Big Time Rush :: 09
Thanks to motoxgirly91 for messaging me! :D I kinda like this chapter a bit, but it was sooo hard to put it down with typing. Ahh, it sounded so much better in my head. Lol.“Our top story today: famous pop singer, Mason Crawford, was found at a local after party where he was embarrassed in front of many people as he was pushed into a pool. People say that he swore revenge on the famous pop group, Big Time Rush, whom others claim as his rival in the music business. Paparazzi stopped to chat with the pop star who claims that they kept bothering him at the party. He-” Kelley turned off the news and Gustavo looked at the boys with menacing eyes. The four of them gave nervous smiles.
James is the only one smiling... Haha.
“What were you thinking!?” Kelley yelled out.
“Hey, hey, it wasn’t our fault! Katie pushed him in the pool!” Carlos said.
“Yeah, plus… he was hitting on Tammie, aka, his ex-girlfriend and she did NOT want to be involved with him at the party,” Kendall said.
“It does NOT even matter! What matters is that you made yourselves look bad!” Gustavo yelled.
“Yeah, but for a friend…” Kendall pointed out.
“I don’t care! And now, we have a widespread news on Mason Crawford seeking revenge on Big Time Rush and I can NOT have that happening!” Gustavo yelled again.
The four boys groaned and rolled their eyes.
“Oh, c’mon, we can handle him,” Kendall said.
“Just steer clear of him,” Kelley said. “He’s a deceiving one and will do anything to get on the top. Which is one of the main reasons why he broke up with Tamara.”
“What a selfish jerk,” James said.
“You’re the one to talk…” Logan muttered.
“Hey!”
::::::::::::::::
“I’m sure it’s not THAT bad,” Katie said.
“He nearly caused mass mayhem again when we talked to him,” Kendall said. “He wasn’t too happy.”
“Obviously,” Logan said.
“You really shouldn’t have pushed Mason into the pool…” Carlos said.
“Hey, you guys would’ve done the same thing. I mean, c’mon. He’s a jerk who was trying to get Tammie back.”
“She’s got a point,” Logan said.
“Where is Tammie anyway?” James asked.
“She had to stay after school for awhile.”
“It’s getting pretty late,” James said.
“I think I’ll go get her. It’ll be dark soon,” Kendall said as he left the guys and his sister to proceed in the direction of his school, which was right across from Tammie’s. He got there just in time. He saw her walk out the front doors of her school and cross the street. She was looking down at the ground while gripping the strap of her backpack and didn’t realize that she almost ran into Kendall. Luckily, he stopped her short.
“Oh, hey Kendall…” she said, surprised. “What are you-?”
“It was getting late and we were all getting worried,” he responded.
She looked around. “But you’re the only one here.”
“Yeah, well, I decided to come alone.”
She smiled up at him and the two began to walk together.
“Why’d you have to stay so late?”
“Late-night band practice, intense.” She laughed a little. “Oh, and I heard about the whole Mason-revenge thing. Sorry.”
“It’s not your fault.”
“It kinda is… I mean, I shouldn’t have gone to that party…”
“Tam, don’t sweat it. Ooh, I’m SO scared!” he said the last part sarcastically.
She laughed a little and the two proceeded to talk casually about their daily abouts and whatnots of what happened with their day. Little did they know that Mason was watching close behind…
::::::::::::::::
A week had gone by with no word from Mason or the revenge story. Was it all a hoax? A pride thing that guys seemed to have? Maybe, maybe not. Okay, so it was a maybe not because he appeared in front of them, or rather Tammie, once again, through a text nonetheless, asking her to meet him in front of a café after school. So, she had to make an excuse to the boys and Katie. She didn’t wan them to know that she was going to meet him. But later on in the day, Kendall received a text.
“Stay away from Tammie if you know what’s good for you.”
He was baffled at this text, not knowing who it was from, so he decided to call Tammie. One ring… two rings… three rings… then came the voicemail. He sighed. A few minutes later, he received a phone call from Tammie.
“Tammie? Hello? Hello?” but he didn’t receive a response necessarily for him. Instead…
“Mason! What the heck!?” came Tammie’s voice on the other line. Also, there came a muffled answer from, what sounded to be like, Mason. Tammie came back on. “Yeah, I wrote their song. Doesn’t mean I’ll ever write one for you!”
“Tam? Tam!?”
“What’s going on?” Logan asked.
He shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe Tammie accidentally hit the call button to me…”
“You’re so selfish! Doing anything to get to the top. Oh, well here’s something for you, they are MUCH better than you! You’re a selfish, immature jerk who can’t do anything right and is just so stupid as to understand anything in life and…” it became muffled after that. The other three boys listened closely on the other side of the phone.
“Where do you think she is?” James asked.
“Have no idea,” Kendall responded.
Carlos had a mischievous smile on his face. “But we’re gonna find out. Spread out, men!” he called out and placed his lucky helmet on his head and the four boys were off running out into town.
They split up and searched all over. Went to the local burger place, the nearby mall, even the grocery store. Kendall stopped in his tracks. “Where did Tammie say she went after school…?”
“Sorry. I, um, have to go somewhere for my… my mom! I’ll be at the café, so you don’t have to worry. I just have to pick up some things…”
“The café! Dang! How could we forget that?” Kendall said mentally slapping himself and running down towards the direction of the café.
And there he found the two, sitting at an outside table, talking. Mason immediately noticed Kendall off in the distance and grabbed Tammie by the hand and tried to pull her up.
“Come with me,” he said.
“What? No!” she yelled yanking him away.
“Is this your way of getting ‘revenge’?” Kendall called out. Tammie turned around. “Wow, I finally figured it out. You only want Tammie back to sabotage us.”
“What are you talking about?” Mason asked through his teeth.
“You’d do anything just to get on the top. And you KNOW that she wrote one of our songs that reached the top. You think if she’ll take you back, you’d get the goods to yourself.”
Tammie turned around. “Is THAT what this is all about? You never wanted to become friends again? No wonder you asked about my songwriting…” She yanked away from him.
“This is NOT over yet!” Mason said as he launched himself towards Kendall.
“Kendall!” Tammie called out.
Kendall stepped off to the side and Mason ended up almost tripping. Kendall, out of much fury, threw a punch to his stomach. Then, he grabbed him by the collar and glared him down. “Mess with Tammie again and you’ll get it from ALL of us. It’s a wonder that you get mad because a little girl pushed you into a pool.” Mason then proceeded to run away.
“How did you know that he was only after me for… revenge?” Tammie asked.
Kendall stepped up to her. “I… really didn’t. I totally guessed and I guess I was right. Plus, you accidentally called me and I heard you yelling at him about writing the song for us and never for him, so…”
“I called you?” She took out her phone and it showed that a conversation with Kendall went on for about ten minutes. “Great, my butt must’ve hit the button or something.”
He laughed. “Tam, why didn’t you tell us?”
“I didn’t want to worry you guys.”
“Well, you did anyway.”
She gave out a little laugh. “My bad.” Then she sighed. “I can’t believe I was so stupid…”
“You’re not stupid.”
“Yeah, I am. Kendall, I believed that we could actually be friends again. Even before that, at the party, he… I swear, he tried to kiss me. I know I said before that I’m over him, but… some part of me… some very, very, very small part of me… still…”
A soft breeze blew by. Kendall smiled. “You’re too nice.”
“Ah, I know.” She smiled back at him. Then a few tears began to escape from her eyes. He noticed this and brushed them away.
“You can cry, if you want to.”
And so she did. She buried her face in her hands and began sobbing. Kendall grabbed a hold of her shoulders and then she placed her hands at her sides. They looked at each other for awhile and soon their foreheads were pressed together.
“Tammie, we’re always here for you. Just remember that.”
She nodded her head.
“Hey!” some called out.
The two of them looked to see James, Carlos, and Logan running towards them.
“Hey, you found her!” James said. Then he looked down at Tammie. “Have you been crying?”
“Uh, noooo…”
“Well, c’mon. Let’s head back to the Palm Woods,” Logan said.
They all nodded and started to head back, but Tammie stopped Kendall short.
“Kendall…”
“Yeah, Tammie?”
“…thank you…”
He smiled down at her. “Anything for you.”
