Impossibilities [A Draco Malfoy And Hermione Granger Love Story] Chapter Fourteen
This is where this story gets really sad..."You can go back to the dorm, I'll go to the hospital wing alone," I whispered, stopping dead in the middle of the hallway.
Ron looked at me with worried eyes and asked, "Are you sure?"
I nodded and he disappeared down the hallway. Once he was finally out of view (which took a while because he kept looking back) I sighed and headed after the flash of blonde that I had just seen pass the corner.
I really had to hurry, but in the end I caught up with Malfoy. I grabbed his arm roughly and spun him around to face me.
"Whoa! Granger, cool it," He said smoothly, pulling his arm from my grasp.
"What was that?" I demanded.
"What was what? Granger, for a smart person you really don't know how to speak so people understand you the first time around," Malfoy said boredly, letting his eyes wander off to focus somewhere behind me.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about! That! Getting me not to kiss Ron!" I exclaimed angrily.
Malfoy snorted with laughter and his grey eyes landed on me once again. Calmly, and slightly annoyingly, he responded, "Granger, all I did was come up to the Astronomy tower, whenI saw the two of you, I left. It's not my fault if a glance of me prevents you from wanting to kiss your beloved boyfriend. That night obviously meant more to you than you care to admit..."
"Malfoy, don't play dumb with me. I know you're trying to sabotage my relationship with Ron. And I'd highly appreciate it, if you would stay the hell out of it." I hissed.
A slight smile crossed across Malfoy's lips and he caressed my cheek gently. Whispering, he replied, "If you wanted to kiss him and not me when I showed up, you would have. I could've stood there and you would've still kissed him if you wanted to. Especially if you wanted to prove to me that last night meant nothing to you. But you didn't. You came after me. I thought it was only natural to leave after what happened there..."
I forced myself to stay completely focused. Malfoy was only trying to distract me, and I repeated that sentence constantly in my mind. Running over his words in my head, I finally came to a conclusion of what he would think would be the correct answer. "What happened there?" I asked somewhat curiously.
He smirked, "Well, apart from it being one of my favourite places for my more... intimate dates, it was also the place of Lavendar and Ron's most intimate date. I just thought maybe he liked to reminesce about the past times before it happened again..."
"You're a liar," I responded smoothly, "Ron told Harry that it happened in the Room of Requirement."
There was silence for a moment. He seemed to study me intently for a while. Finally, he shrugged, "If you choose to believe that, go ahead. But who has been more honest to you in the past? As far as I know, Granger, I've never lied to your face. Though I'm fairly certain you didn't know about Ron and Lavendar until you saw them snogging in the halls."
With that, Malfoy turned on his heel and headed off down the hallway. I stared after him in shock for a moment and then yelled, "Stalker!" But I was almost certain he didn't hear my words.

"You feeling better?"
"Huh?" I asked, just coming out of a daydream as Ron appeared at my side in the hallway the next morning. I had been on my way to breakfast, but I had stopped when I passed the doorway to the dungeons.I was half-tempted to go see what else Malfoy had to say.
"Yeah, totally. Umm... go on to breakfast, I'll meet you there in a couple of minutes. I have to hand Slughorn some extra-credit work," I lied smoothly. Ron nodded and walked on as I headed into the dungeons.
I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do down there. I loved Ron, I had loved him since I was eleven years old. But Malfoy... he was so infuriating and horrible and... unbelievably passionate. But I knew it was lust at best.
As I was just about to turn the corner into the hallway that would lead me to the Slytherin common room, I decided. I was hear to tell Malfoy to stop messing with me. I took a single step forward and paused; Voices were drifting up to me and one of them was Malfoy's.
"Shut up, Zabini," He hissed.
"Make me," Zabini replied laughingly, "Nott told you to sleep with the mudblood, not fall in love with her."
"I could never love a mudblood," Malfoy retorted sharply.
"Then why are you always talking to her? We saw you two in Potions class and in the hall last night. We all agree. You're mission is finished and you got what you wanted, so why in bloody hell are you still conversing with her on a regalur basis?" Zabini responded coldly.
I could almost see Malfoy's face flushed with fury. His voice came out slowly, as if he was talking to someone stupid, "Zabini, as usual you are beyond wrong along with the rest of your group. The fact that I've slept with someone who hates me will no doubt live for the next seven centuries, but I need to be a legend. And what makes a legend?"
He paused dramatically and then continued, "Someone who not only does the impossible, but succeeds at two things impossible. I'm going to make that filthy little mudblood virgin fall in love with me."
"She's not a virgin anymore," Zabini countered curiously.
"Please, the way she did it she should still count as one. The Aztec's would definitely still sacrifice her," Malfoy replied coolly.
I held back a gasp of disbelief and tip-toed away from them quickly. Tears brimmed the edges of my eyes but I blinked them back quickly. I had always known Malfoy didn't care and I was there to tell him to stop messing with me, so why did it hit me so hard?
I made my way back to the Great Hall, and wiping tears on my sleeve, sat down beside Ron. He glanced at me and took my hand under the table. Whispering, he asked, "This time you can't pretend you're okay. What's wrong?"
Thinking on my feet, I lied smoothly, "My dad got hit by a car... but he's fine. Promise."
Ron shook his head and replied, "No, something happened in the dungeons and you need to tell me what it was. Whatever it is... it's safe with me."
I hesitated a moment. I wasn't sure if I should tell him the turth or not. I decided against it, "I never slept with Malfoy. He... he... made up the rumor to hurt you and when it backfired... he told me to break up with you or there would be consequences."
"He threatened you?" He asked in disbelief.
I paused, and then, realizing Malfoy might actually do such a thing and it wasn't totally out of the question, I nodded. Ron whistled under his breath and replied, "Well... he can't do anything. Despite Harry's protests he's no death eater and over the years you've done more damage to him then he's done to you."
I smiled and Ron hugged me around the shoulders. I took a big spoonful of cereal and just then, Malfoy entered the room. He winked at me and I almost choked to death. He was disgusting.
