19) Make new friends.

20) Christmas shopping.

A couple of day went by without Nathan appearing in the hotel and even though I got Quinton and my mom to accompany me but I couldn't help but wonder if he was okay. He left text messages but that was all.

He didn't even returned any of my calls.

My Christmas shopping wasn't that terribly...well, horrible - considering it was last minute. It was just that everytime I was back in NJ for the year, the only people who would receive my presents were my parents.

Ever since I went to a boarding school, I lost in touch with everyone. Most of them even move away too. But when I was back in Britain again, that was when I rushed to the store first thing before term starts to give every each and one of my friends present.

We call it a 'Laggy Christmas.'

Usually I just gave Keira a bar of Tobelerone and Scott a packet of Hershey's Kisses, Milla a packet of peanut butter cookies and stuff like that. To sum it up, I gave my friends items that I could find in the shops in the airport.

I once gave Mike Stevey, one of my closest friends, an airbus model. But oh well, he wanted to be a pilot in the first place.

But this year, I would have to shop for Keira too as she was staying close. Nathan too, and I wanted to buy Quinton a little something. Our flight back was due tomorrow and Nathan still haven't showed up.

Christmas was within two days.

I cringed. Oh god, my stomach was in pain. "Can I eat them too?" I asked, batting my eyelashes towards Quinton in a playful and innocent manner. He laughed and handed me a few of the cookies.

21) Give your friend cookies as an early Christmas present. Eat it.

The warm cookie felt as if it was melting in my mouth and I grabbed another one. "You're flying out tomorrow?" he asked, giving me a pout. "That's no fun. My friends are flying out to their grandparents houses or something like that too."

"Aw, you still can spend it with your family," I pointed out and he laughed. "Yeah right as if that would be so much fun."

I gave a half-smile, my mouth full with cookies. "Come on, I still need to buy cards for everyone," I said. "I'm planning to D-I-Y half of it," I continued, standing up. He shook his head somberly. "I need to go soon so I might not be able to be with you for the rest of the day."

"S'ok," I said, shrugging as he stood up. "I'm going to pack up my things this evening anyway."

"Fun," he sniggered and I nudged him playfully, rolling my eyes. He swung his arm around my shoulders and ruffled my hair. Laughing, I pushed him away lightly. "And here I was looking forward to ask you out on a date sometime," he said.

I blushed. "Sorry, Q. I already have a special someone in my life," I said, beaming happily as I thought of Nathan. He sighed wistfully. "Oh well, when you break up give me a call," he said jokingly, laughing.

We entered a cute little shop (well, I entered the cute little shop and dragged him along with me) filled with teddy bears and heart-shaped candies and what-nots.

"Ew," Quinton said, disgusted. "This place reeks of sweetness and cuteness. I'm expecting a rabbit to jump at me anytime now," he said, then paused. "Okay, that didn't sound as wrong as it was in my head."

I laughed and picked up a white, furry teddy bear and started to wonder if Vanessa would love this. Walk into her dorm and you would see a shelf full of plush toys. On her bed sat a large teddy bear followed by more little tiny bears surrounding it.

Our first year, we gathered in her room to hang out. My friends and I joked about her plush toy collection. "I wonder how you carry all of them here, Nessy," Jill Giller said in awe. "Vanessa must have one suitcase to pack all of these," I replied half-jokingly.

"Nah," Vanessa replied, her bright green eyes twinkling happily. "It's actually three."

We were all stunned to silence.

I bought it for her anyway. God knows how the girl could manage all of those suitcases.

"I might buy one of these for you," I said to Quinton and he rolled his eyes. "I'll make sure to burn it afterwards."

I chuckled. As we walk further down the aisle of large plush toys (some of them were even hanging on the ceilings), I overheard a soft girl's voice laughing loudly. "Oh Nathan," she said. "You crack me up."

A familar chuckle.

Followed by a familiar voice saying, "let's just get out of here. I can't take anymore of this crap."

Nathan?

Ignoring Quinton's yawns, I went to the next aisle. But he followed anyway. "My friends would meet us for coffee, if you don't mind. Both of the girls love these kind of stuff too," he said, rolling his eyes for the umpteenth time since we got into the store.

My eyes were fixated on a female figure standing so close to Nate. I missed him so much that just looking at him made my heart ache greatly but that wasn't important at the moment. The girl stood on her tip-toes and gave Nathan a kiss.

"Ella," he sighed, taking the creepy-looking doll from her hand. "I'll pay for this and then could we go grab something to eat--"

"Let's go," I said to Quinton when his eyes met mine. Quinton, though, stood rigid. "Nathan," he said. "I'm not looking for a fight."

"Neither am I," he said, ignoring him and walking towards me. I shook my head and slapped his hand away when he touched me. "So this is why you wouldn't answer any of my calls?" I said shakily. "Because...because of this?!" I said.

"It's not what you think," Nate started but I shook my head again, backing away from him. "I knew this whole dating a delinquent crap is a bad thing," I said, turning away to leave but he caught my wrist.

"You're mad?" he whispered, sounding deadly. "You're hanging out with this bastard and you have a right to be mad at me?! For all I know--"

I cut him off instantly, slapping him. "Shut up, Nathan!" I yelled angrily, turning a few heads around the store. "He's my friend," I said. "At least I don't go around shoving my tongue down his throat."

"Charlotte."

"Leave me alone, Nathan."

22) Have a broken heart for the first time ever.
