‘ZZzzt’ noise from before, there plopped there was a Stone horse,

"Lucy you try!" Ed said, he handed me the chalk,

"I’m going to try something else." I put my hands on the stone and heard the ‘ZZzzt’ noise, It was a perfect dog statue, the dog that died in front of me,

"Woah Lucy!" Ed said, I picked up the dog statue and I started to cry,

"Lucy-niichan?" Al said, I whipped my eyes,

"This was a dog that used to travel with me, it died…" I said,

"How?" Ed said, I remembered how the dog died…

"He… was beaten in front of me… I watched him die…" I whipped my eyes, Al got up and hugged me, then Ed got up and Hugged me, "Guys," they stopped hugging me and bent in front of me and sat on their legs, I smiled, "Remember, Move forward?" they smiled, I got up and picked up the dog statue, "Let’s give this to your mother, she’ll love this." We started up the hill, their mom wasn’t there,

"Mom?!" Ed and Al cried, then everything when swirly, I fell to my side, the statue fell with me and crashed against the ground, I started feeling hot and I couldn’t move my body.

"Lucy?!" Ed came up and shook my body, "Al find mom and I’ll get her inside."

"Ed…" I felt my consciousness slip away…

I woke up to whispering, I didn’t move just listened,

"I’m sorry miss Pickalo but both of them Have the Plague, the girl though can be treated, Miss Trisha has been harboring the disease for a while and it may be too late for her. I’ll be back in two weeks to check on the girl." Then I heard the door close, I was lying in a plush bed, and a wash cloth was on my forehead, then I felt someone took my hand,

"Lucy," it was Edward he leaned on my shoulder, "Why?"

"Ed." I tried to open my eyes but the wash cloth was over my face, "Don’t pity me."

"Lucy!" I heard people rush over,

"Lucy-niichan!" Al cried, he sounded like he was crying,

"Hey, no tears’ Alphonse, Granny, how is Miss Trisha?" I asked,

"Lucy don’t worry about her, the plague only affects older people, this is rare, you could die from this!"Granny said,

"Ed, Al…" I asked, I ignored the dying part, "Don’t do anything stupid okay?"

"We promise Lucy." They both said, I smiled, then I covered my mouth and coughed, I heard them wine,

"Hey guys, take care of Winry, I don’t want her sick okay?" I said,

"Okay…" Ed said,

"Good…" I felt the same warm feeling, and twirled into sleep.

The next few weeks were the worst, I threw up about ten times a day, and I had an uprising fever that kept rising, and I couldn’t move my body. Miss Trisha wasn’t having as bad of symptoms as I had; but at the last two days I started feeling better, I was able to rise up and move from my waste up. Ed and Al transmuted things and brought them to me and their mother, by the time the doctor was here, I had a window seal full of transmuted horses or dogs. The doctor came beside me, I was wary at first but he was just checking me over, he smiled and turned to Granny who was standing with a scared Winry, Ed, and Alphonse. The old man smiled,

"Don’t worry kids, she’ll be fine," he started putting the stuff up in his bag, "In Two days she should be able to move around." All of them seemed relieved, but the most relieved was Ed, I smiled, the doctor took Granny into another room and Winry, Al, and Ed crawled up on the bed and swarmed me and hugged me.

"Hey! I’ll play with ya’ll once I get out of this bed!" I laughed, They got off of me and Granny came in, she had a class of liquor in her hand, something was wrong. She left without a word, the doctor left,

"Lucy-niichan?" Al asked, I looked at him, "Can you do Alchemy Again if we bring you stone, we want to show Winry!"

"Sure," I smiled, Ed and Al hopped down from the bed and went outside and as quick as a flash Brought in a huge stone, they placed in front of me, I put my hands on it and it shone and made a ‘Zzzzzzt’ noise, there I made was a Dog, it was tall. I saw Winry’s eyes widen, I gave it to her, she held it,

"It looks like Den!" she Exclaimed,

"Den?" I was confused,

"Winry’s Dog," Ed said, then he lightened up, "Get Den Winry and show Lucy, It’ll make her feel better!" I remembered I told them about the dog I used to know, Winry went and came back in with a little black puppy and she got up on the bed and plopped the ball of Fuzz on my lap,

"Her Name is Den," she smiled, I picked her up in my arms and she licked my face, I smiled, and petted her, "Wow, she really doesn’t like other people, so this is new."

"I never knew animal’s liked me." I said happily and Den kept giving little licks, they laughed and I looked out the window, I was fine, and I was able going to keep my promise to Edward. But then I wondered if Miss Trisha would be ok, she still had two boys to take care of still.

"Lucy?" I snapped out of my thinking stage and looked at Edward, he was in my face, and I was still holding Den,

"Ed-Edward something wrong?" I blushed and stuttered,

"You stare out into space a lot when someone ask you a question," he bent back and they climbed back onto the bed and they started asking me questions about the dog, and quietly I heard Miss Trisha’s mother crying, it broke me, but I didn’t show it, I would ask her what was hurting her when I got out of this bed. Two long Days passed and the boys kept bringing me more stone to use alchemy on, I made Horses, Dogs, and Winry brought me some yarn to make a doll. But I told Ed and Al to spend as much time as they could with their mom. So they obeyed and When I finally got to walk around, I went to Miss Trisha’s Room and talked to her,

"Miss Trisha, can I talk to you?" I went beside the bed,

"What is it Lucile," she asked, I puffed out my cheeks at the hearing of my Real name,

"Why where you crying?" I tried to be Nice as possible, she took my hand, and looked at me,

"I know you like my sons," she said, "Why I cry is because their father isn’t here, I do love him, but he left when they were young," she looked out the window that was in the room, "Could you please look after them when I’m gone, I would appreciate it." She turned to me and smiled,

"What do I say to their father if I see him?" I pouted,

"Can you tell him I couldn’t keep my promise, alright?" she smiled Warmly,

"Alright, I will, I promise, I will do both!" I smiled, she smiled and looked out the window, I looked out, it bright, clear and sunny, a perfect day…
