Spending Time With The Make-Believe's {{02}}
....:{{ Kira's P.O.V. }}:.
It's been a little over 7 years since I've seen my real parents.
I miss them allot, but I try not to let it show.
Jack and Mary (my lovely guardians, as I call them,) are very good to me and all, but It's just not the same. I go to school not too far from here. I don't have any friends there, but I talk to a few people in my classes. Even when I was younger, every time I thought about my parents in school it made me depressed the rest of the day- I tried not to do it often- but eventually it caught peoples attention and I got the label emo. But, I really didn't care what they thought about me. So, I ignored it.
But, there is always at least one bright spot in my day.
A few blocks from my house is a small park. . . well I guess you really couldn't call it a park since all it had was a slide and a swing-set. But, anyway, It's not the park though. It's what's behind the park.
Behind it is a dense wall of trees. Everyone thinks that if you go into the trees, you'll probably never come out, and that's why no one ever comes here. But, I personally know that their rumors aren't true, for I have gone into it.
No, beyond that wall of trees is a beautiful meadow. And in the center was a tree. If you were looking up it would look like a normal tree. But, if you were curios and looked down, you saw a hole. Of course I, being the self-conscious person that I am, was looking down the whole time so I immediately saw the odd tree.
Now, though I was a smart kid I don't have much common sense, so you'll have to be very patient with me here. As I stood there staring at this hole I some-how thought it would be the best idea in the world to go inside it. Smart. I know. Anyway, I crawled through the hole and stood up. I looked around, and what I saw made me hold my breathe. My eyes felt like they would pop out of the sockets at any moment..
.:{{Flashback}}:.
There, right in front of me were little balls of light. {{Stop laughing.}} But, as I stepped forward they stopped moving and I could make out little bodies. 'What?' I thought to myself, squinting my eyes. I squeezed my eyes shut and opened them again. "Well," I said quietly, looking at the little bodies of light, "I guess It's official. I'm crazy."
"Your not crazy." a small voice said. "Well then why am I seeing and hearing things?" I asked the voice. 'Wow. Why am I talking to it?' I thought.
"Well, if you are inferring that we aren't here and your just imagining us then you are mistaken." The voice continued. "Huh, well, okay then what are you?" I asked skeptically.
"Hm... I believe that you would be familiar with the names faeries, gnomes, sprites... well you get the picture right?"
"Yeah," I said, "but, I thought that there were no such thing as faeries..."
"Well, as you can clearly see, you are mistaken again." The voice said, sounding a little miffed.
"Okay. I guess I am." I said uncertainly, "So... What's you guys' names? Mines-"
"Kira," The voice said, "we know." I blinked. 'Yeah, that's not creepy.' I thought to myself, then said out loud, "Yeah... um... how exactly did you know that?"
"Oh, we know everything about you Kira. We've been waiting for a long time for this moment." As the voice was talking I looked all around me. The tree was amazing! Everywhere I looked there was some kind of sparkly object. {{Very descriptive right?}} Some of them looked like they were fidgeting under my gaze, but I figured I just was imagining things. I spun in a circle, and ended up with my head straight up so far that it hurt my neck. In my peripheral vision I caught sight of a small faerie with a very dim glow- not yet a sparkly one like the others- waving frantically at me.
I pulled back my head and turned to the tiny faerie. Everyone seemed to freeze as she came towards me, even the 'leader.'
"Hey there." I said smiling, at her... er... I think it was a girl...
"Hi," said the faerie, doing what looked to be a mentally challenged person trying to jump up and down. {{No offense to anyone.}} "My name is Melany, but you can call me Mel for short."
"Well, hi there!" I said smiling like when talking to a puppy. I couldn't help it she looked like one. Literally! She was like a black lab. My favorite . Her wings were lined with black fur and her body was covered with sleek, shiny, black hair. She looked adorable.
"We're gonna be the best of friends Kira!" Mel exclaimed excitedly.
.:{{End Flashback}}:.
And, that's how I found my sanctuary. And, more importantly:
My faeries.
