"You can ice skate then?" Nathan asked. Helios kept jerking him forward and it was really hard to keep up with what he was trying to say. "Yeah, why?"

Smirking, he answered, "No, you just don't seem like the girl who ice skates."

"What makes you think that?" I snapped. "You know, the ice could like crack or something and you would fall and die," he laughed. I turned away, blushing furiously. He was mocking me.

"Or penguins could come all the way from the south and eat'chuu!"

Helios suddenly ran into a sprint., dragging Nathan along. "Nate!" I called after him, breaking into a run. "Helios, boy, stop! Heel?"

But he didn't listen. "How heavy is this guy?!" Nathan said, trying to stop him. But he could only do so much. "Um, about 110lbs but I think he gained a bit of weight ever since. He's pretty fat...now that I've noticed..."

"It's a rhetorical question, Carrot!" he yelled.

Let me lay out to you in scenes.

Scene #1: Nathan's shoe fell off. Tripped over a bit.

Scene #2: Ran into a tree. God knows how he could still stagger along, holding onto Helios' leash.

Scene #3: Helios saw a cat across the street. Sprinted towards it.

Scene #4: Truck moving at fast speed---

Wait.

"NATE!" I screamed, my heart pounding. But as soon as the truck was out of my view, I saw Nate hugging Helios. My knees felt shaky as I exhaled. I didn't even realized I was holding my breath in. "Okay, he stopped," he screamed out.

"Thanks for pointing that out, Captain Obvious," I yelled back, rushing to his side. "Bad Helios," I cried out. He hides his face behind his paw as Nathan got up, looking disheveled. "Where's my shoe?" he asked, sounding dizzy.

"I...don't know."

"Aw, damn."

Nathan, who was lacking a shoe, decided to walk back home before anything crazy happens again. I agreed and hold the leash together with him. It didn't mean much at first. But now as we walk in complete silence, I suddenly started to feel all prickly...and tingly...

"It's really cold this year huh?" he asked. I nodded. "When will you go back to UK?"

"Next year," I told him.

"Thank god," he joked and I playfully hit him.

"Nathan? Nathan Bradley?"

We turned around in unison at the voice. I was staring at a tall guy with blond hair and black eyes. He had ear piercings and he was wearing a gray hoodie. "Jason," he said, sounding pissed off and surprised at the same time.

"What? Forgot that I visit my parents house in Jersey every weekend?" he said, smirking. "Nice to see you again, buddy. You should really stop by at California. For good old times' sake."

Without warning, Nathan punched him. The both of them tumbled onto the pavement and started to fight whilst Helios was barking loudly and crazily. "Stop it!" I wailed out, trying to pull Nathan off of the Jason dude.

"You chauvinistic pig!" he said, giving another punch but Jason blocked it. With one swift move, Jason kicked Nathan off of him. I backed off instantly. Jason dodged a punch from an aggressive Nathan and elbowed him.

I took Helios leash. I've got to do something.

I unhooked his leash and said, "Go, boy. Obviously they want to play with you."

Without hesitation, as if understanding the situation, he jumped on top of Jason and he went down with a cry of frustration. Nathan rubbed his jaw and spit on Jason. "You, Kevin and the rest of you lot can go to hell."

He called for Helios and ignored the rest of Jason's crude comments as he continued to walk away from him. I was right next beside him but he avoided eye contact with me.

I could understand why.

His blue eyes were wet with tears that were threatening to fall.

But it never did.
