The Beatles Stereo Box Set Review

The Beatles in Stereo Box Set came out on September 9th of 2009 it instantly became the standard for The Beatles legendary albums. These new stereo mixes sound far better than the old discs from the late 1980s. When a listener compares the remastered CDs to the older discs it's like the older CDs are under a lot of old blankets while the 2009 discs sound crystal clear so that all of the vocals and instrumentation push through the mix like never before.
The Beatles Remastered Stereo CD Box Set isn't the only box set by The Beatles released in '09 but it is the most popular because it can be enjoyed by the widest range of fans. The Beatles Mono Box Set is amazing too but it appeals mostly to Beatles purists who want to hear the original mono mixes (and compare them to the stereo mixes) than to an music fan. While I will agree with the "purists" that there are some songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (particularly quite a few of the pre '67 songs) all things considered I believe the stereo CD set does sound the best.
The fantastic thing about The Beatles Remastered Stereo CD Set is that it lets you to acquire The Beatles entire '62-'70 discography with just one purchase and considering the high quality of almost all of their albums, it makes sense to order al of the albums at one time rather than just picking up some and then getting more later.
Beyond the great ground breaking music included in this set there are some groovy visual bits, most obviously the DVD with 13 mini documentaries on it (one for each studio album.) Along with this documentary DVD there are extended liner notes for each CD (there is some interesting information in there, particularly for new fans) and some interesting unpublished pictures.
I'm such a huge Beatles fanatic that I've ordered (or I plan on buying) The Beatles Stereo Set, The Beatles Mono Box Set, The Beatles Apple USB, and The Beatles Rock Band Game. But if I had to choose only one of these items, it would have to be the comprehensive stereo box set because it is the best hear their legendary albums and of course, it's the classic songs that made them the most popular band ever.
