50 Ways To Spend Your Christmas, Stuck With an Annoyingly Hot Emo Delinquent [24]
Slightly short chapter. I couldn't jump to the ball immediately now could I? XD Merry very belated Christmas guys; sorry I haven't updated lately. I've been so busy, it's almost surreal. I'll get out the 25th chapter a.s.a.p though. I hope you'll enjoy this one. And I'm sorry for the sheer short-ness of it ;P

"Why are these things never clear?" Keira said, her eyes fixated on her phone. "Virgo. Jupiter is aligned with your stars-- okay that's one thing," she grunted. "How the hell am I suppose to know what that means?!"
I chuckled and handed her a mug of hot chocolate. We were sitting in front of the lit tree. The colorful presents were already set underneath it. Even though Keira was in a jolly good mood, I knew someone wasn't.
My mother just went back, offering to do everything herself and when she was done she went upstairs. She was really quiet too, so I guess something must be wrong. "Hey Charlotte," Keira said. "D'you know I'm going to the ball?"
"What ball?"
"No, listen," she said in a rush. "That Christmas ball for tomorrow night?"
"I don't know, Keira," I replied, sensing where she was going with the conversation. "There would be free food. It's only two hours, it won't take that long. No one would stomp you to death while we're all dancing. And hey, who knows you could meet a nice chap?"
"Are you nuts?" I said seriously.
"Oh come on, please? I really want you to meet the wonderful guy I met!"
After a few moments, I finally gave in, sighed and said, "Fine."

"Hey mom," I said, sitting on the edge of her bed. Keira left and Nathan was downstairs watching the TV. "I'm going to this...Christmas ball thing on Christmas eve tomorrow," I said. "That is...um, if you let me?"
She looked up from her knitting and smiled graciously. "At what time?"
"From 8 to 10," I said. "I might go home earlier since the reason I'm going in the first place is--"
Because Keira forced me to, I nearly said. "--because Keira wanted to introduce me to this new guy of hers," I babbled on and my mother nodded, looking distant. "Okay."
"Mom, are you alright?" I asked questioningly, looking at her. "You look a little bit...off..."
"Oh no dear, I'm fine," she said, focusing her attention back on her knitting. The needles clicking together loudly, her brows were furrowed in frustration. "I'm just a bit light-headed tonight."
"Need me to get you anything?" I asked before I go, but she simply shook her head. "Go. Have fun."

In our school back in London, we knew that Keira had her morning ritual when there was a party or an event to attend to that night. Like the school's dance. The things she got out from her bag made Wal-Mart make-up isles looked like crap.
"It's Christmas Eve, leave me alone!" I yelled into the phone groggily and snapped it shut. I hit the snooze button and snore my way back into my fairytale land...until the phone rang again. "Keira," I said warily.
I wanted to sleep. Clearly that wasn't going to happen.
"It's almost noon! I'm at your house right now!"
"No it is NO--"
I looked over towards the clock in which I had slammed my fist onto for at least 70 times this morning alone. Snooze. Snooze. Snooze.
"Get up!" Keira said and I grudgingly followed her orders. Suddenly, she burst into my room with her phone still pressed against her ear. "Let's get to work, shall we?"
Oh dear god.
